Eleanor's POV

Lawrence smiled, and his fingers touched me vaguely. "Logan, don't forget, I'm also a werewolf. I know what's on your mind. As a Beta, you are so weak, because Stella is an Alpha, which makes you feel inferior, so you find this human woman."

His fingers moved to the back of my neck and suddenly grabbed my hair to show off the booty, "Human women are so fragile. They will worship you and look up to you. As long as your fangs bite gently, they'll die. You enjoy the feeling of controlling the whole situation, don't you?"

Logan picked up the chair in the room and attacked Lawrence. Lawrence pushed me away, and I hit the table next to him.

The werewolf was strong and fast. When they fought in the room; tables, chairs, and some simple furniture became their weapons, which were very fragile and vulnerable.

Logan kicked Lawrence and Lawrence fell on the sofa. Logan came up to me and took my arm as if he wanted to take me out.

But Lawrence was also very agile. He showed his fangs and flew towards Logan. "Logan, do you think you can be my opponent?" Lawrence grabbed Logan by the neck and directly lifted him, "As a Beta, you can only be a loser."

Logan took his wrist, tried to break his fingers off, and said to me with difficulty, "Eleanor, go..."

Lawrence hurt the back of his hand because of Logan's attack. He threw Logan out, and Logan hit the wall.

And I, taking advantage of this opportunity, ran out of the room. I ran down the stairs in a panic. I fell off the stairs several times because of my injury, but it didn't matter. The important thing was, I had to get out of there. But where else could I go at that time?

I wandered outside and didn't come back until very late.

I stood downstairs in my apartment and looked in the direction of my room. I hesitated. Should I go back?

Has Logan and the man left yet?

I was so scared now that I didn't want to see any of them at all.

It was two o'clock in the Vatican. The whole building was already dark.

I stood downstairs again and lingered for a long time before I finally summoned up the courage to walk to the stairs.

I carefully returned to the room and found that they were gone, so I was a little relieved. The room looked very chaotic. They smashed the furniture. The wood and daily necessities placed on it were all scattered on the ground. The curtains fell in half and hung by the window. It looked like it had just experienced a war.

This might be a little troublesome for me. Because this apartment was rented and all the furniture in it belonged to the landlord. It might face some compensation problems.

I could only clean up the mess and called the landlord to apologize.

My landlord, Mrs. Smith, was a very elegant lady. During my stay here, she often came to see me and gave me her newly baked apple pie.

I had a lot of friends here. I felt very reluctant to leave them suddenly, but I also knew that I couldn't stay here anymore.

I hoped that the memories between us would always be beautiful even if I had left.

"Mrs. Smith, I'm very sorry to disturb your rest so late." After making sure the phone was connected, I began to say, "The thing is, I damaged the furniture in your room because of some accidents, but I have to get to the airport tomorrow morning. Therefore, for the damaged things, I want to pay you by mail."

Mrs. Smith didn't seem to understand why I had to leave. "Eleanor, what happened? You don't sound very good."

I could only tell her a lie, "It's all right. Thank you for your concern. I think... I miss my family and want to go back to accompany my parents."

Mrs. Smith was very reluctant, "Oh, I'm sorry I have to separate from you. Have a good trip, honey. Don't forget to keep in touch with me."

After apologizing to Mrs. Smith, I hung up the phone and began to tidy up the things in the room so that they didn't look too bad.

After cleaning up the room, I dare not stay here. I was afraid that Logan or the man named Lawrence would come back again. I didn't want to face any of them anymore.

I arrived at the airport with my luggage. I was flying at 9 a.m. the next day, but maybe staying at the airport overnight was the best choice.

In the meantime, Logan tried to call me, but I didn't answer. He could only communicate with me by text message, "Eleanor, where are you now? Please, answer my phone."

I was sitting in the corner of the airport, worried that the man would catch up and recognize me, so I wore clothes with a hood to cover my face.

Logan texted again, "I'm all right now. Please don't worry about my safety. Lawrence didn't do anything to me after you left. I think he wants to keep us separate, torture and revenge us slowly. But don't worry, Eleanor, I'll protect you."

I didn't know what I should reply to him, but I knew that separation was the best choice. Maybe I should be more cruel, so that everyone couldn't find me, including contacting me.

Logan added, "I have to go home now. Stella doesn't seem to be doing well, but I promise you I'll divorce her."

Logan finally gave me the address of a hotel. He hoped I could go there to avoid the limelight first. He promised me that he would come to me when Stella's problem was solved. Then the last message sounded. "Even if they can control everything, I will take you away. I promise."

I didn't know how to face Logan. Logan used to be my favourite and most trusted man, but this man brought all these disasters to me.

If Logan hadn't deceived me, I would never be with him. If I hadn't been with him, the man named Lawrence wouldn't have come. I wouldn't experience the underground parking lot accident, and I didn't have to quit my favourite job and escape to Bristol.

But there was no medicine for regret in this world. We could only make up for it as much as possible before it turned into the worst result.

I sent the last message to Logan. "Logan, I used to love you, but you deceived me."

"It was because of your deception that I lived in danger and pain. Don't call me anymore. Let's break up, okay?"

I said, "I can't be with a married man. I don't want to become a home-wrecker who ruins someone's marriage."

After sending these words, I dragged Logan's number into the blacklist. I looked at the flight's itinerary and saw that my new life was coming.

Lawrence's POVThe days following my arrival at the wine estate were dull, and I seemed to have returned to my old life. Perhaps because his son Parker was just an ordinary werewolf and I was an Alpha, he relied on me more than Parker. My presence made him seem very happy even though I had refused the invitation to join them in attacking the hunters. I hated Madison, and I hated the hunters who had taken Eleanor away from me. But I couldn't hurt them because I knew that Eleanor cared about them. So when I returned to Uncle Nathan, I simply helped him with his business affairs and refrained from involving myself in matters related to attacking hunters. After finishing my day of socializing, I returned to the estate. It was raining very heavily and it reminded me of the hunter named Jon. On the day he died, it was also a rainy day. I thought of

A cab brought me to the exteriors of the wine estate but the area around the estate was heavily guarded, with bodyguards patrolling everywhere. I didn't have an invitation; it was safe to assume that they wouldn't let me in. You promised me that you wouldn't get involved in the war between werewolves and hunters. I'm sorry about today, but that was for a reason, and you know it."His expression was very cold, which reminded me of when I first met him."Yes, I did promise you, but you also promised me, didn't you? But you broke your promise. I waited for you but you didn't come. How do you think that made me feel?" There was a flash of anger in his eyes. "You disappoint me. In the living room of our villa, Lawrence had already packed our bags and prepared our tickets to Mulu. I was to go to the hospital to inform Madison that we would be leaving. Lawrence had already thought of everything, even the reason."Just tell Madison that because of my work schedule, we have to leave and might not be back for a long time. Be sure to tell her that the company would not agree otherwise," Lawrence had instructed me to tell her. Now, that was a very valid excuse. Madison would certainly understand. Although I felt some guilt, I had to do it, I needed to keep my husband and child out of danger. When I came downstairs, Lawrence grabbed me and planted a kiss on my cheek. He hugged me saying, "Eleanor, I'll be waiting for you at the airport, and after you say goodbye to Madison, meet me there, okay?"I nodded, cupped his face, and said, "We sti
