The moment Leonard laid eyes on the object in Damon’s hands, his pupils shrank.

The packaging might’ve been peeled back, but the craftsmanship...the rare markings was unmistakable.

That was his gift.

The exact one he had painstakingly prepared to make a solid first impression on the rumored heir of the Atlas Blackwood family. An ancient treasure with enough silent power to speak volumes without a single word. And now it was paraded around like a party favor.

Leonard’s heart jumped straight into his throat.

Without a word, he leaned over and yanked the item from Damon’s grasp.

“You bastard!” he barked. “Where did you get this?”

Damon blinked, stunned. “W-What...?”

Leonard didn’t wait. His fist swung fast.

CRACK.

The punch landed square on Damon’s face, splitting his lip and sending him stumbling backward into a table.

“You damn clown!” Leonard thundered, advancing with another blow. “Do you have a death wish?”

Damon clutched his bleeding lip, confusion and fear painted across his face.
