Chapter 8 : Surprise From the System

"So do you have anything to help me complete this quest?" asked Raphael with his hands on his hips, irritated by the System blatantly mocking him.

[Because this is just the start for the host, the system will provide a support that will help the host]

Ding!

[System has sent a gift box to Host!]

"Gift box? Then, where is the gift box?" muttered Raphael after hearing a notification buzzing inside his head.

Seeing no gift boxes nearby, Raphael circled around where he was standing looking for the contact present the System was referring to.

If System had a physical form, then by now he would have rolled his eyes lazily at what Raphael was doing.

[Oh my! The host can open the Inventory to see the gift boxes that the System has provided]

"Inventories?" muttered Raphael confusedly, but suddenly he saw a transparent window like before appear before him.

It was only then that Raphael understood what System meant. With the transparent window in front of him, Raphael could see a gift box icon in the row of Inventory boxes that the System had told him about.

Not wanting to be ridiculed by the System again, Raphael tried to press the gift box icon and an inscription appeared in front of him.

[Does Host want to open the gift box?]

[Yes | No]

Raphael directed his finger to press the word 'Yes' in front of him and something magical happened.

Ding!

[Congratulations! Host has obtained the Magic Sword]

Ding!

[Congratulations! Host has obtained the Mysterious Cape]

A sword with a shiny dark green blade, Raphael's eyes widened in fascination with the appearance of the sword he had just gotten from the System.

Intrigued by how the sword worked, Raphael also tried to swing the sword slowly a few times, he felt that he had no trouble doing it.

Whereas in the past, Raphael would find it difficult to lift an ordinary sword, seeing that now he could easily swing a sword.

"I d-didn't expect you to be so generous as to give me such a fine sword, System!" Raphael, who had never owned a sword before, did not know whether the weapon given by the System was really good or not.

[Magic Sword is just an ordinary item, you can check it by double tapping on it and information about it will be displayed]

Raphael nodded his head in understanding, apparently he could do something like that. Immediately, Raphael put into practice what the System had told him.

Raphael's right hand held the Magic Sword, then his left hand tapped twice on the blade, then a transparent window displaying information about the sword appeared.

Raphael looked at the information about the Magic Sword confusedly, he still didn't understand what was explained there.

"It seems I have to practise it directly to understand its meaning," muttered Raphael, nodding his head, then closed the transparent window regarding the sword's information.

Then, as Raphael was about to take a step, he felt something under his feet, when he looked, there lay a cloak.

"I just remembered, the System didn't just give me the sword, there's this cloak too." Raphael bent down to pick up the cloak from the ground.

Not too curious about the information about the cloak, Raphael immediately used the cloak to cover his body, he also lifted the hood of the cloak to cover his face.

"Looks like I have to cover up my identity, that's why System gave me this cloak," Raphael thought when he saw that the cloak seemed to be meant to cover his face.

Raphael was ready to start his Quest, he started looking for humans that he could find in this Dungeon. Previously Raphael had no time to explore this Dungeon.

However, now he had more than enough time to explore this Dungeon to find the humans who would become his victims.

As usual people who wanted to become an Adventurer had to take a test and usually that test consisted of conquering a Dungeon appearing somewhere.

Currently around twenty people had entered the Dungeon to complete their trials, but they didn't know that they were currently being targeted by someone who intended to kill them all.

Raphael wasn't in a hurry to find his first victim, he just walked slowly while looking around the Dungeon that was quite familiar to him.

Until one day, when Raphael was enjoying his time exploring the Dungeon, he heard a shout of joy from behind him.

"Hey! Look at that, there's a monster! We have to kill it and quickly finish this damn test," said one who saw Raphael's figure covered in a black robe.

Then, two more people came to join the one who shouted earlier. They immediately decided to attack Raphael who looked like a monster to them.

For some reason Raphael felt that he was neither afraid nor worried when he saw those people starting to run towards him while brandishing their weapons at Raphael.

And Raphael realised that one of the three of them was a magician. Meaning, Raphael had to be careful when dealing with them.

Due to his calm mental state, Raphael could easily see the attack paths of the two people approaching him. Instinctively, Raphael pulled his Magic Sword out and swung it to block their attacks one by one.

"Wow, it turns out I can be like this!" Raphael thought in surprise, he didn't think he could do something like that.

Not wasting the momentum he had created, Raphael continued using his Magic Sword to attack the two of them.

However, Raphael's steps stopped when he felt an ice magic attack aim at him. Raphael immediately jumped three steps back to gain distance.

Having been saved by their companions, the two men who had attacked Raphael up close earlier immediately shot Raphael a look of disbelief who was standing still where he was.

"How could there be human in this Dungeon?!" said the Magician who was among the three people, he still couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Raphael who was still gripping his Magic Sword tightly.

“W-we have to run!” Suddenly the three of them thought the same and quickly got up to escape from there, they had realised that this was very unusual.

[Host don't let them escape, chase and kill them all at once]

Raphael heard System's voice immediately ordering him to finish off the three of them.

Without thinking much, Raphael immediately readied himself to run and chase the three people. As Raphael pushed his legs to run, he felt a gust of wind helping him to run faster, so he could catch up to the three people easily.

Without hesitation, Raphael raised his Magic Sword and slashed it to decapitate the three people quickly and neatly.
