Win Or Die

Chapter seven

“That's enough!” We all looked in Winter's direction once she approached where Lucifer and King were. I was about to stop her, but suddenly Lily grabbed my arm and threatened not to interfere with them.

“I've been looking for you for a while. You're just here. Don't say that he still follows you wherever you go?” King smiled as he stared directly at Lucifer. I noticed that Lucifer was clenched in his fist and his sword was burning again in fury. King also seemed to notice that, so he raised his battle ax once he pointed it at Lucifer's neck, which surprised us all.

“Just try to move if you want to be beheaded.” When he threatens him, Lucifer gets even angrier with him.

“I said, stop! I don't want any trouble here, King. So, can we just leave?” Winter said angrily to him, so he turned his attention to her while lowering his battle ax and holding Winter tightly in the face.

“If you don't want trouble, then what are you doing here? And why are you with that traitor? Are you trying my patience, huh? Winter?” King said firmly as he stared at her sharply. I noticed on Winter's face that she was already hurt by what he was doing to her and because she and Jenny looked alike, I couldn't stand what I was seeing now, so I stepped closer to them and stopped him.

“That's enough. You've stopped, it's no longer funny what you're doing to her. Can't you see? She's already hurting.” The word suddenly came out of my mouth. Therefore, his attention went to me, and then he pushed Winter, and he focused his anger now on me.

“And who are you to interfere in this? Don't you know me? Wait, are you new here? It looks like you don't only accept traitors in your group, but also garbage like him.” King said as he watched me from head to toe with an insulting smile on his lips. I grinned and laughed out loud for a reason to stop them as they stared at me in astonishment.

I also don't know why I'm laughing, but because I can't think of anything to say to him, I just laugh because I know this is the end of my life.

Why did I interfere with them earlier? And why did I dare in front of them even though I have nothing compared my level with the level he has? So instead of crying, I just laughed like a crazy person.

Lily approached me and whispered in my ear. “Are you crazy already? What are you doing here? Don't interfere with them anymore. Just remember your own life, okay? So come on, let's go back to the back.” She said, and I nodded my head as we turned our backs on them. We were just a few steps away, but suddenly the leader of their group called me, so Lily and I stopped with a trace of fear on our faces.

“Hey, you!” King called me, but I didn't look at him, but Lily and I just exchanged glances with each other. Maybe he's not referring to me, is he? I whispered my mind, and I'm about to take another step when he shouted again.

“Are you deaf? Do you mean to ignore me? One step further, you will find your own grave.” He added, so I stiffened like a rock where I stand now, and then I slowly looked at him.

“Am I the one you're referring to?” I stuttered and asked him when he suddenly threw his battle ax towards me, but Lucifer quickly caught it before it even hit my face. So to my surprise, I even stopped my breathing, and I was just stunned. The four members of the Merciless group applauded and then approached where we were.

“You're still strong, Lucifer. You're still not losing your ability to speed. Do you want to bet with me? When you win, I'll give you what you want, even her.” At once, he pointed at Winter. “But when I'm the one who wins, your pet's life will be mine. What now? Do you agree?” He added as he looked at me with a horrible smile on his lips.

I swallowed deeply of my nervousness, especially when I heard that my life would be the substitute if Lucifer was defeated. But I have a lot of trust in him, even though we don't know each other very well. I believe that he will never abandon me and that he will never give me up on their group. But, what if they beat us? What if I thought he was wrong?

“Deal.” His response surprised us all even more. Thereafter, the group of Merciless left with Winter. While we are still stunned and cannot believe what happened.

“Is this true? We're still alive even though we face their group? My heart has been racing for a long time with so much nervousness and I feel like I'm going to faint earlier. Are you all right?” Cloud inquired as he held on to his right chest. Lily shook her head and then took a deep breath.

“No. I'm not okay. Even if we join forces to knock out their group, we can never beat them. Even if only King can fight us, it's still vague that we'll win.” Lily said as her shoulders dropped and her head bowed.

“I'm sorry. It's all my fault, if I had just restrained myself earlier it wouldn't have happened all this.” I said to them.

“At least you said something right. Yes, it's all your fault why we were all having a problem now because of the mess you made.” Alpha told me as he looked at me sharply. I didn't say anything anymore, and I just accepted every word they threw at me. Until I looked up at Lucifer's face, which had been quiet and deep in thought. Maybe he regrets now that he accepted me into their group, and hopefully, he just didn’t save me earlier so that he didn’t have a deal with that group.

“Ck.” He suddenly called me, so I immediately approached him.

“Do you still remember what you told me?” He added, but I just scratched the back of my head and turned to Lily, who also had no idea what Lucifer meant.

“You said you would do everything for me to be your master, have you forgotten?” He said, so I nodded my head. “In that case, I, Alpha, Cloud and you will fight in their group. I have a lot of trust in you, Ck. So don't let me down and don't embarrass our group, do you understand?” He added that I was surprised, at the same time I covered my mouth and I turned to Lily who was smiling and looking at me.

“Y-yes, master,” I replied to him once, he turned around and left. Lily approached me and we both smiled, even Sexy joined us except for Cloud and Alpha who still couldn't accept that I was now part of their group. But what I'm most worried about is how can I face their group with full courage if I'm only at level three, and I'm not superb at fighting yet. What if I just fail Lucifer and embarrass him in front of them all?

“I will help you,” Sexy said suddenly, so I turned to her with astonishment on my face. “I'll teach you other technics that I know so that you can use them on the day of your duo. But it's not just my skills that you should learn, but theirs as well.” At the same time, she looked in the other direction and I realized that Cloud and Alpha were the ones she was referring to me.

“For you to train your ability and control the strength you have, you first need to get their will and trust in you,” Lily said as we both followed the gaze to the whereabouts of the three; (Cloud, Alpha, and Lucifer.)
