CHAPTER SEVEN

We sat there all day. We even refused to go outside for some fresh air. But we had a visitor. But only to tell us that we will be locked until we are punished for causing the damage we did. And that they will get our money.

We didn’t argue. We just allowed the man to tell us whatever he was sent to tell us. But they also seemed to not know that the father of the woman they were talking about was the most feared lord all over the planets.

We allowed that to slide as well. We have other things we need to attend to. But I was relieved because he mentioned nothing about the infinite stone of mischief. Which means they touched nothing that belongs to us.

The food they brought us just sat there ever since they brought it. We just carried on formulating a plan to leave the place because Maggie was able to sense her people. They were near, and we needed to hurry the hell up.

But Talon was already working on something with the forks he got from our food. I wonder why they even thought it best to bring us forks. They should have known better. But maybe they trusted their guards more.

We all waited for him to finish with whatever he was doing. I wonder how he managed to keep the things he was using to get what he was making to work.

Maybe I needed him on my team. I was thinking about finding friends and God just blesses me with them. Fate. Ask and you will be given.

He walked to us with a tiny, weird looking thing. But it was glowing at the center of the forks. It looked like a stuff. Only that it was small. About the size on my middle finger. But thicker.

“We can use this to unlock the locks.” He pointed at me and then zapped it at the bar that held the bed together. It froze and with just one kick it shattered to nothingness.

We all looked at him. Impressed. But Twelve been friends with Talon, he bowed his head at the man. Applauding the man for yet another work.

“But how will we get past the guards? They are like hundreds and more of them,” I asked as I walked to see if anyone was eavesdropping.

“Was that not supposed to be you and your girlfriend here? I do this and then you figure out something. Twelve will find your ship. You do have one, right?”

“Yes, I do. And she is not my girlfriend. She nearly killed me, man,” I scolded.

“We can beat only as much. By we need something that will work even better for us. As he is getting the ship, we find a way out of this place,” she spoke.

There was silence for a few heartbeats, then Talon spoke with a sigh. “You can get me to the control room. I will be able to lock down some of them to buy us time. And I can come up with something that will help us.”

“What is that something, Talon?” I asked.

“You don’t need to know everything, human. Just know I will find something and get me to the control room. She will try what she will try in the meantime,” he spoke.

“Well, this is fun,” Twelve spoke and silence broke in again. But this time, it took longer to vanish.

My mind again went back to trusting them. If I was making the best decision to allow them to work with me to find the infinite stones. As I said earlier, they all have potentials off killing me or betraying me.

But was I just going to hold on to the hope that they are good? That they will work with me because of what they just told me?

It all made sense. I mean, I didn’t even know it was Xenda’s game I was playing all these years I have been leaving. All because he wanted to get the stones.

He failed to get them himself and decided to use us. I wonder if they all know what they have stumbled into. Well, not all play the game. But once you are in, you can never leave. Until death do you apart.

I looked at the thing Talon made. It was impressive. It worked on the leg of the bed and that means it can work with anything metal related. Locks, for example.

Then I just burnished the thought that hooved in my head. Betraying them will not help me in this case. They know I have the stone and they know of its value.

I’m just hoping they turn out to be better for me. I just hope they help me get the stones and we go on leaving our lives. But that is if we all have to survive what Xenda will do to us once he finds out we a looking for the infinite stones and that his daughter was working with me now.

The man will flip and I need to be ready for that. By first we need to leave this place before his people reach the place.

“Guys, we need to leave. They are just a few planets from here,” she spoke.

“But we can’t just go now. The guards are all here. At least they sleep or something. That is the only way. Other wise we are as good as dead,” I suggested as got up from the floor.

“We are dead if we stay here. We need to leave. I will distract the guards and keep them busy until you reach the control room. Twelve, you need to find the ship as soon as possible and meet us at the gate,” Twelve nodded to her.

“You can’t take on all the guards alone,” I suggested.

She walked to me and stopped about three feet from me. “Dealing, you have no idea whatever’s possible,” she smirked and looked back at Talon.

As I said. They might be my death or happy life. Because she is crazy and the cat is even more crazy.
