Behind the stage, Tracy was fuming badly about the movie.

Everything was ruined, her image, her career, and her chance to go to A+ City.

"How could this have happened? I need to talk to the producer," Henry demanded, but no one was answering him.

"Can't you hear me?! I said I need to talk to the producer!"

But they all turned deaf ears to him.

And then, Angelica arrived.

"You! Yes, you!" Henry recognized her. He quickly rushed up to her. "I need to speak with the producer. It's urgent!"

"I’m sorry, but you can't speak to the producer," Angelica told him. "Here, contract termination with the Z+ City Film House."

"What?!" Henry gasped.

Tracy came over when Henry gasped suddenly. "What's the matter?"

Henry couldn’t speak. She then noticed the contract in his hand.

"Also, this is for you, ma’am," Angelica said as she handed her an envelope before leaving them.

"Contract termination with the Z+ City Film House?" Tracy read what it said.

"How? Why am I getting this?" Henry couldn’t understand a thing anymore.

"I’m going to get in touch with that producer! He has a lot to explain! I don’t deserve this treatment!"

With that, he stormed out, adamant about speaking with the producer, but unfortunately for him, he would never find the producer.

He crossed paths with Lucian on his way out but failed to notice him.

Tracy also headed out, only to find Lucian.

Seeing Lucian, she remembered everything he told her, how she would lose the contract. But it was still shocking to her.

She never expected it to actually happen.

"Lucian," she called out to him, but he didn’t hear her. His gaze was completely fixed elsewhere.

But Lucian didn’t pay any attention to her.

Tracy watched as he walked past her, and her words became heavy.

Just then, the president’s daughter, Monica, came out. As if he had been waiting for her, he went to her, congratulating her on the movie.

"I very much enjoyed your performance. I didn’t know you acted as well," Lucian said, still keeping his identity a secret.

"Oh my, I myself didn’t know I could. I just accepted the offer when it came."

They both laughed it off, but Tracy approached them.

“Lucian, I need to speak to you.” Tracy clenched her fists

Lucian faced her this time, not ignoring her but telling her what she needed to hear.

"There's nothing left to talk about between us." He exploded at her. "We already ended this relationship a long time ago, so why bother trying to talk to me again?" He joined his palm together as continued. "Please don't talk to me and I won't talk to you."

Tracy was shocked, Lucian had never spoken to her like this before. He was always so gentle.

“I don't know what you did to make things go wrong but you will regret it! ” Tracy bit her lips. “Monica, you couldn't get rid of me with your talent and you decided to use your influence. Don't think we don't know you seduced the Z+ Film Conglomerate.” Tracy scoffed, leaving Monica in shock.

“What?” Monica gasped.

Lucian stepped forward. “You are going too far, Tracy.”

Unable to refute back, Tracy scoffed and walked out.

“Please don't mind her.” Lucian sighed, he was a bit embarrassed, knowing Tracy was his ex-wife.

Monica hummed a bit. "Well, if you say so. I’d like to invite you to an auction that will be going on tonight. Will you be able to make it?"

"Sure, why not. Just drop the time and place and I’ll be there."

"And please, don’t leave this time, regardless of whoever you might see tonight," she begged him.

Lucian, not having any other choice, succumbed to her request. "Fine, I promise, I won’t leave."

Later that evening, Lucian was in his secret chamber, a place where he would settle down and prepare potions whenever he had the necessary ingredients.

Now, he had cooked up something rare, two very powerful potions.

He had secretly been preparing this for the auction that Monica had invited him to.

After all, he had informed her father that he had a lot to do and places to be.

There, he took the two glowing mixtures he had just finished preparing.

The first one was pure, unique, and booming with spiritual energy, and the other was fiery. He sealed them up in a black box and prepared himself for the auction.

Later, at the auction house, Lucian made his entrance. He wasn’t dressed like the others, he came simple and fine.

He hadn’t seen Monica just yet, which was okay, but his plain clothes still pulled a little attention toward him.

People wondered how a simpleton walked into such a prestigious meeting but Lucian couldn't be bothered.

He found the alchemist in charge and handed over the box, only to be sneered at.

“What is the meaning of this, you fool?! No average man can create anything worthy of this event.” He scoffed.

“Take your garbage and leave at once.”

Lucian simply smiled. “Open it.”

“What makes you think I’ll open this junk?”

“Just open it. It's not that hard.”

Hesitant, the alchemist did, and within seconds, his expression melted from arrogance to shock. His gaze trembled immensely, even his hands were shaking.

“T-this is... no way! How can it be?!” He looked around as different gazes turned their way. “A Soul-Grade Restoration Elixir!”

Lucian smirked.

“It’s so rare! I can’t believe I’m holding one!” He immediately shot his gaze back at Lucian. “I sincerely apologize for my earlier actions, sir. I assure you, this will be, no doubt, the highlight of tonight’s auction!”

Lucian nodded without saying anything. He simply walked away. He kept the other potion for another personal purpose.

Along the way, he met Monica, who was also looking for him.

“Hey! Where have you been?”

“I’ve been around, doing some stuff.” Lucian smiled in response. Monica nodded and they went to their seats.

As they settled in, the lights dimmed slowly as the bidding began.

Several items were presented, from rare artifacts to priceless heirlooms and other accessories.

While it began, something caught Lucian’s eyes, something he found more valuable than the rest of the items up for bid.

“A Soulfire Pearl,” Lucian muttered. “That’s some rare treasure sitting there.”

“I agree,” replied Monica.

“I might get it.” Lucian fixed his gaze solely on the pearl.

“What? Can you afford it?”

“That won’t be much of a problem, Miss Devoe.”

Monica shook her head. “What do you mean? That thing cost a fortune!”

Just then, Henry shot up and placed an aggressive bid, extremely confident no one would match it. “Five hundred thousand dollars.”

“Why are you bidding so high on it?” Tracy asked him.

“I’ve been trying to get it for months,” he replied. “Why do you think I came here? I need it to get stronger.”

Tracy didn’t bother to say anything again and just watched.

But then, Lucian raised his paddle and proceeded to triple the amount without even a second thought. “1 million, five hundred thousand dollars.”

His action triggered gasps all around, even Monica was baffled.

Henry, on the other hand, had his confidence smashed to bricks and they were seated far from one another.

“Y-you?!” he stammered. “He’s lying! He doesn’t have that much!”

Hearing Henry's claim, and seeing Lucian’s attire, the host was also suspicious.

The host frowned, thinking he was going to be played. “We aren't joking here, Sir. Please cut your coat according to your size.”

When Lucian heard the man's sentence, he rose to his feet, and narrowed his eyes. “Three million dollars.”

CHAPTER 161Martin had just closed for the day. He headed home that night. When he got home, he found the door unlocked. "Ugh? how's that possible?" It was very odd since he always left his door locked before heading to the hospital or the drake manor. He pushed the door open and met the TV on. His gaze swept across the room and found someone on his sofa. The moment his eyes scanned who the figure was, he frowned immediately and went straight in and shut the door. "How did you get in!" He approached the woman on his sofa. The woman, just as old as Martin except for her preserved womanly features. Her eyes were focused on the TV screen. "I am talking to you woman! what are you doing in my home!" "You told your daughter to lie to me that you weren't at the hospital the other night." She started. "I knew she was lying because you will always be at that forsaken hospital of yours." "Watch your tongues woman, you have no right to be here, take whatever you brought wit

He noticed that certain things had been touched.Someone must have been here, Lucian thought. It was very obvious to him because he remembered exactly how everything in the room was before he left the previous day. Before making any move, he remembered the security cameras were watching. He had already managed to prevent Martin from having any form of access to the footage from the previous day.It was quite simple. He had bribed the security guards. He had bought them off Martin’s hands, and now whatever he did would either be deleted before Martin could get it—or worse, it wouldn’t even be recorded at all.Lucian stepped out of his office and into the hallway. He looked around and saw nurses moving up and down. There were doctors too, heading
