CHAPTER SIXTEEN

“Can’t I just come with you guys?” The kid asked.

“Moon pie, you can’t. You are way too young to come with us. You just saw what happened back there. He nearly died. And that is just half of what happens to us. Your mother needs you,” she spoke.

He scoffed as he turned to look at me. After a while, I went to take a shower and changed my clothes. I now dressed in blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Then matched it up with black boots.

“Trevor, please. I will do as I’m told and I will respect you. Even if it means I will be cooking for you. Just take me with you guys. I want to help with whatever you are doing together,” he spoke, looking at Talon.

“He will kill you if he hears you saying it. Even looking at him in that way, he will be upset. But as she told you, that was a glimpse of how dangerous it’s to hang out with us. We can’t take you. I’m going to take you home, but after we find our friend,” I told him. “Maggie, I think I lost something,” I thought hooved on top of my head. “Come,”
