It was past midnight when he finally felt the bed dip beside him. His hand instinctively reached towards her.
He bit down on his tongue, forcing himself to remain still. Nancy leaned close and placed a kiss to his ear. “Darling, I enjoyed the dinner. You did well.” He watched her place her head on his chest, hugging him as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Xavier couldn't believe it. Moments ago, she had been with Jason. The next instant, she was with him, playing the devoted wife. He lowered his head to get a better look at her. ‘Nancy, how could all the love you've shown me over the years be an act? Do you really feel nothing for me? How could you bear to cuddle up when you detest me? Have you always been so pretentious? You should have pursued a career in acting.’ His initial image of her had been a pure girl who could do no wrong, slightly stubborn, but didn't have the capacity to commit real evil. The first day he saw her, she had been feeding an injured stray kitten, then treated its wounds. He fell for her at the spot. Her kindness tugged at his heartstrings, and several coincidental meetings that followed, with him saving her a couple of times and vice versa cemented those feelings till he became hopelessly entangled around her pinky. Now, he couldn't help but wonder if those meetings were indeed coincidences, or a cleverly woven trap by Nancy, to get him to fall into her abyss. Thinking about everything she had done to him, the agony in his heart soon gave way to anger and self loathing. He was married to her, yet never reaped the benefits of a husband. His hand wandered over her back, till they found her thighs, slowly caressing them. At once, she froze, and he felt her clutching the sheets. His eyes turned cold, but he continued to caress her anyway, bringing his lips to her neck. She had been so cruel to him, how could he bear to leave without getting payback? Since she was shameless enough to play whore for another man, he would ensure he received an equal treatment. Nancy pushed him away and sat up, turning on the bulb with a flick of her fingers. She turned to him fuming. “What's wrong with you, Xavier? Why's your hand wandering again? Do you want me to leave the room? After a hard day at the office, trying to build our company and give our family a better life, you won't let me rest. Are you a dog? Why are you always horny?” Xavier scoffed. The difference was truly glaring. With Jason, she begged for his touch, willing to go the extra mile for the incompetent fool who depended on her for money. Him? He was merely a dog before her. The expression on his face was murderous, and a hint of his old aura returned. He had lost all of his bloodthirstiness and cultivation after marrying her. Afraid that she would be affected, he set down his military boots. He reasoned that the country was now at peace, and hoped to live out the rest of his life as an ordinary family man. But the diamond he treasured turned out to be a worthless pebble—utterly useless. Nancy felt cold sweat prickle the surface of her skin, and for the first time since they got married, she felt afraid of him. She briefly sensed hatred, and the desire to kill her from him. But the unsettling feeling disappeared the next instant, leaving her wondering if she had imagined it. “Nancy, am I that disgusting to you? Why do you always say no to me? Aren't you my wife? Or are you seeing someone outside?” “Who could I be seeing?” She turned defensive, a scowl forming on her face. “You don't need to accuse me and pour dirty water on me just because I said I'm tired. Besides, your legs are crippled, how could you have the energy for such a strenuous activity?” Xavier chuckled. There were truly a thousand and one excuses she could come up with. How could lying be so easy for her? Who knew how many times in the past she had lied to him? His angel turned out to be a slick criminal. “Only my lower limbs are paralyzed. My legs never stopped us before. Or do you find me disgusting since…” “Fine fine fine.” She rolled her eyes and sighed. “If I don't give it to you, you will probably take a microphone and announce to the whole world that I'm not a good wife.” She sighed again and shut her eyes, as if preparing herself for an unpleasant job. ‘I will just consider it a send off gift for him. At least, it would make him less resentful when it's finally time to send him on his way.’ She pulled up her gown to her belly and straddled him. “It's my fault for neglecting you. I totally forgot you have a high libido. But I was truly thinking about your interest. You need as much rest as you can get due to your fast deteriorating health.” “And whose fault is it that I'm like this?” His angry snarl had her pulling back. For a nanosecond, hurt clouded her face, then guilt. “Are you regretting giving me your kidney? Are you regretting saving me from that accident? Didn't you say no sacrifice was too big as long as it made me happy? Why are you now angry with me?” Xavier forced a smile on his face. “Who said I'm regretting it? It's my duty to protect my wife…the woman I love. Nothing done between lovers is too much. Unless, you stop loving me.” Nancy looked away. His eyes felt unusually sharp that night, as if he was looking right through her soul. “It's just sex, I already said I will give it to you. Stop making me feel bad.” She smiled at him and cupped his cheek. “How about two sessions tonight?” Her palm moved over his thigh, coming to rest briefly on his bulge. Her other hand continued upwards, caressing his abs and circling his nipples. Unlike other times he could get turned on just by getting a flirtatious wink from her, or being blown a kiss, this time, his body wouldn't respond. Her touch always sent electricity through his body, making happiness bloom inside of him. Merely seeing her smile could give her butterflies. But now, he felt nothing—dead, just like the joy he thought he found. Nancy frowned on seeing that he wasn't making any efforts. Normally, he would be all over her now kissing, sucking and caressing while asking her what else she wanted to try. She frowned. Could he still be upset? She adjusted her position, bringing her lips closer to his. The moment their lips touched, memories of her using the same mouth to suck Jason off flashed before his eyes. His body revolted, disgust overwhelmed him and he gagged, quickly pushing her away. Nancy was stunned, then her face turned red with fury at the implications. “What's the meaning of this?” Xavier kept silent, clamping his hands tightly over his mouth to keep the bile down. “I have been feeling feverish and sick recently. It seems you're right, my body truly can't handle it anymore.” The anger bubbling in her chest seeped out, deflating like a balloon. In its place, guilt settled. ‘Could the poison’s fatal phase have set in?’ The thought had her pulling away. She carefully covered him with the duvet and lay beside him, but sleep was faraway from her. The wheels in her head kept turning as she calculated, coming up with methods to quickly rid of this burden.Latest Chapter

At another part of ErindorTrinity stared down at the unconscious Jason, hatred and disgust consuming her. She grabbed him and teleported to the bay area. The cold wind against his face woke him up. The first thing he saw was the crashing of waves beneath him. “No! Oooh!”“Aiya!” Trinity sneered and let go of him. His screams resounded as he fell into the sea with a mighty splash. “Trash like you dared to hurt my master? I will have to remind you where the trash belongs.”The sea was ice cold, and water was rapidly filling Jason’s mouth. Despite being a good swimmer, his limbs remained immobile. It could be fear, it could also be because whoever grabbed him did something to him. Despair, confusion, fear, all formed a horrifying mix in his mind. Something blinked a few meters away from where he was struggling. His heart jumped. A mighty fish? Shark! Screams tumbled out of his lips. However, the sea water rushing into his mouth muffled the sound. A low trumpeting sound came from t
Meaning of despair
Nancy’s heart jumped. Regret, horror, and indescribable fear chewed her whole. Just when she was sure she would splatter against the concrete floor, turning into meat paste without even a complete corpse, a miracle happened. A leg casually caught her, making her hang off it mid air. Nancy froze, then gasped, wondering why her fall got bridged. Her mid section was on a dainty outstretched leg. Her current position was undignified, most importantly, she couldn't understand how a casually outstretched leg could balance her weight. It didn't matter, all that did was that a savior had arrived. She gasped and grabbed the leg to balance herself, looking up to see her benefactor. A scream of horror escaped her lips. It was that same ghostly face haunting her. The ghost had a pair of childish pig tails, dressed in leather trenchcoat and trousers, with weapons strapped to her…a complete assassin's gear. She grinned at Nancy and waved at her, batting her lashes. A scream escaped her lips a

Crescent Waves Corporation. “Zenith group hasn't replied till now. What could be wrong? They normally got back to us within twenty-four hours. They can't be changing their minds, right?” Nancy was incredibly worried as she stared intently at the computer screen, waiting for the confirmation email. Jason patted her shoulder. “Don't worry, they will reply. They were the first to reach out, why will they back out now?”Nancy wasn't convinced, for some reason dread filled her heart. She felt hollow, it was as if something huge and unfavorable was going to happen to her. “Zenith is a big group, and there are rumors it's connected to that mysterious Dominion consortium. Crescent Wave is a new company that just rose to fame. What if they decide to work with others?”“I have someone at Zenith, I will pull strings to get you the contact. Don't worry.” Jason pinched her cheek with a soft smile, and she looked up at him. “You're still the best.” He leaned down and took her lips in a consuming

The military Jeep was speeding across the highway. The siren and the presence of uniformed soldiers riding in open trucks meant that other drivers cleared off the road as they hurried towards the Ravencrest temporary base at Serene hills, Xavier's private estate. Trinity, the auburn haired woman dressed in black leather combat attire was holding Xavier's hand, tears dripping steadily down her face. It was truly a strange sight. The deadly Trinity who single handedly killed a hundred top assassins on her own at sixteen, who never showed weakness and struck without mercy, the legendary goddess that could call down storms at will, was crying. Xavier's face was pale, totally white and he lay lifeless inside his Rolls-Royce Phantom. The seats were adjusted into a makeshift bed for him, and Trinity knelt beside him, holding his hand. “Big brother, you can't leave me. Please stay strong, we're almost there.”Therion, Xavier's left lieutenant, one of the seven members of his Heavenly Man
Daydreaming
Nancy felt her head spinning, the world around her turned blurry. Mocking words and whispers from the guests she had invited to show off permeated the room like poison. “What just happened now?”“What do you think? The people that just arrived to pick him up mentioned that she cheated on him. He must have discovered she cheated, so she wanted to kill him to hush it up.”“It must be with Jason Marlowe. I knew that bastard was up to no good, always hanging around someone else's wife like flies to rotten eggs.”“Damn! Women are vicious.”“She wasn't the one who pushed him. It seemed to be that man beside her.”“This is crazy. I can't believe she would do this after all he had done for her.” The heiress of a fashion line whispered to her friend, shaking her head. “I knew her since college, she was from an impoverished middle class family. But after she married him, he gave her his company and turned her life for the better. Who would have expected she would treat her savior like this?”
I will make you pay
Nancy frowned, staring at him. Didn't Xavier love her the most? At this point, he should have been trying to make Ethan choose him, not asking for divorce. His indifference made her angry, but she held it inside and left to bring the documents. She had been used to being treated like royalty before him. No man had pampered her the way he had, even after he lost his legs. Seeing him detached unexpectedly made her unhappy. She was the one made to kick him away, while he should be the one clinging onto her. Jason laughed the moment Nancy left. “How do you like this surprise, Mr. Genius CEO? No, you're no longer a CEO. You merged your company with Crescent waves, and resigned to take care of my son.”He laughed again, his lips curving disdainfully. “I have seen many simps, but none was quite stupid as you.”He leaned closer to him. “Nancy has never loved you, she's mine, had always been. The kidney you thought you gave her is in my belly, the son you raised is also mine. I bet you mu
