Leon is very relieved. His mother has just received her medication that will serve her a few more days.

She is stable now, so he can take her back home. In the taxi, he expected that his mother would be cheerful, but she is looking out of the window with a gloom around her face.

“Mum, I know that your health is not at its best, but cheer up. You have survived another day.”

Mrs Beverly Smith sighs. “Mrs Xavier didn't send the cheque to the hospital.”

Leon's heart skips several beats. Did Veronica cut off the support for his mother?

He doesn't want to be worried in front of his mother, so he just laughs.

“Oh, don't even worry about it. She was probably busy, so she will soon send it. I have been working hard for the Xavier family, they won't betray me like that.”

Returning to the house, he jumps over the fence and sneaks back into the room.

He has to quickly bathe and give Selina her drugs, before his mother-in-law finds out that he sneaked out to help his mother.

“Hello, Selina, I'm back…,” he gently opens the door with a smile, but it disappears once he sees that the bed is empty.

Has a miracle happened?! What's this?!

He looks under the bed, even though it looks stupid, and then he looks in the bathroom.

“Selina?! SELINA!!” He calls out, his heart beating with panic.

The door suddenly opens and it's almost like Leon is dreaming. Victoria is standing by the door, and right beside her is the evergreen beauty, Selina Xavier!!

She is not comatosed anymore, she is standing on her two feet, and she is just as beautiful as he has always remembered her.

Leon doesn't wait for any explanation, he rushes to her side and picks her off the ground in an excited hug.

“You are well! You are well, my wife!!” He rejoices.

Selina has been slightly standoffish with him, but as soon as he calls her his wife, she pushes him off immediately.

“Eww, what are you talking about?! Who are you referring to as your wife?!” She snaps at him. “Put me down at once!”

Leon's excitement dies down, but he drops her down gently. He is surprised that her parents didn't say anything about their marriage to her.

He turns to her mother, but Victoria doesn't say anything to help him. Instead, she snarls. She knows that he sneaked out of the house.

“Oh, Selina.” He chuckles a little. “Mother didn't tell you? You and I are married, we have been married for three years. I have been your caregiver, and I have done so with all my heart.”

The more he speaks, the more Selina looks like she wants to throw up. She holds her hand over her mouth as she turns to her mother.

“Seriously?! You allowed me to get married to the chef's son?! What the hell, mum!”

Victoria sighs as she rubs her hand against her forehead. “Selina, it's not like I had a choice. We had to keep your accident a secret, and Leon was the best option. How was I sure he would be quiet if he wasn't married to you?”

“The chef's son, mum?!” She shakes her head, annoyed. “Look at him, he still doesn't know how to dress.”

Leon looks at his shoes. They have been the only pair he has had for the last five years.

Yes, they are torn here and there, but they are very sturdy, and reliable.

He doesn't care for how he looks, he is just happy that Selina, whom he has grown fond of for the last three years, is now well.

She has thrown nothing but insults at him, but he still smiles brightly.

“Well, Selina, I would be surprised too if I was awake and married to someone too, but it's okay. I can take you out to dinner and we can get to know each other better.”

Selina recoils with disgust. “Well, that's not happening. There is no way that I will be caught out with the chef's son!”

Leon is in disdain. “But I'm your husband, Selina.”

She slaps him across his face as hard as she can.
