Dylan's body was sent flying through the air, crashing to the ground with a sickening thud. He lay there, bleeding and motionless, his vision fading to black as his head spun wildly.

The tears he had been holding back finally broke free, and in that moment, he felt utterly alone and forsaken. The pain was overwhelming, and he couldn't move a muscle.

His mind was a jumble of thoughts, but one question kept echoing:

"Is this the end?" He thought about all he had lost, and how he had nothing left to lose. The world seemed cruel and unfair, and he felt like he was being punished for no reason.

As he closed his eyes, a flood of memories from his life flashed before him. He saw glimpses of his childhood, how his parents died in a car accident, his friends, and his lost love.

He thought he heard a faint whisper in his mind, but he couldn't quite make out what it was saying.

Just then, the faint whisper in his mind became sharper with a resounding voice ringing in his mind.

"HOST DETECTED...."

"INITIATING PARING SYSTEM"

"PARING BEGINS!"

"20% 50%...... 70%.... SYSTEM PARING ACCORDING TO HOST NEEDS."

"ANALYSIS COMPLETE!!"

"TRANSACTION BEGINS......"

"WARNING....!!!!"

[HOST EMERGENCY: Initiating Healing System].

A warm, golden light began to emanate from an unseen source, enveloping Dylan's battered body. The light pulsed with a gentle, soothing energy that seemed to seep deep into his wounds.

As the light intensified, Dylan felt a strange, tingling sensation coursing through his veins, as if his very cells were being rejuvenated.

His pain began to ebb away, replaced by a deep sense of relaxation and calm. The light continued to envelop him, nurturing his body and slowly restoring him to wholeness.

He finally opened his eyes and all he could see was the deserted road and a haunting image of blood splattered around him.

"I got hit by a car.... Am I dead? Did I die like that?" He touched himself to check for possible wounds as he stood firmly.

Dylan scrutinized the deserted road and all he could see was just the splatter of blood covering the road. "Isn't that my blood? And I have no wound. Is this how death looks like?"

Panic set in as memories came flooding back - the car accident, the pain, the feeling of his life slipping away. A cold dread crept over him as he realized that he must be dead.

This must be the afterlife, he thought. But why did it feel so... real? And where the hell is my body? No police sign anywhere, so my body wasn't moved yet...What's happening?

Just then , a mesmerizing blue square hologram appears in his vision, radiating an ethereal glow.

A white light shimmers and undulated, creating a sentence: WELCOME HOST.

Another message followed simultaneously;

"Congratulations! You're the luckiest man among billions. You are chosen to be the Ultimate Ruler of the Infinite World! "

"What the hell is going on? Am I hallucinating? Ultimate Ruler? What's heck is that?"

[You were on the verge of death and the infinite system has been activated. Will host like to activate system fully?]

Dylan giggled at the sound of that, "Yes, I'm definitely hallucinating. This is not some kind of marvel comic... I need to get my head straight."

Dylan stood there trying to figure exactly what happened. Then the thought of Ashley hit him so hard that it became his main thought. Before he could think of the hurtful memories another message appear in the screen.

"WILL YOU LIKE TO ACTIVATE SYSTEM FULLY?"

"Yes, I want to activate... Are you satisfied now?" He yelled at the up of his voice expecting a response after.

A minute passed already and nothing came up. "I knew I was the one hallucinating. What if I am living in my thoughts right now what will---"

Instantly, the same hologram appeared.

Ding...!!! Ding..!

"Full System Activation"

"Opening Access"

[ Name: Dylan Bradley ]

[ Status: Rank 1]

[ Strength: Weak ]

[Power Point: 0]

[Skills Chamber: 0 ]

Dylan noticed that on the status screen there were more tabs on the top but without even doing anything and just reading the tabs in his head. The screen automatically switched.

On the AI assistant tab, Dylan couldn't really see much. Everything seemed to be locked and slightly greyed out so he quickly moved on to the next tab which was called, Charm. But it was all greyed as well.

A notification popped up on the screen shortly,

[ Note that the balance is not finite. Every rank with a correspondingly increase amount of money. The more money spent, the higher the rank and more money a Host can access. All greyed tabs will be unlocked as host ranked up with power points ]

"Is this some kind of joke? I just have to keep spending the 100 trillion recklessly if I want to level up and I even get to enjoy more money if I level up. Nah!!! This can't be real."

Though he didn't believe, he still scrutinized the screen looking at all the tabs... Immediately, it switched on the main screen and a notification followed abruptly.

[ RANK 1: Get 1 power point for every 100 Million Dollar spent. Account is binded to all all Banks in the world and a host can pay with fingerprint.]

"What if it's just a scam?" Dylan thought to himself. "What if it's just a fancy trick to get me to do something stupid?"

He thought about how his life has been and how desperate he was, how willing he was to try anything to get out of his miserable life.

But as he looked back at the System, he felt a pang of doubt. What if it was too good to be true?

Dylan's mind was a jumble of conflicting emotions, his desire for a better life warring with his fear of the unknown.

He didn't know what to do, or what to believe. All he knew was that he had to be careful, that he couldn't afford to make a mistake.

"Let's try it out then."

He reflectively caught the chain mid-air with one hand, his grip was so firm and unshakable. It was right in this moment they knew that strength isn't measured by physique.Without a moment's hesitation, Dylan yanked it with brutal force. The thug attached to the other end was ripped off his feet and flung violently forward.... Crashing straight into two of his approaching comrades.Their bodies collided violently with their skulls cracking together as the three of them dropped helplessly to the ground. And the half-smashed thug, the one who got his face compressed from Dylan's punch earlier was now the only one left standing."How did a 21-year old knock down everyone? Who the hell are you?" The half-smashed thug just couldn't keep his voice down. He was so annoyed on why Dylan didn't even give them breathing space to fight him. He literally took them out in just a few seconds.Dylan wasn't ready for those stupid talks at the moment. He gave him enough time to make his decision, but

The half-smashed thug, who appeared to be the leader, regained a false sense of confidence as he noticed the others rallying behind him. With renewed arrogance hovering over him, he wiped the blood dripping from his mouth and stepped closer to Dylan again. But this time, he wasn't alone, the other thugs had taken their stance around Dylan. Some of the thugs came from the side with jagged pipes. The remaining goons with their chain-wrapped fist and dangerous weapons gleaming under the headlights, roared as they rushed forward.Austin's heart was pounding right in his mouth. It looks like it was about to break out of his chest at the very moment. "Dylan... Get in!!" Austin instantly got into the Lamborghini and yelled at Dylan. But the latter didn't move an inch. He just stood there not flinching as he watched the goons yelling towards him.His eyes locked onto the incoming attackers with a deadly calmness, as though he had already calculated every move they were about to make.Austi

The thug nodded frantically as he got no other options. Even the other thugs knew that fighting Dylan was like committing suicide. “We got a message... earlier this evening. Just the location and target, and the target is your friend, Austin. But your name was there… with a warning attached to your name.”“What kind of warning?” Dylan's tone darkened as he was already on the verge of losing patience. The cold fury in his chest wasn’t from the thugs in front of him. It was from whoever had dared to target his friends while hiding behind shadows. A coward, bold enough to pull strings from safety, but too weak to face him directly. They didn’t just pick the wrong target. They stepped into a territory they had no business entering, a line that once crossed, could never be undone. Now, there was no going back. Not for them. Not after targeting someone Dylan cared about. They hadn't just made a mistake, they have declared war...!“Start talking...!” Dylan ordered, and one doesn't need

  • CHAPTER 151

Dylan wasn’t one to act on emotion. Logic had always been his compass. It was a principle he had learned from the Tripods over the years, and it had saved him more times than he could count. But tonight, logic was out the window.Someone had dared to lay hands on his friend… and that was a line Dylan couldn’t allow anyone to cross. He could already tell the men standing before him were nothing more than local muscle. They were clearly paid thugs sent by someone hiding behind power. Probably someone who thought they were untouchable. That alone made Dylan's blood boil.He despised people like that. Cowards who sat behind desk or security walls, pulling strings and sending others to do their dirty work. To Dylan, they were the worst kind of threat. Ones who hid behind power instead of owning it.Dylan’s jaw tightened as he took another step forward, his presence alone was making the night heavy.“Who sent you? I won't ask again…”At this moment, Dylan's voice has lost all calmness. It w

  • CHAPTER 150

“Austin?” Dylan muttered. Austin? Out here? Running for his life? How the hell did he get here? Dylan just couldn't make sense of it. Austin was supposed to be in his hostel by this time, not running for his life. His face was pale as sweats were dripping down his temples. His shirt was torn and messed up with mud. Even his legs were so tired that he was having problems standing upright. And from the way he was panting heavily, one could tell that he had been running for hours.Inside the chaos of his own mind,Austin suddenly froze. That voice...!Austin heard a voice like that of Dylan calling him from inside of the Lamborghini.Despite not seeing him clearly, he knows Dylan's voice when he hears it. He has practically been his friend for years and it has stuck with him. He doesn't need to see him before he could discern if it was Dylan's voice he heard or not “Dylan...You in there?... Man...help me...” He gasped with desperation breaking his voice. The thugs burst towards him

With how late it had gotten and the threats still looming, most believed the roads weren’t safe to drive at night. But what unsettled Dylan wasn’t the road.It was Becky. Her sudden warmth, soft tone in her voice, and the way she now looked at him, none of it looked genuine. It wasn’t respect... It was admiration for power... for his money. Dylan could see through it all.She didn’t care about him. She cared about what he now represented...!“Dylan... it wouldn’t be bad if you just spend the night here,” Becky said softly, stepping a bit closer. “We could get to know each oth—”“No...I will be fine.” Dylan cut in before she could even finish.
