The large amount of delicious food in front of her made it difficult for her to hold back. She truly didn’t understand the man who had brought her here.

He had just lost one hundred thousand dollars at a gambling house, yet he didn’t look stressed at all. He was simply enjoying his meal calmly.

“Who exactly is this guy…?” Erica wondered inwardly.

From her observation, she still couldn’t figure him out at all. His clothes were simple, he had no vehicle, and the more she looked at him, the less she understood him.

Her stomach growled, and in the end Erica gave up trying to figure out Logan’s true identity for a moment. She started eating again and again.

Something passed in front of her, but she didn’t notice it, because the only one who could see it was Logan.

“Master, I think this woman is quite interested in you,” Miya said, touching her chin as she floated closer to Logan.

After swallowing his food, Logan spoke quietly.

“Why do you think so?”

“Because she has been watching you all this time.”

At that moment, when he looked at the woman he had brought with him, he didn’t notice anything like that. Honestly, he hadn’t been paying attention earlier because he was too focused on enjoying the delicious food. It had been a very long time since he last ate something this good.

Although he lived with his uncle’s family, he stayed in a separate part of the house that was more like a servant’s quarters.

Half an hour passed, and their peaceful meal came to an end. Erica leaned back in her chair and looked at Logan again.

“Why are you acting like that? You know you’ve already lost a huge amount of money.”

Logan calmly wiped his lips. “It’s not that much.”

In the past, of course, he would have thought it was a huge amount. He wouldn’t have been able to save that much money. His strange reply immediately made the woman in front of him raise an eyebrow.

“Are you the child of a government official? Or does your father own a big company?” she immediately formed a theory in her mind. “So you’re a hidden heir?”

Her head tilted again. Every time she looked at Logan, her expression was filled with curiosity and judgment.

“Not at all.”

His response was calm. Even though they were speaking somewhat closely now, they had only just met. The secret of the system, of course, could not be told to anyone.

A waiter approached when Logan raised his hand, placing the bill down. At that moment, Erica saw the total amount.

“Three thousand five hundred dollars.” Her voice was filled with shock.

Erica looked back at Logan again, feeling uneasy. After everything that had happened today, her brain seemed to have stopped functioning properly. She had simply followed Logan to eat at such a luxurious place without thinking.

She should have realized it earlier. They were both people who had just lost money in gambling and had no funds left. Now, even swallowing felt difficult.

Slowly, Erica leaned closer to Logan and whispered in his ear.

“Hey, is there anything you can pawn?”

“Pawn?” Logan’s response startled Erica.

She had spoken a bit too loudly, enough for the waiter in front of them to hear. Erica quickly pulled him closer again.

Her actions began to draw the waiter’s attention. She tried to remain calm, hoping her plan wouldn’t be discovered.

“You don’t have anything…?” she looked at Logan. “I think we should leave at the right moment.”

Logan did not immediately respond to Erica’s words. Slowly, he removed her hand from him and kept some distance, as he felt uncomfortable.

“I will pay.” He spoke calmly to the waiter.

Hearing his answer, Erica was genuinely irritated by the man ignoring her. “Do you think it’s just 30 dollars? You need to pay attention to the number of zeros—it’s 3,500 dollars, do you understand?” she snapped.

She couldn’t hold herself back, so her voice came out quite loud. This time, the waiter clearly heard it, and his previously friendly expression turned condescending.

“You ate here without being able to pay?” he clicked his tongue.

“You shouldn’t be eating here. People like you are truly shameful and deserve to be put in jail.”

Erica let out a heavy sigh. Today had truly been a disaster. In this situation, she felt like she was about to act out of habit.

“Sir… if we can’t afford it, we can work here. Please don’t involve the police.”

Erica tried to speak softly. Since she had been living without her family, she had done many things just to survive, including working to pay for her meals.

The waiter clicked his tongue harshly, looking at both Erica and Logan with disgust.

“I’ve seen many people like you before. After we hire you, you’ll just run away the next day.”

Suddenly, Logan stood up, startling both the waiter and Erica.

“Look! He’s going to run away now!” the waiter shouted loudly.

This time, Logan took something out of his pocket, making the waiter tense up. In an instant, Logan’s hand moved quickly toward him, causing the man to shut his eyes tightly.

“He’s going to hit me!” his heart felt like it was about to jump out.

“Hit you? I already said I will pay. I will pay.”

Every word Logan spoke was met with disbelief.

Erica also stood up, and just as she was about to approach Logan, the man—holding his phone, pointed it toward the waiter.

“I can pay. Understand?”

At that moment, it wasn’t Logan’s words that made the waiter’s eyes widen in shock—it was the balance in Logan’s account that froze him completely.

He never expected that he had just been rude to a man who had over ten million in savings. Realizing he was about to get into serious trouble because of his attitude, the waiter quickly changed his tone.

“Sir, yes, I understand. You will be paying, correct?”

He spoke very sweetly and politely, then quickly handled the payment.

“The payment is complete, sir. You are truly an exceptional customer.”

The waiter’s face was glowing with satisfaction because he would no longer face a salary deduction just because someone failed to pay.

After finishing their meal, Logan left, followed by Erica. Now, her confusion had only grown even more than before. One more thing she realized made her immediately grab Logan’s hand.

“Hey, what’s your name?” she looked at Logan. “I’m Erica.”

Her eyes never left him, and Logan responded by gently pulling his hand away from hers.

“Logan.”

Logan’s answer made Erica smile. Filled with excitement, she quickly pulled out her phone.

“Your number. I want your number.”

“I can’t give my number to someone I just met.” Logan replied calmly.

After that, he immediately turned around and walked away, leaving the woman behind. Erica stood still, watching his back.

“Hah, he’s so arrogant…” she whispered. “But… who is he really…?”
