Mylos dropped his bag on the bed, then sat himself down. After bowing his head and relaxing his tensed body, he shut his eyes to think while he maintained a state of high alert incase of any ‘uncertainties'.

"Heh heh…"

He shook his head, then leaned back to lie down on the bed, opening his eyes to glare at the ceiling. In a few days, this place would be turned into another of the dreaded slaughterhouses of church rats.

Mylos shook his head and sat up again. He no longer needed to rest his mind after his acquisition of Eternal Life, he also did not need to eat. It was just the pain a demon goes through if they didn't feed.

They call it “hunger pangs”. Although he could live without feeding, he was unable to bear the pains of huger for very long. He could go weeks or more on an empty stomach, but must eat once in a while.

There was nothing ideal for him to feed on except a few humans, and maybe some livestock. Well, it will not be sufficient to quell his hunger, but maybe if he chowed down some hunters, he could last longer?

Mylos's mind suddenly went back to the group he'd came across on his way here, but after seconds spent thinking about it, he sighed and shook his head. If he attacked those guys, it would only speed up pursuers.

Exposing his targeted back just because of food is a feat no short of plain stupidity. Unless he was finally prepared to give up his life, he would avoid battling any dogs of the church around him.

"So much issues, so little solutions…”

He sighed. After two seconds of pause, he stood to his feet and took of his hoodie. After removing the contents of his back, he arranged his clothes into a pile, and placed them into a wardrobe.

Mylos took the other accessories and stuffed them into a drawer which he locked a second later. After he'd ensured everything was put in place, he yawns loudly then walked into the bathroom.

——

"Ugh!"

Aysla was blasted into a wall, blowing it apart as she hurtled further behind before loosing momentum an eternity away. Her limp body rolled across the ground before being halted by another wall.

"Kill it!"

"Don't let it escape!"

Aysla smirked coldly as she propped herself up with her sword, then straightened her back. Both her eyes gleamed as she cracked her neck, and tightened her grip around her sword, her brows furrowing.

She was sneaking after Mylos, only to step into a trap in an attempt to avoid following him too closely. Only for her to get run over by a huge truck, then attacked by a group of pathetic lowlifes!

She shattered a few bones from the impact, hoping for the wounds to heal in seconds after they were received.

Despite that, it still hurt. More than a quarter of all her bones had cracked, with one or two of her ribs already broken due to the impact. She believed all would be well in a few minutes, but was not calm.

"Demon!"

"Monster!"

Aysla chuckled as she held her broken arm, the grin on her face growing as she lowered her head to the ground, she felt annoyed. Not just by their pathetic attempts to attack her, but by her inability to foresee this.

Before any more words could be spoken, she suddenly disappeared from her spot and the head of one ‘hunter’ was sent flying. Blood sprayed around as the headless body swirled before collapsing to the ground.

"Kill it—"

Aysla smacked the man in the face — causing him to be literally blown into the air with an exploded head, blood and brain matter splattering around. Aysla cringed at the sight, retracting her gaze to focus on the others.

A gun materialized in the grip of one of her adversaries, the glint of cold steel reflecting a malevolent intent. Time seemed to slow as Aysla's gaze locked onto the firearm, her senses heightened, and her mind calculated the angles and trajectories. The tension hung heavy in the air as a primal instinct guided her actions.

Aysla's movements were a symphony of precision and fluidity. With a seamless motion, she evaded the incoming gunfire, weaving through the bullets like a flickering spectre. The gunman's eyes widened in disbelief as he struggled to comprehend the sheer swiftness and finesse of her defense.

In the span of a heartbeat, Aysla closed the distance between them, her form a blur as she closed in on the gunman. She pivoted gracefully on one foot, her leg arcing through the air in a high kick that connected with bone-crushing force against his wrist. The gun was torn from his grip, clattering to the ground as his cry of pain joined the cacophony of chaos.

Aysla's sword sang through the air, carving a path of lethal precision as she dispatched her remaining foes with calculated strikes. Each movement was a dance of death, her blade finding its mark with unerring accuracy. The assailants, once so brash and confident, now crumpled to the ground, their threats silenced by Aysla's merciless resolve.

As the last of her adversaries fell, the tension that had gripped the scene began to dissipate. Aysla stood amidst the aftermath, her chest rising and falling with controlled breaths. Her gleaming eyes scanned the carnage, the weight of her actions settling upon her like a heavy shroud.

The acrid scent of blood and gunpowder mingled in the air, a grim reminder of the violence that had unfolded. Aysla's gaze hardened, a mixture of determination and weariness etched upon her features. She wiped a smear of blood from her brow, her expression unflinching despite the toll the battle had taken.

Humans lives meant nothing to her, most especially at such dire times. Finding and securing Mylos's safety came first before everything else, sentiments aside. So, with a final glance around, Aysla dusted her clothes and turned her attention back to the pursuit of Mylos.

  • Her Father, The Hero

"Me, an old man? Youngsters of these days are so disrespectful. The eagerness to die is very amusing." The man held Karen in his arms, caressing the back of her head. He glanced at the struggling Alissa, "I can't believe what you kids are doing in my house," "Not only have you managed to put my beloved Karen in danger, you also mess up her room with your pathetic essence. I can't bear the disgust from these stupid acts." Mylos chuckled, then turned to Alissa. After seconds in silence, he approached her with his sword held tight, not dropping his guard even once. After reaching her, Mylos extended his right hand, "Come on, get up." Hearing his voice, Alissa calmed herself down. After the fog in her head cleared, she lifted her head to see Mylos extending his hand towards her. Without hesitation, she grabbed his hand — hoisting herself to her feet. "You don't need to speak for some time. We have some annoying company here. Let me handle this first before I can ask of the e

  • Old Man

"He was swept away by its tail… Thrown off balance just a second from cutting down the vicious beast…” Mylos sat down with his eyes closed. Listening to Alissa as she read the book, he let himself collapse into a state of absolute concentration. Pieces of paper and dust was cast into the air by his aura, swirling around him slowly. What can his chaos energy do? As a demon, his energy was the core of all his abilities. The energy he cultivated in himself powered his demonic arts, it allowed Mylos to unleash attacks beyond the capabilities of other demons. It allowed him to warp the space around himself, to tear through surfaces without making contact. It allowed him to practice what humans called “mana”, giving the power to utilise his chaos energy for an arsenal of new abilities. "The unbalanced knight struggled to get on his feet. A feeling of doom loomed over him as the beast marched towards him, it's eyes bright red with bloodlust…" Mylos frowned. He'd read somewher

  • Unlocking Magic With Chaos

Karen passed a book to Mylos. Bouncing around him in the mountain of books she'd built in her room which was just as massive as the one Mylos booked in the past, just that it was crowded with bookshelves and toys. "Grim Reaper…" She frowned, skimmed through a book then placed it in the slot she'd dragged it out of. After returning the book to it's slot, she dashed towards another shelf, burying her face into the books without lifting her head once. "Hmm, makes sense. Well, makes sense enough for the kind of world we were born into. There was also chances he didn't actually do this, but who cares? It is coolest for the kind of monster created, it's quite interesting!" Mylos just stood speechless. He had explained to Karen what happened as simply as he could to avoid anything confusing for the little girl. If only he knew that after he explained to her, he'd be the one thrown into confusion. "From what I understand, you must have some ability in you that aided in revivin

  • Experiment

“Knock Knock!” Mylos knocked on the door so boldly that he stunned a silent Karen who stood besides him. She compared his actions now to his reaction earlier, wondering where his earlier hesitation to even stand metres away had gone. Alissa remained silent. She didn't know why, but she was never interested in speaking unless Mylos said otherwise and just like the feeling of loyalty she had towards him, it was difficult for her to understand this as well. After three seconds of wait, there was a clamour inside the building then the sound of someone running down the stairs. After two more seconds, someone finally got the door dragged open to welcome the visitors. The woman had long black hair, a symmetrical face that was extremely similar to Karen's, and ink black eyes that gleamed in a soft light. She wore a welcoming smile on her face as she saw Mylos and Alissa behind Karen. "Mother!" Karen ran into the woman's arms. Mylos just watched in silence, the powerful Hero

  • Not Fully Dead

"Pant… Pant…" Mylos hunched over panting. He'd succeeded in a final experiment to test Alissa's limits. From attempts to cut off her limbs, to decapitation and giving strange orders, he was nothing short of amazed by what the zomb— he meant, strange human could do! Cognitive decisions could be made after receiving of an order from ‘Master’. Defensive and offensive capabilities were definitely greater than that of average humans, her ability to analyse orders and make ‘affective’ decisions is a feat Mylos found quite interesting to test for himself. So far she'd only shown a few affective decisions which rivalled his ‘absolute orders’. One was hesitation to harm him or herself, another was her disagreement with saying anything about her past whilst preferring to stay mute unless asked to speak by Mylos. Mylos has explained the situation to Aysla, and after he confirmed a lot of things before her, she didn't attempt to eliminate the zomb— strange human. Although she was sti

  • The Hidden Monster

"What did we do? I said it was an experiment, someone like you isn't supposed to know anything about it." The receptionist rolled her eyes, she didn't even blink twice as she ruthlessness played down Mylos's question. Mylos chuckled. "Someone like me?" The coldness in his eyes suddenly sharpened, and the space around him stirred as his aura began to flare, the blade in his hands grew even colder to the receptionist, a wicked glint shining on it's blade. "You can't threaten me. I won't tell you—" Mylos twisted his wrist, and in one clean stroke severed the receptionist's arm from her shoulder. Before she was able to react, his pressed his blade against her neck, this time — locking her frozen in place with widened eyes. Her severed arm shrivelled up on the ground, turning to dust in mere seconds. Although she didn't regenerate it back in a second, the blood stopped flowing as the arm slowly grew back out. She was stunned. "The next would be your head. I won't even bl
