Kai finally turned, slowly, with the kind of deliberate calm that felt heavier than anger. His gaze swept over the couple who were still laughing—like they were at some exclusive private joke, where he was the punchline.

He slid one hand into his pocket and tilted his head slightly. “Tell me something,” he asked, voice smooth. “Do either of you even know how much that car costs?”

The man didn’t flinch. If anything, he scoffed louder. “Tch. What does it matter?” he said, puffing his chest like a pigeon. “This is a car showroom, not an art gallery. That junk heap probably goes for five million at most.”

The sales girl's eyes went wide with panic. “Sir, that’s not—”

“Enough,” the man snapped, holding up his palm without looking at her. “Don’t bother. I know what I’m talking about. You just do your job and hand me the keys, yeah? Save your breath.”

The girl looked helplessly at Kai, uncertain whether she should argue or comply.

Kai let out a low chuckle, shaking his head as if he’d just w

The town stretched out before them, empty streets and faded city. Abigail’s group and the others came to a halt at the edge of the square, boots crunching on gravel as they scanned the horizon. But the emptiness didn’t last long. All around the ruined plaza, figures began to emerge, other sects, other alliances, faces both new and all-too-familiar, each one sizing up the competition like hungry wolves.Five groups had beaten them here or arrived at almost the same time. In a blink, the dusty square was teeming with cultivators, close to a hundred bodies in all. The air turned thick with tension, as if one wrong step would ignite the whole place. No one said a word at first, everyone was just watching, calculating, measuring who had the numbers, who had the power, who’d make the first move.Suddenly, Selene’s face lit up and she waved, her silver hair catching the sunlight. “Over here!” she called. Rina and Luna followed, grinning as a knot of girls in the distance recognized them. Ten

  • 317: The Mad Dance of Four

The men growled, furious, Qi flaring around them, the air between them trembled as Kai rolled his shoulders, his muscles tightening, bones cracking as he decided that play time's over. Then, without another word, they all moved. The first man appeared behind Kai with blinding speed, his movement technique leaving a faint blur of afterimages. His fist glowed with compressed Qi as he aimed for Kai’s spine. But Kai pivoted sharply, his right elbow flashing backward and bang! meeting the punch head-on. The impact cracked the air, dust spiraling around them.“Not bad,” Kai grinned, “but you should’ve stayed home.”He twisted, his knee snapping upward into the man’s ribs. The attacker gasped, stumbling back, blood spurting from his mouth but before Kai could follow through, another cultivator appeared at his flank, his palm glowing white.Kai ducked just as the Qi wave tore through the space above his head, slicing a clean arc through a massive rock behind him. “Alright,” Kai muttered, teet

  • 316: Clash

Kai stood still, shoulders relaxed, the three men before him puffed up their chests like roosters before a fight, their robes fluttering dramatically in the dusty wind. They were the kind of cultivators who thought volume equaled intimidation.“Boy!” the first one barked, his voice booming like a cheap gong. “You don’t know who you’re messing with! We are core disciples of our sect. Step aside before you die a death so painful, your ancestors will feel it!”Kai’s eyebrow twitched. The second one stepped forward, stabbing a finger toward him. “That woman behind you stole from us, a treasure we risked our lives for! Return her and the beast, and maybe we’ll let you crawl away with your limbs attached!”The third snorted and spat to the side. “Look at him. He doesn’t even have a weapon out! Probably one of those brainless muscle types. Kill him, and we’ll take his beast!”Kai stared blankly at them, blinking slowly as they were still talking.“Oh, there’s more?” he muttered under his bre

  • 315: Trust Issues

Kai walked through the strange wasteland grinning like a man who had just robbed Heaven’s pantry. He had entered a new place and it was a little weird. The ground in this place was cracked and dry, yet not quite desert, a few crooked trees stood scattered like survivors of some old war, but not enough to call it a forest either. It wasn’t a savannah, not a canyon, not anything that made sense and Kai hated that.He looked around, squinting at the horizon. “What the hell even is this place… a confused biome?” he muttered, kicking a rock.Still, he didn’t stop. The beast trotted beside him, tail wagging, its little wings occasionally flapping dust into his face. Kai had no destination, no plan, and not a single care in the world. His storage rings were half-filled with shiny, Qi-rich fruits, he was the definition of wealth in this realm. No matter what happened, he wouldn’t starve and neither would his greedy little sidekick, who was now sniffing at the rings like a thief plotting a mi

  • 314: Five Idiots Regrets.

The moment the five lunged at him, Kai didn’t even flinch. Their combined strike came with enough force to send dust spiraling into the air, shaking the ground beneath his feet. But Kai didn’t move. He stood right there, hands at his sides, letting the attack land squarely on him.The impact echoed and smoke and dirt exploded outward. The group stepped back, confident smirks spreading across their faces. But as the dust cleared, Kai was still standing. His clothes were torn slightly at the shoulder, but other than that… he looked bored. He looked at them, rolled his neck, and grinned. “That’s it? You all look like you trained for this moment your whole lives and that’s the best you could pull off? Come on, I’ve had mosquito bites that hurt more.”That mocking tone, smooth, calm, and insulting enough to peel pride off their bones lit fire in their eyes.“Kill him!” someone yelled again, and the five surged forward. This time, Kai moved. The fight was pure chaos. Fists clashed, kicks cr

  • 313: The Fruit, The Fools, and The Flying Copycat

Kai frowned, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked down at the arrogant group below. Some disciples stood there in shimmering white robes, their chins raised so high he wondered how they hadn’t tripped over their pride yet.“Alright,” Kai said lazily, one hand still holding the glowing fruit. “Before we go any further, I need clarification. Are you commanding me, or politely requesting me to leave this fruit alone? Because I can’t seem to tell with that tone of yours. Sounds like you’re trying to cough up superiority and choking on it.”The group stiffened, obviously not used to being questioned. Kai continued, his tone infuriatingly calm.“See, I’m a very reasonable man. I’ve got plenty of fruits already, so I wouldn’t mind leaving this one. But your tone? Yeah, that’s not something I can tolerate. Politeness is free, gentlemen. Try using it once in a while.”He leaned back against the branch, completely relaxed then he continued with a straight face, “That attitude of yours? That
