‘I knew his presence was overwhelmingly strong, but this is the first time I’ve seen his eyes like this,’ Zayne thought, looking at Oliver’s face.

Oliver’s movements were too precise, embracing his fake identity, walking through the sidewalks like he belonged.Zerenette followed his lead, matching his pace, her gaze constantly shifting to observe the other people they needed to encounter as they continued with their journey. Before they could even notice it, both of them had passed through two main checkpoints already. The other residents also aren’t suspicious of them, given how good their disguise was.“Nice,” Zerenette muttered, clenching her right hand, her expression triumphant. “No one’s suspecting us. You made me worried.”“I’m sorry, but I needed to do something within my capability. I can’t let you do all the work alone,” Zerenette apologized, her breathing ragged. She added, “I want you to see that I’m no ordinary child, Oliver. Like you, I’m capable of saving myself, too.”
