They tried to kill him on his birthday—just to take all his wealth. All this time, Logan thought he had nothing. But the truth was far more cruel: all the suffering he had endured was the doing of his own uncle, who treated him like trash within the family. On the night he was on the verge of death, a goddess appeared before him. Out of pity, she granted him a system that changed everything—the Multiplier Compensation System. From that moment on, Logan’s life changed. Wealth, power, everything began to grow without limit. He no longer cared about anyone… except for one thing—revenge. He built himself into an existence with infinite wealth, someone no longer controlled by anyone. “Now… you’re begging me?” “This is my ‘kindness’—to atone for all your sins.” And for those who once destroyed him, endless suffering would be the only fitting punishment.

Chapter 1

Logan Harry lay sprawled in the middle of the road, blood pooling around him. He had just turned eighteen today, and there was no celebration for his birthday—only an unexpected “surprise” that marked the end of his life.

He was the sole survivor of the Harry family, who had perished in a fire five years ago. On that terrifying night, both of his parents had died.

“Uh… why…?” His voice was hoarse as he forced the words out.

The rain poured heavily. The road he lay on was eerily silent, far from any settlement.

This was a border road in the nation of Norsein, surrounded by towering ancient trees.

Before him stood a pair of legs. Leather shoes of exceptional quality. The man wearing them casually exhaled a puff of cigar smoke, completely indifferent.

Several umbrellas had been opened beneath the rain, like blooming flowers—or perhaps, flowers of death for Logan.

“Tch. Troublesome. It’s your fault, your father wanted to take everything,” Blake clicked his tongue.

He smirked as he watched the man in front of him inch closer to death, suffering with every passing second.

“Don’t blame your uncle. It’s your parents’ fault—they were the ones who didn’t leave that fortune to me.”

Deliberately, he stepped on Logan’s hand.

“Ah, he’s just like his parents, Blake.” A woman beside him flicked her hair back. “Enough. Don’t waste too much time here. I still need to do my nails with a nice design later.”

Ellen blew on her fingernails. As she looked down at Logan, she clicked her tongue in disdain.

The sound of rain was deafening. Logan’s breathing grew ragged as he watched the people he once trusted act like this. They had stabbed him in the stomach and crushed both of his legs.

“I… ugh… I should’ve realized sooner…”

Blake and Ellen were his uncle and aunt. All this time, he had been staying in their house—not for free. Logan had worked tirelessly, doing everything he could so that his uncle’s family wouldn’t see him as a burden.

He was only eighteen, but he possessed extraordinary talent in business. And eventually, he realized that Blake had something to do with the fire incident.

But the moment he tried to ask about it, his uncle brought him here.

Logan’s tears mixed with the pouring rain, becoming invisible under the storm. This betrayal made him feel even more foolish. He was truly an idiot for ever considering them family.

“Yes. You really do need to disappear. Wealth?” Ellen raised one eyebrow. “Don’t be so shameless. That wealth belongs to us. You’ve already been declared dead today.”

She sneered.

“It’s not my fault, Logan.”

After saying that, Blake kicked Logan’s head. This time, it weakened him even further—perhaps he would not last much longer. Meanwhile, the people who had injured him had already turned away, getting back into their car and leaving.

His parents had left all their wealth to him, something that was revealed when he turned eighteen.

Today was his birthday, and today was also the day he would follow his parents.

“What… is that…?”

His lips didn’t move; the words echoed only inside his mind.

Logan’s vision began to blur. The heavy rain made everything feel like an illusion.

A figure of a woman, seemingly formed from the rain itself, appeared before him—touching his head with an icy coldness that sent a shiver through his entire body.

“Such a pity. What should I do about this?”

Logan blinked weakly.

She laughed. “Yes! What should we do!? Aren’t they cruel, and isn’t your fate extremely unfortunate?”

The translucent woman mocked him relentlessly. Even if he wanted to respond, Logan no longer had the strength to do so at all.

Logan had no idea what was truly happening.

From above his head, a blinding light erupted so intensely that it felt as if it would burn his vision away.

“Alright then… how about you try choosing your own fate?”

Logan’s heartbeat pounded violently, as if it might explode. A few seconds felt unbearably long, like endless torment.

And then, everything turned pitch black.

He was no longer in the middle of the road. Instead, he found himself in an unknown space, holding a big dice in his hand.

“Roll it. If you get a one, I will help you.”

Logan was filled with confusion, but deep inside, he felt an irresistible urge to do it.

As he looked down at the big dice in his hand again, he threw it exactly as he had been told.

“One.”

“One.”

He kept praying in his heart, hoping to get that number. Something extraordinary might truly be waiting for him.

And then, the dice finally stopped.

Logan’s eyes widened completely—because it landed on one.

“You’re lucky,” the woman’s voice responded.

Before Logan could even speak, something appeared in front of him.

[Fortune has chosen the most unfortunate person]

[You have obtained a system]

[Multiplier Compensation System Active]

[Congratulations, Logan Harry, age 18]

[Your health restoration is currently being amplified exponentially]

Logan blinked repeatedly, still overwhelmed with shock. But moments later, he realized his entire body was glowing with an intense light.

“Hey! What’s happening to me?”

He shouted loudly, over and over again, but received no response from the woman who had spoken to him earlier.

“What is going on with me?”

There was nothing he could do. And moments later, as his vision felt like it was going blind, he collapsed into an empty void.

He had no idea how long passed.

When Logan opened his eyes again, he was lying on a comfortable bed, with a maid standing beside him.

“Welcome back, Young Master Logan.”
