[Your social status has just been established]

“How is that possible?” Logan touched his chin.

A moment later, he drank the coffee that had been served by Lori, the maid who had been taking care of him earlier.

“That is because you have obtained the system. The damage in your body’s network and the pain you were experiencing have all disappeared.”

Slowly, Logan looked back at the small fairy floating in front of him, with glowing blue wings and flowing blue hair.

She is a guide.

Logan blinked slowly. At that moment, he remembered the system’s message about the restoration of his body. Without realizing it, he placed a hand over his abdomen—there were no stab wounds that should have been there. He should have been dead by now.

“At that time, you had nothing at all. Because of that, the system granted you a new life, which made you a young master now.”

Logan looked outside. He realized his room was located on the second floor, and the mansion’s courtyard was quite spacious. A faint, indescribable feeling lingered in his chest. During the time he had lived with his uncle and aunt—who desperately wanted his wealth, he had been separated from the main house, living instead in a small shack-like building at the back.

Now, he had something like this. It was still hard to believe.

But he turned his gaze back to the small fairy in front of him.

“Miya, how did I obtain this system?”

At this point, he was extremely curious. Could something have happened that allowed others to obtain the same thing as him?

“In Norsein, there is a legend. The Goddess Sylvaris may have taken pity on a child like you, Master. I don’t know the details either, since I am only your guide.”

Hearing that, Logan couldn’t continue drinking his coffee. He recalled the legends of Norsein—the stories of the guardian goddess Sylvaris, which were said to be nothing more than myths.

Perhaps that goddess truly had pity on him. Whatever it was, he was still alive now.

Soon, Logan began walking out of his room. Slowly, he observed his new residence. It was not very large, but it felt empty. Aside from Lori, there were no other staff members.

“Ah… this is actually quite exhausting.”

Logan stopped walking and held onto the wall. His breathing was still heavy, so he needed to rest his body for a moment.

“Your body needs time to stabilize, Master. And…” Miya’s eyes scanned the surroundings. “You only have one servant here.”

When his parents were still alive, he had many servants. But even having just one servant now already felt sufficient to him.

A moment later, Logan finally chose to sit on the stairs. He recalled everything that had happened on his birthday. Not only had he been humiliated in front of a crowd, but the people he considered family had also tried to kill him.

His jaw tightened and his expression darkened as he recalled the incident again.

“Damn it. I should have realized sooner that they were the culprits.”

He struck the wall beside him, his voice coming out hoarse. “I swear I will take revenge for what they did.”

Logan looked down at his legs. He could walk. His condition itself was a miracle, and from now on, he would truly be able to carry out his revenge.

A while later, Logan felt his stomach growl with hunger. Earlier that morning, he had only drunk coffee without eating anything. So he immediately went to the dining room, where he met Lori.

“I’m sorry, Master. But we don’t have any food supplies.”

“What?”

Logan was genuinely shocked by this. He couldn’t believe it—after receiving a large mansion and a maid, he didn’t even have any food to eat.

“You can’t ask for more than that, Master.” Miya’s voice sounded slightly teasing.

Finding no other choice, Logan, with Lori’s help, went to the nearest supermarket from their home. It was actually quite difficult since he had to walk. But fortunately, Logan still had his wallet with him.

Inside his wallet was an ATM card. He was indeed in a difficult situation, but he had been doing part-time jobs since before, so he still had a few thousand dollars in his savings.

“Lori, help me.”

He asked Lori to accompany him to the ATM machine.

He felt like someone had been watching him for a while, but every time he looked around, he couldn’t see anyone at all.

Remaining cautious—because Logan didn’t want to run into anyone who might recognize him—he lowered his head. He withdrew one thousand dollars from his account. With this, he could at least buy a decent amount of groceries.

A faint smile appeared on his face. As he walked out of the ATM together with Lori, two large men suddenly pushed their way in, colliding into them.

“Hand over the money!”

They immediately pointed a knife at Logan’s face.

“What?”

Feeling offended, Logan shouted.

He had worked hard to earn this money, and right now his condition was already far from stable. Losing even a few dollars could seriously affect him.

“Give us the money!”

He shouted again.

“Master! Please help me…”

Lori suddenly screamed, her body trembling.

One of the men had taken Lori hostage, pressing a knife against her neck. He had only just met her—maybe he didn’t need to save her, but seeing the girl trembling in fear made Logan think of himself. In the end, he exhaled heavily.

“…Fine… I’ll give you the money. But release her.”

The two criminals looked at each other and nodded.

When Logan handed over his $1,000, the thieves quickly snatched it and fled the scene. Meanwhile, Lori collapsed onto the ground.

“Master… Master… I’m sorry…” her voice trembled violently.

He could see how terrified Lori was, as if she had truly been on the verge of death. But his attention was soon drawn elsewhere—a notification screen appeared in front of him again.

[You have received a reward of $100,000]

Logan’s eyes widened. A moment later, his phone vibrated, and a notification arrived. The same reward shown in the system message had truly been deposited into his account.

“H-How is this possible…?” he still couldn’t believe it.

Moments later, Miya appeared in front of him with a smile.

“You possess the Multiplier Compensation System, Master.”

Logan glanced at her slowly. He had just remembered the system again, but he still couldn’t believe he had actually received such a large compensation.

Feeling that there was still much he didn’t understand, Logan swallowed and finally asked,

“Can you explain…?”

Miya flew around him rapidly, her laughter sounding cheerful, as if she was genuinely delighted.

“Of course! It’s very simple, Master. Whenever you experience a loss, you will receive compensation a hundred times greater! This applies whenever you complete a mission or encounter certain conditions.”

Logan had never imagined he would receive such fortune. It made his heartbeat completely uncontrollable.

“I… I… so if I get… $100,000… I can receive even more if I lose something greater…” Logan muttered to himself.

Suddenly, Miya stopped moving in front of him and smiled again.

“And you might even be able to increase that compensation to more than a hundred times.”

She winked.
