Cleon's First Battle

A few years since Flora's departure, Cleon has started to grow and continues to learn to develop his own magic. He began to dare to play in places far enough from his home, from walking along the river to playing in the forest. Now his routine activity is practicing swordsmanship with his father, he has grown enough and is starting to be able to counterattack.

 

That afternoon Cleon was resting because he was quite tired from practicing, there were several bruises on his cheeks. It seemed that he still couldn't beat his father.

 

"Looks like it's impossible to beat you, father," said Cleon as he caught his breath again.

 

“No, you have progressed a lot this time. If you use a sword and combine it with magic, I'm sure you will win easily."

 

"But Dad doesn't allow that in training, does he?"

 

“Hahaaa… I want you to really master the sword technique first, then you can combine it with your magic. I'm sure you'll get over it quickly."

 

While they were evaluating the results of their training, suddenly someone ran towards the two of them in a very hasty. Cleon and Dante immediately stood up and approached the person.

 

"What is it?!" asked Dante.

 

“Demon beast! They're back in the eastern forest!"

 

Hearing the person's words, Dante immediately went into the house to get his equipment. Cleon who heard the report was slightly interested in wanting to participate in hunting the demon beasts. He ran to his father excitedly.

 

"Father, I'm coming with you."

 

“No, it's too dangerous. You better stay at home and take care of your mother."

 

"But I want to come."

 

Emily walked up to the two of them with a big, passionate smile. "Looks like your daughter is all grown up now. Go, son, help your father."

 

Hearing her mother's words, Cleon smiled broadly and excitedly. Meanwhile, Dante could only shake his head because he didn't think that Emily would allow Cleon to go with him.

 

"Okay boy, let's go together!"

 

"Well!"

 

Cleon and Dante immediately went to the eastern forest by horse, the distance from the eastern forest to their house was quite far but with the speed of the horses they rode it was not a problem.

 

The eastern forest is a forest that is quite prone to the arrival of demonic beasts, because it is a very mysterious forest. None of the inhabitants dared to venture too far into the eastern forest, for it was certain that they would not return safely.

 

Dante and Cleon had arrived at the entrance of the eastern forest, they quickly entered the forest area.

 

"Be careful Cleon, stay alert."

 

"Okay Dad!"

 

The two of them started walking through the forest looking for traces of the rampaging demon beasts, suddenly they heard a scream so loud it made them immediately move towards the origin of the sound.

 

“Akhhhhhhh!!”

 

Not far from that place, they saw a woman who was running while screaming. Behind him was a giant animal chasing him.

This was Cleon's first time seeing a demon beast, he was quite surprised and gulped when he saw the size of the beast.

 

“What is a wild boar? But it's too big, and its neck is also covered in flames,” Cleon muttered.

 

"Do not be careless!" Dante shouted when he saw Cleon who looked surprised.

 

His father's shout made Cleon focus again, Dante seemed to distract the demon beast. Meanwhile, Cleon quickly helped the woman who had just been chased.

 

"Are you alright?" Cleon asked.

 

"Emm.. Iy.. yes I'm fine." The girl answered with a bit of a stutter.

 

"Wait here, I'll clean up the beast!"

 

Cleon drew closer to his Father who was distracting from the demon beast.

Dante seemed to have drawn his sword and started to attack, but the demon beast looked quite bear. Several attacks from Dante managed to slash the beast's body parts, but had no effect at all.

 

"He's strong!" mumbled Cleon.

 

As a result of Dante's attack making the demon beast even more vicious, he looks even more brutal in counterattack against Dante. But Dante didn't stay still, he who had a lot of fighting experience casually kept trying to dodge every attack from the demon beast.

 

Cleon was still standing and observing, he still didn't know what to do. In his hand was holding his magic wand.

 

Dante managed to get the demon beast into a corner, he immediately tried to slash the demon beast's head.

 

"Kyaaaaa!!! Craangg!!!”

 

Dante's slash hit the demon beast's neck right, but who would have thought that its neck was so hard that it broke Dante's sword. It made Dante surprised and the demon beast turned to attack Dante. The demon beast rammed Dante's body until he was bounced far enough, Cleon who saw the incident screamed quite hysterically.

 

“Dad!!!!”

 

Cleon had unknowingly pointed his wand at the demon beast, because his anger was overflowing when he saw his father getting hit hard. An enormous sphere of water had already formed in front of him, energy large enough to overflow to make the area around him appear like wind centered on him. He directly shot it towards the demon beast.

 

“Water Canon!!”

 

"Wooshhhhh!!! Duuaargghhh!!”

 

With a very strong attack from Cleon, the demon beast was blown far enough to hit a lot of trees. Almost all of the area was affected by Cleon's attack, until the ground that Cleon's attack crossed was scarred like a moat. Instantly the demon beast was unable to move and died from the direct hit.

 

Cleon was a little surprised because his attack power was so great, he rushed over to his father who was lying on the ground from the demon beast's attack.

 

“Father, how are you?!” Cleon asked frantically.

 

“You are indeed great Cleon, with one strike you managed to defeat that demon beast.”

 

"No, it's because Father has distracted her."

 

Dante stood holding his stomach, fresh blood came out of Dante's stomach quite profusely. Cleon was surprised to see that, he immediately raised his hand over Dante's stomach.

 

“Healing!!”

 

Cleon's healing magic worked quickly to heal the wound on his father's stomach. Now Dante started to stand up and pat Cleon on the shoulder with great pride because of his son's prowess.

 

“Good Cleon, you finished your first fight well.”

 

“This is all thanks to what Father taught me.”

 

They had just breathed a sigh of relief when they heard the sound of thunderous footsteps from the other side. Making them both immediately look in the direction of the voice.

Another swarm of demon beasts came towards them, this time their size seemed much larger than before.

 

"Not! There are so many of them,” said Dante with a little panic because his sword was broken.

 

“Wow! I don't know why I'm getting excited," Cleon said with a big smile, now his grip on the ladder was getting tighter.
