The evening sky faded, leaving streaks of orange across the horizon. Behind the silent gym building, the place felt like a battlefield waiting for the first explosion. Quiet, except for the crunch of shoes on gravel.
Alister stood still in the middle of the small field surrounded by tall walls and dense trees. The evening breeze blew his hair back slightly. His gaze was sharp, locked straight ahead.
Behind him, light but steady footsteps approached. It was Yoona, following him.
"I told you not to come," Alister said without turning around.
"Too late," Yoona replied calmly, her eyes scanning the area. "Besides, I already told you—I’m not a coward. I’ll take responsibility for what I started."
Alister sighed quietly but said nothing more. He knew it was pointless to argue once Yoona had made up her mind.
A few seconds later, the heavy sound of footsteps echoed from the right side of the building. Kelvin appeared from the shadows, followed by dozens of people wearing different uniforms. Twenty—maybe more. All of them looked ready for a fight.
Yoona gritted her teeth. “He brought an entire army.”
Alister stepped forward, eyes locked on Kelvin without a hint of fear. “We agreed to come alone.”
Kelvin smirked, hands in the pockets of his jacket. “I never said I’d play fair, Alister. You’re the idiot who believed that.”
Mocking laughter came from the people behind him. They began to encircle Alister and Yoona slowly, making the two of them look like tiny dots surrounded by a dark wave.
“You’ve been a hero for too long,” Kelvin said, raising his voice. “Too long doing whatever the hell you want. Now it’s your turn to fall. You and your wannabe-tough girlfriend.”
Yoona stepped up, now standing beside Alister. “If you think we’re going to run, you’re dead wrong.”
Kelvin raised his hand. “Then let’s start our little party.”
Several of his men began preparing—tightening gloves, gripping batons, cracking necks. The tension hung in the air like a thick fog.
Alister rolled his neck slowly, then looked at Yoona.
“You cover the left. Stay close to me.”Yoona nodded. “You too. Don’t die like an idiot.”
Alister smirked slightly. “I’m not dying until I make them regret this.”
And just like that, everything exploded into chaos. Footsteps thundered. Two against more than twenty.
But Alister and Yoona weren’t ordinary students.
The pounding of feet turned into impact. Without warning, the first attacker lunged at Yoona, swinging a wooden stick high toward her head.
In a split second, Yoona ducked, then jabbed her elbow into his gut. The man staggered back, coughing, and fell. Alister was mildly surprised—Yoona clearly knew how to fight.
Two more came at her, but Yoona sidestepped quickly, driving her knee into one’s chin.
Meanwhile, Alister was far from idle. A tall guy tried to punch him from the right, but Alister caught his arm, twisted it until it cracked slightly, then kicked him back and smashed another guy’s face who had tried to ambush him from behind.
“Why does this feel like morning training?” Alister muttered, kicking a baton from an opponent’s hand and catching it for himself.
Yoona leapt back from a sweeping kick, spun, and struck her attacker’s temple with a solid kick. Her breathing was slightly heavy, but her eyes burned bright—unyielding.
Still, they were outnumbered. Three men charged at Alister at once. He swept one’s legs, struck the second in the solar plexus, and slammed the third into the ground. But for every one that fell, two more came.
Yoona began to struggle. One man nearly attacked her from behind—but Alister threw the baton, slamming it into the guy’s back just in time.
“Focus, Yoona!”
“I don’t need saving!” she shot back, even though she knew that hit would’ve knocked her out.
Kelvin watched from a distance, grinning. “Keep going, Alister. Sooner or later, you’ll run out of gas.”
But then, Alister suddenly stopped. He took a deep breath, then tossed his jacket aside. His gaze turned cold, focused—lethal.
“My turn now.”
In a flash, he moved. Fast—too fast for the eye to follow. One by one, enemies fell within seconds. Precise punches, accurate kicks, movements forged by experience.
Yoona, even amid the chaos, paused in shock.
Who exactly is Alister...?Kelvin started to grow uneasy. He signaled to his remaining men. “Finish them!”
Yoona turned toward Alister, who now stood among a pile of fallen bodies, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth—but his eyes burned fiercely.
Yoona stood beside him again.
Two against ten. But strangely, it was the enemies who hesitated now.
They were just starting to realize…
They were facing two unstoppable storms.
Kelvin didn’t care. He stepped forward, pulling a metal rod from under his jacket. “Stop hiding behind theatrics. You think you’re strong? No one is invincible!”
Alister raised his chin slightly. “If you need twenty guys to take me down, maybe you're the one who never believed you could win.”
Kelvin snarled and charged, swinging the rod toward Alister’s head—
Clang!
Yoona kicked the rod from the side, knocking Kelvin backward. He gasped for breath, trying to regain balance, but Yoona was already in front of him.“If you want to hurt anyone, you’ll have to go through me.”
Kelvin smirked. “Gladly.”
They exchanged blows. Kelvin’s strikes were heavy, but Yoona was faster—dodging, sweeping his legs, kicking his ribs. He stumbled but didn’t fall, retaliating by slamming the rod into her shoulder, making her drop to her knees with a hiss of pain.
“Yoona!”
Alister rushed in, blocking Kelvin’s next swing barehanded. He gripped the rod, twisting it out of Kelvin’s grip. The rod clattered to the ground.
Alister stepped on it and stared straight into Kelvin’s eyes.“Now it’s just you and me. No weapons. No backup. Just us.”
“Yeah… fine,” Kelvin snarled, preparing again.
He tried to fight, but Alister dodged and countered every move with ease. With a swift lock, Alister threw him down—hard.
Kelvin cried out, but before he could move, Alister’s knee pressed into his chest.
“Listen carefully. This isn’t about being a hero. It’s about you hurting people—and no one stopping you.”
His voice cut through like a knife.
“Until now.”Yoona stood behind them, face dusty and scraped, but eyes shining.
Kelvin squirmed on the ground, breathless. His followers? Silent. Not one dared approach. All were paralyzed by fear.
“You lost,” Yoona said calmly, though her voice struck deep.
Alister stood and let him go. “I won’t kill you. But if you ever touch Yoona—or anyone else in this school—I'll hunt you down. Wherever, whenever.”
Kelvin struggled to rise but said nothing. He knew, without a doubt, this time—he had truly lost.
And in that silence, Yoona and Alister stood side by side. No words needed—just a shared glance that said: We made it. Together.
Without another word, Alister picked up his bag and jacket and walked away.
“Alister, wait!” Yoona called, chasing after him.
He stopped and turned.
“What?”“How about we go to the nurse’s office? You’re injured too—we could treat our wounds there.”
Alister paused for a long moment before replying.
“I’ve never been close to anyone. I don’t like trouble, and I don’t go looking for it.”
He looked at her seriously. “Yoona, I don’t know what your plan is or why you’re getting close to me—but I’ve got nothing to do with you.”With that, he walked away, leaving Yoona staring after him in silence.
