Dominic’s boss was still unconvinced.

Although the intruders stayed in the Research and Development Department for a short time, he didn’t believe that they didn’t pick anything up along the way.

“Run the report,” commanded the boss.

Even though he was panicking, Dominic forced himself to summarize the report on his tablet.

“The intruders were named Jerome and Ralph, employees of the technical team,” Dominic read the file.

“According to their team leader, he received a text to send some employees from the maintenance team to fix the elevator on the top floor.”

His brows furrowed afterward.

“But it wasn’t from my employees, especially not from me. I was on a business meeting when this happened.”

“I know,” answered the person on the other line with a smirk. “I have your entire schedule, Hawthorne. Did you forget?”

Upon hearing those words, Dominic gulped.

“Thank you…” Melissa muttered, appreciating the fact that everyone was trying to lift her emotions and confidence up. “I will do my best to learn everything.”“That’s the spirit.” Oliver smiled, lightly tapping Melissa on the arm. “I’m sure that James was also proud of you.”She nodded.Knowing James, that was a given.“Anyway, I already heard the news,” Charlie said, shifting the topic. “You lost Jack, and we had casualties.”“I’m sorry, Sir,” Oliver apologized, now using honorifics. “I didn’t notice that he had a grenade on him. We don’t have any idea how he was able to sneak it into the hospital.&r

Oliver made a promise to Kevin—that he won’t tell anyone about his situation, including the favor he asked. At the same time, Oliver was thankful. If not for Kevin entrusting him with that information, they would still be walking in the dark. They would still not know that the real enemy was just close to them. Too close. And before they knew it, everything would be taken away from them.Because Oliver, even though he had been suspecting Jack already, couldn’t find any evidence that could point to Jack as the traitor.“Wait, where is all this information coming from?” Nick asked, his tone confused. “That information you’re telling us was something we couldn’t find for a long time.”Smirking, Oliver answered, “From the flash drive James left us before Jack killed him.”“What?” Ray blinked in surprise. “It was already unlocked?”“It is.” Oliver nodded.Still, he could see the confusion in everyone’s eyes. So, he spoke again.“You’ll know once we arrive at the Legion.”“Wow,” Nick mutter

The others nodded upon hearing Oliver’s explanation.“You’re right, though,” Ray agreed. “Still, we have been with Jack for a long time. It wasn’t just companionship, but friendship. Unless… You didn’t treat him like one?”“No, I didn’t,” Oliver answered without any hesitation. “Because I treated him as a brother. Just like all of you.”And that is why, even though Oliver doesn’t show it, he was in pain because of the betrayal. But needed to stand still, not only for himself, but for all the people who were relying on him.“He may escape for now, but it won’t be for long. We’re going to find him no matter what,” Oliver added, pertaining to Jack.“And now, it will be an easy task. We didn’t lose the files in the first place. Rather, we have gathered more information because of Jack.”Nick frowned. “But all the physical copies were gone. Now that Jack turned out to be a traitor, we aren’t even sure that the digital files he said that he ‘retrieved’ were the real ones.”“It’s real,” Oliv

With his brows furrowing, Oliver looked at Jack from head to toe, trying to see if there was still any blue energy or power surrounding him.Little did Jack know, Oliver used his necklace to absorb his power, so Jack won’t be able to use it.But for some reason, the necklace had a hard time absorbing it, unlike what it did to Dexter, Anastasia, and Red’s energy before.Thankfully, Oliver didn’t find any blue energy now. But unfortunately, he noticed something else instead.“Everyone, duck now!” Oliver shouted in panic, seeing that Jack suddenly pulled something out of his pocket.A grenade.BOOM!Before Oliver could even reach them, he was thrown onto the back because of the sudden explosion. The distance between him and Jack’s location isn’t that near yet, so he didn’t gain any injuries. However, the leader and the other soldiers within the vicinity were surely in danger.“Guys, come with me!” Oliver commanded, and his entire team ran toward the area to save anyone that was still al

  • Chapter 346: Unusual Confidence

“You have two choices. Keep on fighting, or surrender,” Oliver said, his voice cold. “This is the first and the last chance I’ll give you.”Jack smirked. “Do I really have a choice? You blocked every exit where I could go. I couldn’t even use the windows now.”“And all of you were at the door. How could I run away?” he added, raising an eyebrow, his lips curving into a smirk. “You’re giving a nonexistent choice in the first place.”“You can still choose it. There is just a lower probability that you’ll succeed if you choose to fight,” Oliver answered, looking intently at Jack.“If I were you, I would rather have the second choice.”Jack snorted. Then, he raised his hands in surrender.“Alright,” Jack said, grinning. “I surrender now. Take me to the Legion and let Charlie set a punishment for me. If that’s what will make you sleep at night, then so be it.”Samuel and Nick were about to go to him, as they had prepared handcuffs for this. But they couldn’t bring a gun, given that it was

  • Chapter 345: Preplanned

Oliver blinked in mixed shock and disbelief.“You’re seriously blaming me for something you did?”“It may be something I did, but remember that there are factors for it,” Jack answered, gritting his teeth. “Everything happened because of you.”Oliver chuckled, knowing what Jack was trying to do.Jack was trying to make Oliver feel guilty for something he didn’t have any fault with.Thankfully, Oliver wasn’t the same person that Jack used to know.“If there is something that happened because of me, that is not knowing your real personality because I trusted you,” Oliver said, emphasizing every word.“That’s something I regret. But I know I can still do something about it.”Jack smirked, now standing up properly as his body had fully healed already.“Hmm…” he hummed, lifting the sleeves of his hospital gown. “And what can you do? Pin me down? Tell everyone about what you discovered?”Pausing his words for a moment, he took some steps toward Oliver, who didn't flinch even though Jack was
