"So, is that truly the son of your Alpha? He doesn't look it," Beowulf said to the market leader, Farkas.

"Yes, Lord Beowulf," Farkas replied

"Well, I came here to see to the peace of the market. And the gold I promised everyone, is right outside. You should know where to keep it and share it amongst yourselves, when I am gone," Beowulf added.

"Alright lord Beowulf." Farkas humbly replied

"And Lord Beowulf, I want to tell you something else,"

"What is it?"

"It's about my daughter. She is a good felan. A beautiful one. She is loyal and…"

"Farkas, we won't be talking about this again." Beowulf interrupted. Truly most of the werewolves in Noguchi know what period it is. It's the period where the son of the Ultimate Alpha looks for his mate, who will be the new Ultimate Luna.

Most older werewolves know the reason Beowulf has been coming to the city. The reason he has been going from packs to packs, visiting Alphas. Soon enough, he will be the Ultimate Alpha. The one who would have control over all of the werewolves pack. And before the ritual of ascension begins, he is supposed to have a mate.

"I have seen your daughter, and I appreciate who she is. But she isn't the mate I want. We are good friends Farkas, don't worry. When I become the Ultimate Alpha, I won't forget you." Beowulf smiled.

He knew that was a promise he might not be able to keep up with. When he becomes the Ultimate Alpha, most of his existence and actions would be guided by some principles. Principles that he doesn't have influence over.

He heard soft footsteps approaching, but he disregarded it. It was more like he expected it. The footsteps slowed down. He smiled. Then he heard staggers from the same footstep. He turned around, only to see Lady Ashina, staggering a few feet from him.

He saw the wolf, Amoux, who was with her standing in fury. Amoux's eyes weren't at Ashina but at him. It was a bloodshot gaze. There was also bloodlust feeling, but not enough to serve as a threat to Beowulf.

"Ah! I see," he smiled. He dashed towards the Lady Ashina that was falling. It felt like she lost consciousness.

"Lady Ashina!" He called her. He dashed towards her just when she was about to fall. He held her arms. He looked into her eyes. He felt the softness of her skin. Her bare skin wasn't touching his, but through her silky cloth.

"How bright and beautiful these eyes are," Beowulf thought. When he saw her earlier on, he saw the look of interest in her eyes. She looked at him with a broad smile. He saw how she had looked at him right from his hair, to his feet.

"Let's see what you can do," was his thought while he approached her then.

"I love this Lord Beowulf," she said and Beowulf smiled. Then, she passed out.

"So you did inhale me," Beowulf thought.

Everyone in the market caught a glimpse of what happened immediately as Ashina fell. They all gasped. Some felt jealous at the fact that the future Ultimate Alpha held Ashina. Some felt pity for the lady who just felt, and ran towards her.

Amoux ran to Beowulf too.

"What did you do to her?" Amoux grabbed Beowulf's hand.

Beowulf slowly raised his head. He looked into Amoux's eyes.

"For some reason, he is angry at me. Ashina, what did you say to him?" Beowulf thought. He wanted to smile, but just as slowly as he raised his head, he rolled his eyes and lowered his face.

Some people from the Volde pack ran to Beowulf and collected the daughter of their Alpha from him.

"I helped her while she fainted," Beowulf replied Amoux, yanking his hand off.

"Before then. Just when she met you at first. What did you do?" Amoux barked

"What did I do? It would save us both stress, if you will lower your voice while talking to me." Beowulf advised

"And now you are warning me uhn? You bastard from the Ultimate pack."

"Watch your words. And choose your next words carefully," Beowulf began steaming. His claws were forming out of his human form. He was ready to punch Amoux if he said another provocative word.

"Or what? Will the magic from your pack be used in punishing me?"

"No! Of course not. I would do something worse," Beowulf smiled. He was trying to keep his calm. Ordinarily he would have attacked Amoux. He felt like punching and tearing up Amoux. But the respect he got from the werewolves around, were restraining him. They would be scared of him. They probably won't want to get close to him in the future.

"Listen, little Ultimate pack. Remember my face, because just when you are about to have the best time of your life, I will sneak up to you and take it away from you." Amoux threatened with his finger pointed to Beowulf's face.

The men who came in before Beowulf, who were to serve as his guard, came to where Amoux and Beowulf were arguing. They stood before Beowulf and Amoux. Forcing Amoux to move back.

Amoux is a strong werewolf. A prospective Alpha of the Hudun pack. One of the strongest packs in Noguchi. Their military prowess is nothing to ignore. And Amoux at his least powerful, could take on three betas from his pack. He is yet to get to his prime, but when he does, he knows ten Betas will be like a walk in the park for him. Except if they were upper Betas. Then, he would have problems fighting six of them.

Just moments before, he would have punched Beowulf. Kick him, claw him up and make him apologize for how he caused discord between him and his mate-to-be, but he is a member of a secret sect of werewolves.

And in his sect, they have been advised to lay low. They should never pick a fight with any member of the Ultimate pack alone.

Good morning Sir!” a calm female voice rang past Dr. Hugh Henow’s ear, just when he took the diversion towards his office in Lagos City Police Department. Oh, God! Here we go again. Is there any day people realize that you don’t want to talk to them? That even the best greetings they offer might sound so shrill to your ears. Moments you just want to be alone.“Morning!. How are you?” he responded less aggressively than he intended to. If he gives a cold reply very early in the morning, she would be wary of coming to him throughout the day.  “I am fine sir,” she noticed the lack of interest and coldness in his reply. Now hold on. Not like she was interested in greeting him. She is only doing this because she has a message for him. Even if he is her superior, he has no right over. He is not even her employer. He kept on walking. She hurried towards him.“Dr. Williams wants to see you.” She whispered behind him. Hu

Dr. Hefner Eric has been the coroner for the Lagos state police department, Allen District for as long as his certificate was handed to him 20 years ago. He didn’t get to stay that without his super apt sense of discerning.  He was one of the best they have got and is the only one available when the need for one arrived. Despite being forty-three years old, he is still one to jump around when called to work. The reluctance other staff younger than him would show, was never in him since he began. Just like every Thursday, he was always sleeping over at the station. He was called to check out the corpse of a boy at Allison Baker's way.  A police restriction line had been created 2 hours before Dr. Hefner got there. The Lagos city Police Department had received a call early in the morning from a woman who wasn’t ready to reveal who she was."Hello. Oh my God” she cried to the phone“911. What’s your emergency”“a man is

Has anyone else planned for something and it went just according to plan? Or perhaps you didn’t plan, you only wished for it to happen and it did? Even though it is out of your control? Of course, there would be lots of people. And some never got their plans into reality because of some unfortunate factors. Sadly, Tobi belonged to the second category of people on this particular day.Since his arrival at school, he had been anticipating the arrival of Amanda Dram. The way her presence spoke to him, the way it stimulates self-calming hormones in him is something he can’t have enough of. He needed to see her. To speak to her, but she wasn’t in school. And there was no way in hell he would go meet the principal to ask him about her. That would be creepy, wouldn’t it? He doesn’t want to create a bad impression of himself to anyone yet. After school ended and he couldn’t see her, there was only one thing left for him to do. To go see his Pharmacist.<

Present-day. Open earth.“don’t… now… drink… night...” incoherent words like these were the only thing Tobi could make out from the argument of his parents.  His mother’s high-pitched voice woke him. He already knew what the situation was, but he wasn’t going to interfere. He knew what would stem out of him interfering. He could hear his dad’s sloppy voice. He didn’t bother standing from his bed.  The Christian early morning criers haven’t begun ringing their bells. Nor the Muslim’s crier. Not like he needed to worship their God, but those people were just some sort of alarm. The sudden creak of his door’s room sent chills to his spine. He jumped. He switched the light on.“Are you still sleeping, boy? Your father wasn’t home last night and you didn’t bother asking for his whereabouts?” his mom screamed. He looked at her pitiable appearance. Her hair tangled all around. Even her pajamas are rumpled. He knew she must have been in some sort of scuffle

Run my lady!" Edon cried. "Run as fast as you can." He and a female werewolf were being chased by a pack of twelve fierce-looking werewolves. They were being chased through the wood but the female werewolf can't pick up enough speed to outrun the werewolves as she would. She is the Ultimate Luna of Noguchi. A world set aside from the human world with a large amount of magic. It has a barrier that keeps its inhabitants from interfering in human lives and vice versa. She just gave birth to a werewolf half a day ago and is unable to run. She could have healed five hours after she gave birth but during the birth, she has been using her power to conceal her and her Alpha's brother's presence. Both of them had left the Ultimate den in search of a hunt or more like so she could see him hunt. Just to pass time. She had been pregnant for the past one and a half years. She was expecting the baby anytime soon but never expected it to be the day she decided to go through the woods. "My lord,

Dun knows better than rushing to the Volde pack to share information with Skoll. It's been two weeks since she and Skoll had agreed. Skoll hasn't given her enough information to convince her of who killed her daughter, but she doesn't mind sharing him information. The first time she gave him information about the Ultimate Luna and Edon. He wondered how that piece of information was useful to him. He knew they were friends. Very close one. But why does she have to make it an important issue? She noticed the disappointment on his face. The second time they met, she told him about Audolf and other things that went on, in the palace. And she mentioned Edon and the Ultimate Luna. "Do you mean both of them go into the woods, just for walks?" Skoll asked her. She could feel the restraint in his voice. He was trying his best not to get angry. "Yes! And I have been with them once. It's just Edon, her, and maybe two maids," "I see," Skoll agreed. But today, she fell out of favour with the
