Chapter 1
1. The Child Born Beneath the Black Storm
The night Kael Veyr was born, the sky turned black.
Dark clouds swallowed the moon above the Veyr Territory while crimson lightning tore endlessly across the heavens. Rain poured heavily upon the northern cliffs, shaking the ancient castle standing at the center of the territory like the arrival of an approaching catastrophe. Inside the grand manor, panicked voices echoed throughout the halls. “Lady Evelyne is losing too much blood!” “Hurry! Bring more healing crystals!” “Where are the royal healers?!” Servants rushed frantically through the corridors carrying medicine, towels, and mana crystals while the atmosphere inside the castle grew increasingly unstable. The air itself felt heavy, as though something invisible had descended upon the territory. Then suddenly— BOOM! A violent shockwave exploded throughout the manor. The floor cracked beneath everyone’s feet while several windows shattered instantly. Candles flickered wildly before bursting apart one after another. And then— Every mana crystal inside the birthing chamber shattered into dust simultaneously. Silence filled the room. The healers froze in horror while glowing fragments scattered across the floor like broken stars. “T-That’s impossible…” one old healer whispered with trembling lips. Mana crystals were treasures capable of storing spiritual energy for decades. Even high-ranking mages could not destroy them so easily. Yet now, dozens of crystals had collapsed at the exact same moment without anyone touching them. The old healer suddenly widened his eyes. “The mana…” Everyone immediately looked toward him. His expression turned pale. “It’s disappearing.” A cold chill spread throughout the chamber. The mana in the atmosphere was vanishing rapidly, as though something was devouring it from within the castle itself. Outside the manor walls, terrified screams suddenly erupted from the city below. The guards stationed atop the towers looked toward the distant northern forest—and instantly lost all color from their faces. Hundreds of glowing eyes stared back from the darkness. Monsters. Massive creatures emerged from the forest beneath the black storm while releasing deafening roars that shook the territory. Wolves with burning red eyes, armored beasts covered in black scales, and twisted creatures corrupted by mana charged directly toward the Veyr gates like a tidal wave. The clan alarms rang immediately. “MONSTER ATTACK!” “Close the gates!” “All knights to the outer walls!” Panic spread throughout the territory as soldiers rushed into formation. Archers climbed the towers while mages activated the defensive barriers surrounding the city. But even the barriers flickered unstably. The surrounding mana continued disappearing from the atmosphere itself. Meanwhile— Deep inside the birthing chamber— A newborn baby finally cried. The moment the child opened his eyes— CRACK! A pillar of black lightning descended from the heavens and struck the central tower of the Veyr Castle directly. The entire manor shook violently. Several servants collapsed screaming while pieces of the ceiling cracked apart. Lady Evelyne weakly held the newborn against her chest while struggling to breathe. Her silver hair clung to her pale face from sweat while blood stained the white sheets beneath her body. Despite her exhaustion… A gentle smile still appeared on her lips. “My son…” she whispered softly. Then suddenly— The chamber doors burst open. A tall man wearing a black military coat stepped inside with heavy footsteps that silenced the room immediately. Magnus Veyr. Head of the Veyr Clan. His sharp golden eyes scanned the shattered mana crystals, the damaged chamber, and finally— The newborn child resting in Evelyne’s arms. The atmosphere instantly became suffocating. An elder hurried inside behind him while breathing heavily. “Lord Magnus!” the elder shouted urgently. “The monsters have already reached the outer walls! The mana barriers are weakening rapidly!” Magnus ignored the report entirely. His gaze remained fixed on the infant. Slowly, he extended his senses toward the child’s body. The room became completely silent. Even the storm outside seemed distant for a brief moment. Then— Magnus frowned slightly. “There’s no mana core.” The words froze everyone in place. The healers stared at each other nervously while fear slowly spread across the chamber. Impossible. Every child born into the Veyr bloodline possessed mana. The clan itself was famous throughout the northern region for producing powerful mages and elite warriors for generations. Especially a direct descendant of Magnus Veyr. Such a child should have been born blessed with overwhelming talent. But this newborn… Had absolutely nothing. No mana flow. No spiritual energy. No core. Another violent tremor shook the castle as monstrous roars echoed faintly from outside the walls. The elder swallowed hard before speaking carefully. “Lord Magnus… this disaster began the moment the child was born.” Nobody answered. But everyone inside the chamber understood exactly what he meant. A child born without mana. A black storm covering the heavens. Mana crystals shattering. Monsters attacking the territory. Mana itself disappearing from the air. Curse. Lady Evelyne immediately hugged the baby tighter. “He’s still our son,” she said weakly. One of the healers lowered his head nervously while another stepped backward unconsciously. Fear had already begun spreading throughout the room. Magnus remained silent. His cold golden eyes never left the infant. Then suddenly— The baby stopped crying. Slowly, the newborn opened his eyes once more. Dark violet. For a brief moment, the shadows inside the chamber twisted unnaturally toward the child. The candles flickered violently while the temperature dropped throughout the room. One healer collapsed onto the floor in terror. “T-Those eyes…” A strange pressure spread silently across the chamber. Not mana. Something colder. Something emptier. And from somewhere deep beneath the castle— Something ancient stirred. A faint whisper echoed through the darkness. “…Void…” Only the child seemed capable of hearing it. The newborn quietly stared toward the storm-filled ceiling as though listening to a distant voice calling him from beyond the world itself. The elder instinctively stepped backward. “This child is unnatural…” he muttered. Outside— BOOM! The northern gate exploded apart beneath the endless black rain. Massive monsters flooded into the territory while soldiers screamed desperately across the battlefield. Blood stained the streets as buildings collapsed beneath the chaos. The once peaceful Veyr Territory had fallen into complete disaster within minutes. Yet amidst the destruction— The newborn child remained strangely calm. Far beyond the northern mountains, hidden beneath an abyss sealed for thousands of years, enormous crimson eyes slowly opened within the darkness. Massive chains trembled violently across the endless void while ancient black energy surged throughout the prison. An inhuman voice echoed endlessly through the abyss. “…He has awakened.” Countless monstrous creatures roared violently from the darkness in response. And for the first time in centuries— The Abyss answered the call of the Void.Expand

Void Core: The Last Awakener 26. The First Breach of Understanding
The alarm did not stop.It changed tone. What began as a warning sequence shifted into a continuous resonance signal, as if the estate itself had stopped trying to alert its inhabitants and instead started trying to communicate something it did not fully understand.Seraph’s eyes narrowed at the central projection. The barrier network was no longer merely flickering. It was reorganizing in layers. Not collapsing. Not failing.Rewriting.“…This is impossible,” one of the senior mages muttered. “Barrier systems don’t self-rewrite without command authorization.”Seraph didn’t respond immediately. His focus remained locked on the patterns forming across the estate’s mana grid.Kael Veyr’s presence—once confined to a single containment chamber—had begun to influence adjacent systems. Not by force. Not by corruption.By correlation.“…It’s not bypassing au

The moment Kael finished speaking, the silence inside the containment room changed. It was no longer empty. It became aware.Leon didn’t move at first. His eyes stayed locked on Kael, but his attention had already shifted beyond him—toward something unseen, something structural. The faint flicker in the barrier systems outside was not random anymore. It had rhythm.Intentional rhythm.Seraph’s voice came through the communication sigil embedded in the wall.“…Leon. Confirm what you are seeing.”Leon didn’t answer immediately. His wind mana expanded slightly, brushing against the containment field. Then he confirmed it.“…The barrier is reacting to him.”A pause.Seraph responded, slower this time.“…Not reacting. Synchronizing.”That word made Leon’s expression tighten.Kael stood in the center of the room, confused. He hadn’t moved since Leon entered. The bl

Three days passed inside containment.Kael no longer measured them clearly.Time inside the sealed room had begun to lose its structure. The mana suppression arrays did not just stabilize energy—they blurred perception. Sleep came in fragments. Wakefulness did not feel distinct. Everything existed in a continuous state between thought and silence. But the Void was consistent. That was the only thing Kael could rely on.It did not grow louder. It did not fade.It remained.“…You are tired,” the Void said softly one time, breaking a long silence.Kael lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. “Yes.”A pause.“…You are also afraid.”Kael didn’t deny it. “Yes.”The Void did not judge. It simply continued.“…Fear increases instability.”Kael turned his head slightly. “Then what am I supposed to do with it?”The black traces beneath his ski

Void Core: The Last Awakener 23. Signals Beneath the Skin
The night did not pass normally inside the Veyr estate anymore. It felt segmented.Like time itself had been divided into controlled intervals by the mana suppression arrays surrounding Kael’s sealed room. Every pulse of the barrier system sent faint vibrations through the walls, almost like a heartbeat that did not belong to any living being.Kael noticed it.Even while lying still on the bed, eyes open, he could feel the rhythm of containment. It wasn’t loud.It wasn’t aggressive. But it was constant. And constant things were harder to ignore than loud ones. The Void inside him had not spoken again since earlier. That silence should have been a relief.Instead, it felt like waiting for something inevitable.Kael slowly raised his hand, staring at the faint black traces still embedded beneath his skin. They were thinner now, almost like veins of ink trying to fade, but they r
