Dylan was speechless. Words had abandoned him as he stared at his wife in shock.

Emily and her boss, Oliver, stared back at Dylan. After a while, they decided not to be shocked or show remorse.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Oliver demanded "Can't you see we're busy?"

Dylan was speechless. Before he could utter another word, Oliver snapped "What? Do you feel betrayed? Why would you when you have nothing to offer her?"

At that moment, Emily scuffed as she held onto Oliver romantically. She stared at Dylan from head to toe "You look like a mess. Quite embarrassing! What makes you think someone like me will stick around with you?"

"Emily...what are you talking about...?" Dylan tried speaking.

"Shut up!" She snapped "I've already had enough of you. And I'm glad you found out, I'm tired of hiding. I've been enjoying myself with my boss for a year now and I can say it's the best choice I've made in life!"

"Sticking with you has been horror! You can't even provide anything for me! You're just useless! I suppose I made the biggest mistake in my life marrying you!"

Oliver smirked, staring at Dylan's shattered expression. "Shocked? It's true. She's too good to be with someone like you. And I'm glad she came to me! We've been happily enjoying ourselves behind your nasty back. And you finding out can't make a difference! There's nothing a poor useless man can do"

Dylan had no words. His world just came crumbling down. He couldn't believe that the wife he believed loved and supported him all these years was actually betrayed.

The lady he had a daughter with was sleeping around behind his back with his boss. He thought she was just his secretary, but it seemed they've been doing a lot of things. And now she was throwing insults at him for being poor and useless.

Dylan felt beyond broken. Her kind words back then were all lies.

"Take a look at him" Oliver laughed "He looks like a mess. I wonder what gutter he fell into now. Disgusting"

Emily made a disgusted face "it's been so embarrassing being with a cleaner like him. In glad I'll be free from this and be with you" she hugged and kissed Oliver in front of him.

Dylan was broken. And he couldn't bring himself to stay here any further and watch this while his daughter die in the hospital.

Just then, they heard a noise from the main event hall. Dylan turned in disgust and left.

Just as Dylan got to the main hall, he saw police men around. The hall was in chaos and everyone was alert.

It was said that a very important document had gone missing. Someone had stolen the Governor's document he was to use for a global deal. And the Governor, Mr Walter, had noticed.

Now the Government had summoned the police to find it. And everyone was a suspect.

Emily and Oliver Maxwell had also arrived at the scene to see the chaos.

In reality, Mr Maxwell was actually the mastermind behind this. They had planned to steal the Governor's document and use it to gain more power in the future.

But their plan had slipped and they were in danger of being exposed.

At that moment, Mr Maxwell stared at his son, Oliver. He signalled his son to do something to cover up fast.

Emily and Oliver thought for a quick solution. And Emily quickly suggested using Dylan as a scapegoat and dispose him! Oliver agreed.

The document was in the possession of one of Maxwell's worker. And Oliver had instructed this man to put the document in Dylan's pocket. He folded it and put it in his pocket admist the chaos.

And Oliver then said "I think I know who stole it! I saw him suspiciously moving around"

Everyone stared curiously as Oliver moved to Dylan "Him"

All eyes fell on the shabby looking Dylan. Dylan tried denying but Oliver put a hand in his pocket and got out the document. Everyone was beyond shocked.

"He really did steal it?!"

"Isn't he a cleaner?!"

"I thought as much! These poor brats always stealing things!"

Dylan was shocked. He tried explaining but no one was ready to listen.

"I thought as much!" Mr Maxwell said aloud "He was here begging me for money a while ago and threatening me! So I'm not surprised if he'd steal this to use it and blackmail the governor for money!"

Everyone gasped. It all made sense!

Dylan tried explaining but no one was listening. they all threw insults at him and cursed at his.

"I'm not even surprised. Poor people like him are thieves!" Mrs Thorn spoke, Emily's mother. Her family was also there at the event and had taken part in shaming Dylan.

They never liked him. They've always wanted Emily to be with a richer and powerful man like Oliver Maxwell. So they saw this as an opportunity to destroy him.

"Right! He once stole my daughter's money back then!" Mr Thorn, Emily's Father lied and all believed. Emily simply listened while smiling.

Dylan was speechless. There was nothing else he could do. He could only stare at Emily and Oliver in shock.

Because his wife he had loved for years had betrayed him and used him in this dirty game of power to dispose him for good.

The Governor scuffed "This is absurd! Take him away!" He ordered the security men.

Oliver Maxwell had offered to be the one to take him to jail "Don't worry, Governor. I'll make sure I put him in jail"

The Governor agreed as Maxwell had his men drag Dylan out of the hall after humiliating him. As they took him off, all Dylan could think about was his dying daughter...

They didn't take him to jail. Oliver and Emily took Dylan to an isolated place that night and Oliver ordered his gang to beat him up.

They beat Dylan to pulp until he was bruised and bleeding everywhere. He was extremely weak that he couldn't even get up. He was at the brink of death.

And that what they wanted. They wanted to leave him to die on the road like garbage instead of taking him to jail where he might survive.
