What strategy would you use if you were trying to escape?

In most cases, you need to have a good understanding of your environment to use some of the possible places you can access to slow down your pursuers.

In my case, this place would be a narrow slit with a 4.7 meters width. Because of its small width, there can be, at most, two wolves attacking me from behind.

And I still have one explosive arrow left in my bag, which I can use to make the hill collapse on the wolves.

With that in mind, I started to use my every bit of muscle to reach that place as fast as possible. Because my body has G-- constitution, it would be impossible to maintain this kind of speed for a very long time.

And there is also the injury in my back which hurts quite a lot too.

After parrying and evading for 15 minutes, I finally managed to reach the slit and immediately fired another smoke arrow at its entrance.

I have constantly been using [Dash], and because of that, I don’t have much mana left. I can, at most, use it one more time.

However, the wolves started to adopt the smoke, and it won’t take much time for them to find me. I need to be very careful here.

I dropped one of the bodies of dead wolves behind of rock with a little noise and decided to take cover behind the cross one of it.

‘In smoke, they rely on their sense of smell, and because I have blood on their kin on me, they have been using the smell of blood to find me. However, because I threw the body of a wolf whose blood occupies the most space on my body, their sense of smell will be disturbed.’

I thought and nocked two paralyzing arrows, and it seemed I was right. They caught the bait.

Two of them immediately attacked the carcass, and I swiftly fired two poisoned arrows at them.

*Swish* *Swish*

Because they hadn’t paid enough attention to their surroundings, they were caught off guard and couldn’t avoid getting hit.

And I beheaded their head with a swift motion.

However, the other seven wolves are still chasing me, and I can’t deal with all of them right now.

The Alpha Red Wolf is also here because they are way too organized for a group without their leader.

I need to collapse the hill; there is no other way for me to get out from here with my life intact.

I decided to wait until they reached the entrance, and because of its shape, at least three of wolves will be crushed under the collapse. And if I play it right, I might even get rid of the entire herd.

First, I nocked two ice-attributed arrows to the bow and aimed at the ground. I activated my skill [Hawkeye] and located them near the entrance.

When all of them were in the area of collapse, I immediately fired two ice-attributed arrows to the ground, one to the front of them and the other to their behind.

They instantly got on alert, started to be cautious, and slowed their pace.

After that, I nocked my last explosive arrow on the bow and shot it to the weakest point of the hill.

The hill collapsed on the entire herd. Because I fired ice arrows both to their front and back when they tried to run, they lost their footing and couldn’t avoid the collapse of the hill.

I don’t think none of them survived that.

It was a well-executed plan. And with that, I decided to rest a little.

I gulped my last mana and health potions and applied an ointment to the injury on my right arm. I am not very flexible, so I can’t apply the ointment on my back.

However, I guess I got a bit ahead of myself. Because I lowered my guard and assumed they were all dead, I didn’t even bother checking.

Remember I mentioned that the Alpha Red Wolf could use magic, right? Apparently, it didn’t die under the debris.

When I saw myself getting hit by a fireball with my talent [Foresight], I instantly dodged to the right. It looks like the fall of the ceiling was not enough to kill the Alpha. However, the rest of them must be dead from the look he is giving me right now.

If looks could kill, I would be dead long ago, so it doesn’t matter if he looks at me with hatred or not. But of course, he would look like that; I killed all his herd, after all.

The Alpha Red Wolf can use fire magic. However, because it is a G-rank monster, its magic is not that powerful. But for a person who doesn’t have any strong defensive skills like me, it is quite dangerous.

‘It seems this will be a one vs. one duel. It will be a worthy ending, tho.’ I thought and decided to taunt him a bit.

“Bring it on, don’t leave the blood of your kin on the ground!” I shouted and started to fire the arrows at him rapidly.

Maybe because he lost himself in anger, he didn’t even try to avoid the arrows and started sprinting toward me while ignoring all the arrows I shot.

‘It seems like he wants to kill me before he dies. How foolish.’ I thought and immediately abandoned the bow and held both daggers with my hands.

The moment he got close enough to me, he immediately fired a fireball at me, but because I was expecting it, I threw my coat to the fireball, neutralizing it in the air.

Then I parried his claws and stabbed him in the abdomen, but I couldn’t pierce much deeper because of my lack of strength.

I judged it would be very difficult to retrieve the dagger and abandoned it instantly, and by activating [Dash], I swiftly repositioned myself on his head and stabbed him in the left eye.

*Auuuuuuuu!*

With a loud cry, he started to shake his head. I leaped back to the place where I abandoned the bow and retrieved it.

*Hrrrrrrrr*

‘He has at most one minute.’ I judged and shot two arrows at his head.

He didn’t even bother by arrows and bolted toward me while firing a huge fireball.

‘It seems he is using his life essence to burn me. If that hit me, I would be turned to ashes instantly.

I started to sprint the moment I saw him firing; however, I couldn’t avoid it and got hit by the explosion and fainted immediately.

The last thing I saw before losing consciousness was the subsidence of the land and my fall.
