Chapter 2: Upside Down

Damian's car had entered the dark mountain road, initially thinking that they could escape from the mysterious men. However, it was unfortunate that the traps inside the mountain road were inactive, making it even more difficult for them to escape.

"I knew something was wrong. There seems to be a traitor in our group!" Damian began to panic as he felt that his current situation was really bad. He had been suspicious for a few months with the people in his family's mafia group, but he did not expect that they would move this quickly.

"So, what should we do, Boss?" Gil tried to remain calm, but to be honest he was just as panicked as Damian.

Not waiting for Damian to think of something to get out of the bad situation, the car that was chasing them was already getting closer, even the sound of gunfire again sounded from behind making the car Gil was driving swerve.

"If it's like this then the only way is to get home. Drive as fast as you can!" Damian, frustrated with their current situation, shouted to Gil to drive faster.

Tall trees were all around them, the mountain path was getting narrower with not much room to dodge. Meanwhile, the sound of gunfire that howled in the middle of a peaceful night sounded even more eerie.

Slowly, shot after shot began to hit the car Damian was travelling in, making those inside even more anxious about what their fate would be tonight. And finally, just as they were about to reach Damian's hidden house, a car suddenly appeared from their right and hit Damian's car hard.

With that collision, the car Damian was travelling in rolled over and fell into the ravine around the mountain. Although the ravine was not too steep, anyone could still die if they fell from a height with many trees blocking it.

Seeing that Damian's car had fallen into the ravine, the chasing men got out of their cars and looked in the direction where the car had fallen.

"It looks like he's dead. Send word to Boss immediately!" said one of the men who seemed to be the leader of the group.

Confirming that Damian's car had indeed fallen into the ravine, the man grinned happily before walking away.

. . .

The last thing Damian could remember before he closed his eyes was that his car had rolled over an unknown number of times and that's when he passed out because the pain he was feeling was unbearable.

Damian didn't really remember what happened after that and when he opened his eyes again this time, he realised that the room he was currently in was very foreign to him. Damian had honestly never seen this room before.

As Damian moved his body, he immediately felt pain all over his body and when he saw what happened, he remembered what happened and it made sense why his stomach was now wrapped in a thick bandage.

"Oh my! Looks like it was a pretty bad accident," Damian muttered feeling a little grateful that he could still open his eyes at this point, as he thought he was going to die when his car fell into the ravine that night.

As Damian was checking his body, he suddenly heard the sound of a door opening. Startled by the unexpected arrival of someone, Damian looked up warily to see who had come into the room he was in.

"Who are you?!" With a serious face Damian asked his question while brandishing the fork that was somehow on the nightstand next to his bed.

"You're awake." The person who had just walked into Damian's room was a beautiful woman, who did not look afraid of Damian who was making a scary face.

"Don't come any closer, tell me who you are!" Even though it was a woman, Damian was still wary because he didn't know if this woman was a messenger from his enemies or not.

The woman also sighed when she saw how Damian was very wary of her, yes actually she understood it because what happened to Damian was very bad when she found him.

"You can call me Wendy. I found you at the bottom of a ravine in the Ash mountains." Wendy finally had to say what she knew so that Damian would lower his defenses on her a little.

"So you brought me here? Did you take me to the hospital?" Damian suspected that it would be a problem if Wendy took him to the hospital because the people who harmed him would find out that he was not dead and that would be bad news for him.

Wendy seemed to scratch the back of her head awkwardly, "Unfortunately not. For some reason I can't take you to the hospital," Wendy said feeling quite guilty that she couldn't take Damian to the hospital because there would be problems with her identity if she did that.

After hearing Wendy's answer, Damian breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good then. One more thing I want to know is did you bring my friend too?" Damian didn't know if Gil was placed somewhere else or what, but he needed to talk to Gil now.

"Your friend? I only found you alone in the car, there was no one else there but you," Wendy replied confused, as she didn't find anyone else in the car accident at the bottom of the cliff.

Damian immediately fell silent when he heard what Wendy said to him, "Then, where did Gil go?" Damian's mind began to be unable to think positively at this time especially after what happened before.

Seeing that Damian was silent and didn't say anything else, Wendy frowned curiously, "Is there supposed to be someone else there?" Wendy asked then.

Hearing that, Damian realized and shook his head, "I seem to remember wrong," he replied briefly, not wanting to continue the discussion about Gil.

"Alright then. I'm here to confirm your condition since you're awake now it's my turn to ask you." Wendy was seen dragging a chair towards the bed occupied by Damian at the moment.

Seeing what Wendy was doing right now, Damian felt that the woman who saved him was not an ordinary woman, he could feel a dangerous feeling from her right now.

Before Damian could open his voice to respond, Wendy had already spoken first to start interrogating Damian.

"Since you already know my name, now you have to tell me what yours is." Wendy asked that with a smile on her face.

However, Damian could tell that it would be dangerous for him if he did not answer Wendy's question, but of course Damian would not just obey Wendy's words.

"What if I don't want to say it?" replied Damian while throwing a cold glare at Wendy.

As soon as Damian finished his sentence at that moment Wendy grabbed the fork in Damian's hand and pointed it towards the man's neck, "Of course you're going to answer my question. Isn't that right?" Wendy said still with a sweet smile hanging on her lips.
