They haven’t even defeated the first batch, 2 more enemies that has the number of a whole platoon surged towards them.

“Argh!” they yelled as they waved their swords and pointed their guns at the heroes.

“I think this side with the newcomers you take the other, okay?” Vincent instructed.

“Don’t try and boss me around, not when you—”

“Now!”

Vincent drew his sword and rushed towards the left wing. Jessica sighed in rage. She has never felt this annoyed before. Wait. She is now confused.

“I’m supposed to be angry, but why am I feeling most of it as annoyance?” she questioned herself but there was no time to answer it as her enemies are approaching her fast.

With sway of her bawled fists, water erupted around her, and it swept away the enemies and practically drowned them. She then raised them and made the enemies burst through the ceiling and head toward the other floor. Meanwhile, Vincent was fighting his enemies with ease and like a demon. One of the enemies that was bald swung his bat

Night fell, and Vincent is now in the new dispatch unit’s room. Where the other 19 transfers were in front of monitors and wore their headsets.“Commander, we need a hotline number. What should it be?” Wyatt asked.“14215. Can it be that number?” Vincent suggested.“It’s possible, sir. Let us try registering it.” Wyatt then went to a monitor and tried to register the said number. The telecommunication company accepted it almost instantly.“Isn’t that hotline number a bit too long?” Ian pointed out.“Nonsense, the citizens will find it convenient, I’m telling you.” Vincent proudly claimed. As the number is already registered, Vincent officially commenced the dry run testing. If this truly solves their delayed response problem, then it’ll be a whole lot better. But if this failed, then that’s millions of GAMs for nothing.“David, inform the men patrolling the city to call this number if there are any disturbances.” Vincent ordered.David saluted and went on to call the men on duty. As t

The master’s degree holder then arrived. It was man, maybe in his 30s, he has thinning brown hair, and he wore round glasses. He stood in front of Vincent after saluting at him. Vincent told him to move closer.“What’s your name?” Vincent asked nicely.“Wyatt Tormer, my hero name is Wire.” Wyatt introduced.“And you have a master’s degree on information technology, right?”“Yes, sir.”“Do you know anything about creating a hotline? Like 911. But this time, my plan is to make us a direct hotline. A direct hotline in which the citizens will now not need to be redirected from another dispatcher to us. It takes a lot of time. And I think this idea might also solve our delayed response problem.” Vincent explained.“Y-Yes, sir. It’s quite easy. We first need to build our own cell tower, then have it—”“Do it. I’ll fund the project. I’ll contact my brother for the materials. Just make a plan out of it and I’m going to have him talk to you. Is that okay?” Vincent asked.“Yes, sir! I will work

A whole day has passed, and as the sun bled and the orange light shone at Rockmington, Vincent is the fifth district, cleaning up monster remains.“This is a lot, though.” Vincent disgustingly threw a corpse in a dump truck.“They kept leaking out of the forest for some reason. We need to at least have heroes patrolling the area. Both close and long-ranged combat heroes.” Vincent pointed out.The heroes with him agreed. As they finished loading up the truck, Vincent gave a green light for traffic to continue the flow, and he then went back on the rooftop of the HQ. He took stick from his pack and lights it up with his fire powers. While smokes at the rooftop, Ian arrived.“Commander.” Ian saluted.Vincent nodded as he then went back looking at the city as he leaned on the railings. Ian approached him and took out a stick too to smoke.“Nice work today. Five cases solved, three hostage situations apprehended, and a successful monster defense.” Ian pointed out.“All in a day’s work. I l

Two weeks have passed, and Vincent is now back in the streets, observing the city he swore to protect. It was another perfect day. The sun was up but it was not that hot. The citizens were doing their lives as normally as they should be. Vincent’s cape flaps behind him as the wind breeze through. He perched on a building’s gargoyle; his jet-black eyes gazed upon the beautiful city of Rockmington. A few months back, he was still a novice hero who just started his career, but now, he's a full-pledged commander. Leading his own division and rising to the prominence of the world. But after the incident of severing ties with the Amazonian Tigers, his hero ranking has dropped significantly. From fourth to a hundredth. It doesn’t bother him, though. To him, a hero’s ranking doesn’t measure the power they have. The ranking system is mainly about the hero’s popularity. As Vincent gawked at the city, his AC vibrated. He tapped it and the hologram of David appeared.“Commander, we have a hostage

Vincent kept on thinking something in his head.“What if I overdo it? What if I kill the captain? What if—”But Flames was there to remind Vincent.“Hey, brat! Don’t doubt yourself. You’ll get yourself into much trouble if you doubt yourself. Remember, in every power, there must come the weight of controlling it. That cold state of yours is nothing but a part of you. Limit your given power but also giving it all-out. Intent to win not to kill. Remember that!” Flames blared.Vincent coldly nodded and then, he gripped his sword firmly and positioned it into the Slasher-Style, but limiting it to minimal damage, Vincent is not quite sure about that. However, he does not intend to kill their captain, he just wants to prove him he deserves that spot. Anthony on the other side of the ring was also gathering strength in his arms. He was also thinking the same thing as Vincent. Anthony has to be careful, because one mishap, then the World Authority will come after him if he maims or potentiall

She’s one of the commanders who rose to that rank in just a few years in heroism. She was in her office, busy with paperwork when suddenly one of her assistants came in.“Commander.” The bald assistant saluted.“What is it this time, Eron? I’ve got tons on my plate right now. Can’t you handle it for now?” Alexis says.“Oh, I got no more paperwork to deliver today, Commander.” Eron replied as he stood in front of his commander’s desk.“Well, what is it? Better make sure it’s worth my time, huh? I’m pretty busy right now.” Alexis sighed as she typed on her laptop.“The thing is that the 16th division has called.”“The division t
