Damian took a deep breath, “I am fine, You can keep whatever you have for me for the future. But for now, I don’t have anything to say.”

Mr. Alex and his wife exchanged glances, then switched their gaze to Damian.

Mrs Bianca shrugged. “My daughter is returning soon and we plan on hosting an event for her. We would like to invite you.”

Damian couldn’t reject this; he had done down all the gifts. Saying no to this would break their heart.

“I will accept your invitation.” He replied. “I will take my leave. I have other things to handle.”

Mr Alex walked behind Damian as they made their way towards the entrance, where they found Doctor Jonathan, whose face was covered in a hot sweat. Damian gave him a tight-lipped smile, and they walked away.

“Mr. Damian, my driver will take you to wherever you wish to go.” Mr. Alex said, calling his driver.

“I appreciate it, but someone is waiting for me outside the gate.” He said with his voice barely above a whisper. “I will call you later to know the condition of your son.”

Damian made his way to the entrance, where a Rolls-Royce was waiting for him. The moment the bald man sighted Damian, he got out of the car and opened the door for him with his head bowed slightly.

“Mr. Damian, I am sorry. I heard what happened between you and your ex-wife.” Christopher, the butler, said, looking through the rearview mirror.

While Damian kept mute.

“Mr. Damian, where would you like me to take you?” He asked politely.

“I will be staying at the old master’s house for now, until I figure out what to do next.” He retorted.

The car came to a halt at the entrance of the mini-mansion, where Damian’s late master used to call home. Damian had spent the early stage of his life, living with his master and learning from him.

He felt a surge of emotion within him, as he stepped out of the car. The mansion brought back memories, which couldn’t be forgotten.

Mr. Damian, everything has been prepared. I made sure to supervise the cleaning of the house and other necessary things. A maid will be coming early tomorrow morning to make sure she cleans and cooks for you.’

Christopher paused, “I brought you this card,” he said, handing Damian an exclusive card. “Inside the card, a whopping sum of a hundred million dollars was deposited just for you. This was the master’s request before his death.”

Damian saw his master as not just a teacher but like his father. He had no idea who his real parents were, but he hoped one day he would meet and ask a lot of questions.

Damian took the card, taking a glance at it, before shoving it into his pocket.

“One more thing,” Christopher said, and Damian’s step came to a halt.

“What is it?”

Christopher let out a soft sigh, “The business, should I bring you the monthly report, and how many men should I send over to guard you?”

Damian shook his head, “I don’t want any men around here, I can take care of myself. Did you install the CCTV camera as instructed?”

“Yes,” Christopher nodded.

“Good. Then, the business. You can continue to manage it. I will let you know when I am ready for that.”

Christopher nodded calmly as he got into the car, since he had nothing else to do. But one thing was still troubling his mind. “Why would the young master want to stay here without his guards?” He thought to himself as his face was etched with worry.

Damian made sure to inspect everything around the mansion, after which he had a shower.

He stepped out of his apartment, he had been planning on grabbing dinner at one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. As he walked down the sidewalk, the city was busy tonight. From behind him, he heard rapid footsteps before he could turn around, and the sound grew louder.

Instantly, a young lady appeared out of the corner of his eyes with her face etched with fear and panic. She was running as if her life depended on it. Judging from her eyes, Damian knew something was wrong.

“Please, help me.” She gasped, trying to catch her breath.

“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Damian asked stepping forward with concern.

A shout from behind interrupted her before she could answer.

“There she is? Let’s get her!”

Damian tossed his gaze behind and saw that four men were closing on her fast. Their faces twisted with anger; without being told, Damian knew something was wrong. He averted his gaze at the lady who looked terrified, her body trembling and legs wobbling beneath her.

‘Who are you and what do you want from her?” Damian asked with a sharp voice.

One of the men, with a scruffy beard and a scar running down his cheek, sneered as he pointed at Damian. “Stay out of this, young man.” He warned. “This doesn’t concern you.”

“I don’t think you understand, but you don’t get to chase her down like this. She is not your property.” Damian replied, standing before the lady.

The men chuckled in a way that made Damian’s blood boil. “You want to play the hero, this is not a movie set. Look around, no one is coming to save you when we beat the hell out of you. You don’t even know who we are.”

Damian shook his head. He wasn’t intimidated by the men. “I don’t care to know who you are, but what I know is that no one deserves to be hunted like this.”

The biggest man stepped forward, Damian was wasting their time. His fist clenched, “I am warning you, stay away.” He said, before turning to his companions, “Let’s teach him a lesson.”

He nodded when his gaze met the lady’s. From her expression, he could tell she was scared.

“Don’t do this, these men are evil. They might hurt you.” She whispered.

“It’s fine. I can handle them.”
