In the car, Jeremy was grinning from ear to ear as he drove, when his stomach suddenly growled.

Alec looked at him with raised eye brows.

"I'm hungry, man" Jeremy said, pursing his lips.

Alec chuckled, suddenly remembering his own empty stomach. He took out his phone and started tapping on it.

"Uhh...." Jeremy glanced at him. "What are you doing?"

Alec went quiet, his face in a slight frown of concentration.

"Alec?" Jeremy called questioningly.

"Sorry" He apologized, still typing. "Just texted my dad, asking if he would like to have dinner with us somewhere, and..." He paused to read the message on his phone. "He said he's already had dinner...and I should have fun with my friend"

"Oh"

Alec kept typing on the phone.

"So what's the issue now?" Jeremy asked, noticing how focused Alec was.

"I'm trying to make reservations for us at Starlight Restaurant."

"What!?" Jeremy coughed in shock.

Alec looked up. "Is there a problem?"

Jeremy cleared his throat "That restaurant is really expensive. Went there one time with a girl, and the bill was crrrraaaazy"

Alec thought about Jeremy's words. If someone like Jeremy, who already lived a comfortable life could speak of the Starlight Restaurant bill like that, then it must be really pricey.

"But is it not a nice place?" Alec asked with a little smile.

"It is. It is" Jeremy said with a nod.

"Then let's go there" Alec said with a smirk.

Jeremy turned the car left, also smirking.

The valet at Starlight restaurant stared at Alec with a displeased frown, especially at his old shoes, but Alec looked away, and with Jeremy beside him, they strolled into the restaurant.

"Wow" Alec gaped as he stepped in.

Starlight restaurant was a spacious, well furnished place, designed only for the wealthy.

The walls were elegantly styled, and the floor spotless and glassy.

"I swear to God, I can see my future here" Jeremy whispered to Alec, who couldn't help but laugh.

"Hey, boy," A bald man, standing like a gatekeeper to heaven, sneered at Alec.

"Reservation for two. Alexander Todd" Alec simply said.

The man looked at Alec's old clothes and shoes up and down, not bothering to hide his disdain. "You do know you're in the wrong place, right?"

"God, another pompous asshole" Jeremy groaned.

The man shot a glare at Jeremy. "What are you even doing with a boy like this?" He asked Jeremy, again eyeing Alec's shoes.

Jeremy scoffed "Wait—who are you again?"

The bald man straightened up his posture "I am the maitre d' "

Jeremy rolled his eyes "The head waiter"

Alec laughed.

The man fumed. "Get out!" He barked at Alec. "This place is not for you"

Jeremy scowled "You can't just—"

"I made a reservation earlier" Alec said calmly.

"Of course you did" The head waiter said sarcastically with an eye roll. "We have strict rules here for anyone who wants to dine with us."

"Hm" Alec smiled mischievously "Rules"

"Yes" The man replied. "For example..." He shook his head at Alec's faded shirt "Our diners here must be well dressed"

Alec smirked "Well dressed, huh?"

"Yes" His voice was sharp. "We reserve the right to decline entry based on appearance"

Alec let out a short laugh "Is that so?"

"Listen...." The man rasped "This establishment caters to REFINED TASTES" He glanced at a new guest in dressed in a smart blazer and wearing a Rolex.

"Alec?" The guest called out.

"Not this guy....not this guy" Jeremy muttered under his breath.

"Sam" Alec smiled mischievously. Sam was the guest wearing a Rolex and a blazer.

"Well, well..." Sam sang "Look what the garbage truck dragged in."

Jeremy sighed exasperatedly while Alec kept a blank expression.

Sam glanced at the girl clinging to him. He was eager to humiliate Alec right here, right now "Babe, you see the poor fella, don't you?"

The girl giggled. "I see his old shoes too" She looked at Alec dead in the eye. "Looks like the ones he wore when he said 'hi' to me in 10th grade."

Sam laughed "Really?" He shook his head "You know I can't believe this place is letting trashy kids from the gutter in now"

Alec ignored Sam and his girlfriend to face the head waiter "I made a reservation here, Alexander Todd, check it"

Sam laughed mockingly "Now just because you managed to get your filthy hands on Kevin, you think you're a big deal?" He burst into laughter again. "Wake up from your dream, poor boy."

Two waiters standing nearby snickered.

"Look, y'all can't just go around treating people like this" Jeremy spoke up.

Sam sighed drammatically to mock him. "Do yourself a favour, Jeremy, and leave this poor boy. He is a charity case, you don't need him in your life for God's sake! Stop associating with him."

"He is right," The head waiter supported with a light shrug.

Jeremy scoffed. "You know this 'poor boy' can buy you..." He said to the man before turning to Sam. "And you..."

Then to Sam's girlfriend "And you too..."

He glanced around the restaurant and stared at the two waiters who had snickered earlier "and of course, you two. He's gonna buy all of you"

Everyone around laughed mockingly.

"So you think that's supposed to scare us" Sam said with a grin. "like we're supposed to be scared of this bastard?"

"Someone who's only here for leftovers" Sam's girlfriend added.

"You think I'm here for leftovers" Alec said, his lips slightly spread apart as he smiled. It was funny to him.

"You all have shallow thoughts" Jeremy remarked. "Alec is not here for leftovers like you have said..." He glared at Sam's girlfriend then continued. "He is here to buy a lot of things with his money, and like I said before....he will buy all of you" Then he leaned against Alec a little "Quick question, bro" he whispered urgently "You still have enough money to spend, right?"

Alec smiled "Yes I do"

Jeremy stood straight "We are here as guests and if you don't want to be the one getting humiliated at the end, you better do the right thing now"

Sam huffed "The right thing"

"I am doing the right," The maitre d' said confidently. "And I know the right thing is not letting someone like you, Alexander Todd, sit in this fine establishment."

"Can you at least check the reservation?" Alec asked, still calm but his eyes had grown cold.

"No." He replied harshly.

"I said..." Alec stepped forward, his voice firmer with command. "Check. The. Fucking. Reservation"

No one dared speak for almost five seconds as Alec's command had seized the noise.

"Mr Russell," Sam broke the silence. "Go ahead, check the reservation." He smiled evilly. He could easily picture Alec being driven out roughly and called a liar repeatedly.

"Ah," Sam was feeling excited already. "Things are about to get reeeeally fun." He sang, his evil imagination still playing in his head.

"You are right," Alec's eyes twinkled. "Things are about to get fun."

It's been a few hours since Chad and his minions left, and they had not appeared in the restaurant. "Are you sure he's still gonna come back?" Jeremy asked Alec eagerly. Alec raised his head and stared into space, just as he was about to say something, Chad and his guys strolled in haughtily. "Oh, God" Jeremy whispered. "They are back!" Chad marched straight to Alec's table and stood in front of him like a man ready for war, his minions as expected, emulated him. "I am back" He announced arrogantly. "Chad Williams," Alec called out loudly, rising dilatorily from his seat. "What are you doing here?" "What am I doing here?" He pointed to his own chest. "Or I should be asking what you are still doing here?" "I am having lunch." He waved his hands over the table. "You know," Chad took a threatening step forward "You're actually bolder than I thought." "So are you," Alec shot back, his voice deep, his tone menacingly slow. "You really came back" "Yeah, I came back" "Welcome bac

Chad stood with arms folded across his chest like he owned the whole space, and his minions were there, standing behind him, idiotically copying his action. "Surprised to see me?" He smiled slyly. "Of course you are." "Yeah, I am" Alec responded casually. "'Cause last I checked you were thrown out a store for acting like an annoying little prick" Jeremy laughed loudly on purpose. "How dare you" Chad growled at Alec, leaning forward, his nose flaring, his hand grabbing the front of Alec's shirt. "You little piece of shit".Alec smiled at his reaction. "I was just talking about what happened, and I had thought you would disappear, but here you are, dragging my shirt like some pained asshole.""Shut up, poor brat. You know I don't stay gone for long." Some people in the restaurant saw what Chad was doing, but they chose to ignore that because it was Chad, the 'rich guy', rough handling Alec, the 'poor guy', and they didn't care about that 'poor guy'. "So, what do you want now?" Al

In the tensed room, Mr Cole was lowkey wishing the drama would not end, but now that it had been paused, he had to hide his disappointment."Mr. Thomas" He called firmly. "Are you sure you want the seller to decide n—""Yes" Sam snapped. He narrowed his eyes at Alec. "He can't afford the mansion. He can't definitely pay a hundred and eighty million dollars, he's just playing a prank" He muttered to himself, and slowly, a smile bent his lips. "Ha. A prank that will get him in trouble.""This is how you wanna play?" Sam asked loudly. "Is this how you wanna play??" Alec asked back coolly. "I play well, and I win, Alec. Have you forgotten that?" Alec sat back in the leather chair. "Then the game is still on." ****A few moments have passed, Mr Cole finally cleared his throat to speak. "Gentlemen..." His voice was loud and solid. "I have spoken to the seller of the mansion..." He paused to give the two guys a long look. "And both offers have been reviewed." Mr Cole's assistant who ha

Alec did not reply. "Listen, Alec, this is a game for the wealthy ones only, but I am allowing you to be a part of it, so you should count yourself lucky" Sam added. Alec's eyes flashed to him. "A game." "Yes. A game," A leer crept up his face. "Or are you scared now? You want the game off?" "No..." Alec's eyes went back to the mansion listing, then back at Sam's over confident face. His jaw tightened. "The game is on, Sam""Good. Good" Sam's evil laughter echoed in Alec's ears. "And you should know that you're lucky I was not in the mood to beat your ass up the other time" "Yeah, tell him" Linda said in her irritating tiny voice. Alec glanced back and saw the object being smashed on the wall. He frowned. It was an egg. Another one came immediately and with his quick reflexes, Alec could see the object coming. For a second, it was in a slow motion. "Damn" He quickly stepped away before it could hit him on the head. He looked at the egg now broken on the floor. "what the fuck?" He cursed in a whisper. "Good morning, trash boy" A voice greeted tauntingly. Alec looked up, and just in front of his house, standing proudly near a Rolls Royce, with eggs in hands, were Sam and his girlfriend.Alec groaned in annoyance when he saw them. "What the hell are they doing here?" He asked no one in particular. "Told you that it's not over, didn't I?" Sam shouted, smirking. "Well, I meant every word." Soon, the waiter arrived with the wine, and for a second, Sam's eyes lit up. "Now..." He pointed to Alec's table, his eyes now hardened again. "You're gonna send it to that table""That...table??" The waiter asked carefully. "Yes. Alec's table." Sam confirmed firmly. "Tell him it's from Sam Thomas, and tell the poor little dick over there that 'this is not over'" The waiter blinked, his feet not moving an inch. "Tell him Sam Thomas said 'this is not fucking over'," He said again with a raspier tone. "He'll understand." The waiter hesitated but eventually went to the table to deliver the wine...and the message. "From Mr. Thomas over there" The waiter said sluggishly, feeling awkward. "He said....that..." He swallowed "That this is not over" Alec arched his brows. "I see" He stared at the wine, then clicked his tong
