Chapter 7, My name is.

“How the hell did you become a mage?”. Elias questioned intently, he acted like he didn’t really care about being a mage but that has always been a lie, a pretend act, being raised by a powerhouse of a mage would naturally want anyone to yearn for that power. but most of all, he wanted to inherit he’s mothers legacy.

“Well it just kinda happened, I woke up one morning with my powers and then dad found tutors to teach me how to use them”. Zelda quickly replied, the look in Elias’s eyes genuinely terrified her.

“Just like that”.

“Just like that”. She reaffirms.

“Alright then, I guess they really are people out there who are just born special, like Angel... my mom”. Elias felt helpless, the one thing he actually wanted seemed like a far fetched dream, an impossibility, something he’s mother couldn’t just punch her way through and retrieve for him, for once he has to fight a battle on he’s own.

While Elias was lost contemplating he’s next move Zelda proceeded to take off her cloak, revealing her stunning features to Elias.

The glow from her eyes and hair drew he’s attention towards the uncloaked Zelda, the moment their eyes met, Elias felt an inexplicable sense of inferiority rise up from deep within him, he felt like no matter what he had to protect and serve this individual, like a commoner standing before a king, a human before a goddess, an insect underneath the shoes of a man.

“So beautiful”. Elias said bemused by her noble features.

Zelda has always been a beauty from birth, her maids adored her for it, and her peers worshiped her.

Zelda had silver flowing hair dressed in a ponytail, high bridged nose and red rosemary lips, her skin was as fair as snow, her body that of a thirteen year old, her legs were pretty tall considering she’s not much shorter than Elias that happens to be taller than most of he’s peers.

Zelda blushed, after what Elias said which only made her seem more beautiful to the point of seeming etherial.

Elias suddenly jerked awake from he’s momentary daze, he felt extreme fear for the first time ever, even more so than when he faced shadow, he felt like he would die for her the moment she ordered it, even though he already almost did, but that was by choice but this time it was like some unholy power compelling him.

Meanwhile Zelda didn’t really know what he or others felt when being within her premises, the blush on her face was still rosy, many people always praised her for her beauty making her numb to It all, but for some reason when Elias did it she felt a throb within her chest.

“Thank you”. She said shyly.

Just when Elias was about to question the absurd feeling he got after seeing her for the first time, Angel called out to both of them to come back down stairs.

Elias looked at Zelda deeply, he’s will was something forged by literal lightning, and the pounding of a powerful mage but he still almost lost himself, if that’s how he felt then how would normal humans feel.

But Zelda didn’t know what he was thinking and just blushed even more under he’s burning gaze, “come on let’s head down, Miss Angel is calling for us”. She said while walking to the door.

......

when they stepped into the living room Angel was seated on the master seat while shadow obediently sat on the ground, and strangely he didn’t mind being there even one bit.

“Lady Zelda of silver”. Angel said clearly calling out to Zelda.

Elias glanced at Zelda, finding the surname strange but familiar, where have I heard this before?,he thought.

At this point the duo made it to Angel, Angel signaled for them to sit before she continued, “Why did you run away from your guard lady silver, the common region of the city is a dangerous place for someone like you”.

It took a moment for Zelda to realize she was being scolded, you know, that thing her servants do to their children to make them feel bad about themselves, quite the new feeling to Zelda though.

“Sorry, I just wanted to explore the city on my own... I didn’t mean to make trouble for you miss”.

Shadow almost fell on his head, why the hell are you neglecting the person that actually went through all the trouble and giving all the credits to her?. But of course he didn’t really say that out loud and deep down he doesn’t mind, Angel has completely subdued him.

“Alright, it’s all in the pass now, you can stay the night, shadow will stand guard outside till tomorrow, that would be he’s punishment for attacking my son”.

Zelda responded with a bright smile, the smile even stunned Angel for a sec there, alright I’ll go make dinner, you kids have fun”.

As Angel left for the kitchen she noticed Elias’s ambiguous expression, she sighed inwardly and decided to let him solve this one on he’s own.

Angel had always called him her son regardless of the situation, and ninety percent of the time he would refute it with a random joke, he convinced himself that if he laughed it all away it wouldn’t hurt her as much as it hurts him, but he just finally realized that it wasn’t the case, every time he refuted her and she insisted and he still kept it up, oh how she must had felt back then.

Elias knew the past can’t be fixed, but they still have the present and future together, he’ll definitely make it count.

“Hey Elias”. Zelda called after waiting too long for him to break out of his stupor.

“Hmm”.

“Am sorry for not fully introducing my self, my name is Zelda silver, youngest child and only daughter of the house of duke silver of our great empire, and I’m a silver mage like my father”.

Shadow glared at her as if to say, don’t spill the beans to him dumbass.

Meanwhile angel just kept a silent watch on Elias’s response.

Elias only silently gazed at her with an unreadable expression, the room slowly became tense for some reason, even shadow felt strange before quickly dismissing it for the presence of the powerful lightning mage.

And finally, Elias replied.

“My name is Elias...”. He stopped for a moment, causing Angel to tense up, but he eventually continued, but this time boldly and proudly, even Zelda was shaken by he’s aura after he continued.

“My name is Elias Angel, I’m the only son of the military’s lightning mage Angel, I hold no noble titles nor are my a gifted individual. meaning, I’m not a mage like my mom, I lost everything to the wars the empire fought but I do not resent my country, for I shall Inherit my mother’s legacy”.
