The Hyperion-class stealth strike phantom moved through the air of Sector One like a ghost. Idris Cole was inside the cockpit and the soft red glow of the screens lit up his face. The vehicle's technology was amazing. Through the windshield, Idris could see the ruined city below not just with his eyes but also with special tools that showed him heat, energy and living things.
Valkyrie, the intelligence spoke smoothly. "Sovereign we are flying at four hundred feet. Our camouflage is working perfectly. The bad guys on the ground do not know we are here. We are getting close to the central subway terminal." Idris put his hands on the flight controls. He did not need to fly the craft. Valkyrie could do it herself. Idris liked feeling the power of the engines responding to his touch. His mind, which was very smart looked at the map of the ruined city. He could see groups of people moving around shown as blue spots. Rhea Knox sat next to him wearing armor that was connected to the ship's defense systems. Her silver eyes moved quickly as she looked at the data on her screen. "This level of stealth is almost impossible " she said quietly. "The central sanctuary has bombers but they are not as good as this. We could fly above Commander Briggs ' headquarters and he would not know we are there." "We will use that advantage when the time comes " Idris said, looking at the destination. "But tonight we are focused on getting resources and money. Briggs is a threat. He is a normal threat. He uses tanks, soldiers and supply lines. To beat him forever we need to be able to make things that he cannot. The Black Skull Raiders have been collecting everything they can from this sector. We are going to take it all in one night." The phantom slowed down. Started going down. They were over a sunken plaza that used to be the entrance to the subway. The concrete was. Covered in black moss. The stairs leading down were blocked with turnstiles and the remains of people who died in the panic. "Valkyrie, land the ship quietly " Idris said. "Put it in the middle of the plaza. Keep it hidden. If anything big comes near destroy it." The ship. Idris stepped out. He drew his black sword, which was very sharp. Rhea jumped down beside him holding her plasma rifle. They moved towards the subway entrance. As they went down the stairs it got colder. The air got worse. They could smell mildew, old blood and something rotten. It was the smell of the Black Skull gang. "Switch to vision " Idris said to Rhea. "Do not use lights. The tunnels will. We do not want to alert the guards." They reached the concourse, a big space with concrete pillars. The walls had ads for energy drinks and cars. The floor was wet and covered in a glowing fungus. "This is the area " Idris said quietly. "I can hear a generator and voices. Human voices." They moved forward hiding behind pillars. Idris could move quietly avoiding loose gravel and broken glass. Rhea was behind him her armor making no sound. As they approached the edge of the concourse they saw an underground cavern. The Black Skull gang had made a town there. There were shacks made from metal and train parts and big fungus farms. Hundreds of sad-looking people were working in the mud harvesting the glowing fungus. They were supervised by raiders, who were laughing and shouting at them. Rhea's voice was full of disgust. "Look at them. They are treating people like animals. This is terrible Idris." Idris looked at the scene calmly. He could see the layout of the cavern. There were forty-two raiders, four watchtowers with snipers and a big steel door, at the far end. That was the vault. "We cannot just go in and start shooting " Idris said. "If we do the raiders will. Kill the slaves. We need to get them out alive." "What is the plan Sovereign?" Rhea asked. "We will sneak in and take out the guards quietly " Idris said. "You will take the side and I will take the right. We will move in. Clear the outer ring before we strike the center. Do not use your rifle unless you have to. Use your knife and strength." Rhea. Disappeared into the shadows. Idris watched as she climbed up the wall and moved across the ceiling. He jumped down to the ground floor. He hid behind a stack of containers. He took a breath and got ready to move. Idris was walking down an alley wearing a long coat and carrying a big sword. He had a friend named Rhea who was very good at fighting. They were on a mission to take down some guys called the Black Skull gang. Idris saw a guy with a big gun and a mask on his face. The bad guy was not paying attention so Idris snuck up behind him. Stabbed him in the neck with his sword. The bad guy died instantly. Did not make a sound. Idris caught the guy's body and laid him down on the ground quietly. Then Idris got a message on his computer that said he had killed one guy and got ten points. He had a total of 864 points now. Idris kept moving. Became like a ghost sneaking around and killing the bad guys one by one. He met Rhea. They worked together to take down the rest of the bad guys. They were very good, at fighting. Killed all the bad guys without making a sound. When they were done they got another message on the computer that said they had killed fourteen guys and got 280 points. They now had a total of 1194 points. The bad guys were all dead. The people who were being held captive were very scared. Idris and Rhea did not hurt them though. Instead, they went to a metal door that was locked. The door was very strong. Idris had a special sword that could cut through anything. He used his sword to cut a hole in the door. Then he kicked the door open. Inside they found a lot of treasure and valuable things. Idris and Rhea were very happy. Relieved that their mission was finally over. Here is what they found: A lot of gold and jewels Some old. Machines A bunch of guns and ammunition Some. Water A map of the area Some other useful things Idris and Rhea took all the things and left the area. They were heroes. Had saved the day. System notification: host has completed the mission. Experience gained: 500. Current exp: 1694/1600. It was a room, as big as a basketball arena and it was filled with all sorts of valuable things. There were stacks of boxes with military symbols on them and these boxes were full of bullets and other things that can hurt people. There were also piles of medical supplies like medicine and tools that doctors use. The room had barrels of clean water and lots of heavy guns, including some that can shoot rockets. Rhea said, "This is it this is the heart of the Black Skull Syndicate." She meant that this room had everything the syndicate needed to survive. There was so much stuff that it would take a lot of big trucks to move it all. But they did not have a lot of time they only had a few minutes. Idris closed his eyes. Did something with his mind. He was using a power that let him move things into a different space. He told the system to take all the things in the room that were not alive and not attached to the floor. The system did what he said and all the boxes and guns and water barrels disappeared. The room was empty now. Idris felt happy and relieved. He said, "We have what we need now we can go back to our base and get ready for Commander Briggs." Then there was a big explosion, outside the room. It was so loud that it made the ground shake. Idris and Rhea went to look. They saw a big machine coming towards them. It was a robot suit and a mean-looking man was inside. He was Warlord Kael, the leader of the Black Skull Syndicate. Kael was very angry. He started shooting at Idris and Rhea. Idris grabbed Rhea. Pulled her to the side just in time. The bullets hit the door. Made a lot of noise. Rhea said, "We cannot fight this machine it is too strong." Idris said, "I am not going to stay and fight." He took out a grenade and threw it at the machine. The grenade. The machine got hurt. Idris ran towards the machine. He jumped up and kicked it. He used his sword to cut the machine and the man inside got hurt. The machine fell. Idris went to look at it. He found a box inside and he opened it. Inside the box was a computer that could control the defenses of the whole area. Idris said, "This is what we need to win." He turned to Rhea. Said, "The Central Sanctuary relies on machines to defend itself. If Commander Briggs comes with his army we can use this computer to control the machines and win the fight." He held out the datapad to her. Rhea Idris said, his voice sounding really powerful. I am giving you this important tool you are the leader of my army. Use it to talk to our base defenses. Rhea's eyes got big. She knew what he was doing. She reached out with her gloves and took the silver datapad. The moment her fingers touched the metal everything stopped. The big room, the broken machine and the scared people were all frozen in time. A big loud voice came from above. Ding! System said: Rhea Knox, a strong ally has taken the important tool! The tool is a code to make our area bigger and safer. The system is now doing some calculations... The system said: You have done something! You have gotten a rare and special reward! The secret code has. Become even more powerful! Idris has gotten: a strong computer to control our defenses and a plan to build a big gun in space! The computer is too advanced to be used so it has been sent to our main computer. The plan has been saved in Idriss memory. The bright light went away. Everything started moving again. Idris stood still his mind was blown by what had happened. A strong defense system. A big gun in space. He wanted to build a base to rival Commander Briggs. The system had just given him a plan to rival anyone. Rhea looked at the silver datapad in her hands she had no idea what had just happened. What do you want to do with the slaves Idris? she asked, pointing to the hundreds of people watching them. We do not leave anything behind Idris said, a smile spreading across his face. He turned to the crowd of scared people. He raised his voice it echoed through the room. You are free Idris said. The bad people are dead. This area does not belong to them anymore. I am Idris Cole.. I am giving you a choice. You can stay here. Starve or you can come with me to the surface and be part of a new empire that will never fall. It was quiet for a moment. Then a young man near the front got up. Looked at the dead body of Warlord Kael then back at Idris. He got down on his knees in the mud bowing his head. Soon all the people in the room did the same they were all surrendering to Idris. Gather your people, Rhea Idris said, turning to leave. Take them to the meeting area. Valkyrie will help them get back, to our base. Commander Briggs has thirty-six hours to get his army ready. Idris now has an army, a lot of supplies and a strong defense system. The end of the world is not a thing it is just the start of his rule.Latest Chapter
Chapter 116: Hanging Iron
Grab their hands, do not let them fall into the dark!Unit Four screamed the order, his voice cracking with sheer human panic as the back half of the transport rig suddenly hung open over the bottomless canyon. The massive rusted thumb of the World-Breaker had torn the steel doors away like wet tissue paper. Violent wind whipped through the exposed cargo bay, threatening to suck the seven shivering civilians right over the edge. The first emotional beat hit like a physical punch to Idris's chest. From the shattered windshield of the passenger cab, he looked back through the internal grate and watched absolute terror unfold. A young civilian boy slipped on the tilted metal floor, sliding straight toward the open drop. He did not even have time to scream.Unit Five dove flat onto the grated floor, extending his heavy armored arm. He caught the boy by the collar of his shirt just as his legs swung out over the abyss. Three other Vanguard clones instantly threw themselves on top of Unit F
Chapter 115: Stolen Voice
Turn the radio off before I smash it with my forehead!Rhea yelled, her hands white-knuckling the heavy steering yoke of the Syndicate transport rig. She jerked the wheel hard to the left, narrowly dodging a jagged pillar of fallen hyper-alloy that jutted out of the red sand. The entire cabin shook violently, the suspension groaning as the massive tires fought for traction in the deep dust.Idris leaned forward in the co-pilot seat, gritting his teeth against the blinding pain radiating from his broken wrists. He threw his right elbow clumsily against the center console, smashing the plastic radio dial until it completely shattered. The speakers crackled and died. The terrifying, sterile sound of his own voice giving machine commands finally stopped filling the small cabin. The first emotional beat settled over Idris like a suffocating blanket. He hated the system for many things, but stealing his voice felt like a deeply personal violation. He had spent the last week fighting to hold
Chapter 114: Rusted Giant
Get back from the edge before that thing drags us all down to hell!Rhea screamed, grabbing the back of Idris's tactical harness and dragging him away from the widening chasm. She did not have to explain the danger. The ground beneath their boots shook violently, not with an explosive sound, but with the terrifying, rhythmic thud of heavy metal slamming against the cracked earth. Two colossal hands made of ancient, rusted hyper-alloy gripped the jagged edges of the tectonic trench. Slowly, agonizingly, a massive mechanical torso breached the surface of the red desert. It had no face, just a flat, heavy iron shield where a head should be, covered in a thousand years of hardened dirt and dried black dark matter. The noise it made was not a monster's cry. It was the sickening, ear-splitting screech of unlubricated gears and grinding iron forcing itself to move after centuries of absolute silence. It is an Architect World-Breaker, Unit Four gasped, his cracked visor sparking
Chapter 113: Tectonic Trench
Aim for the main drive treads!Unit Four roared over the deafening mechanical scream of the planet tearing itself apart. The Vanguard clone did not wait for his commander to give the order. He stepped to the very edge of the jagged cliff, leveled his cracked plasma carbine, and opened fire on the colossal Architect Overseer fortress hovering fifty yards out.The blue plasma bolts splashed uselessly against the heavy void shields of the lead fortress, but it didn't matter. The rest of Squad Alpha instantly formed a firing line right beside him, unleashing a frantic barrage of suppression fire to keep the forty Syndicate dread-rigs from locking their heavy artillery onto the exposed ledge.Get the civilians behind the rocks! Rhea yelled, physically shoving two of the freed hosts behind a massive boulder just as a volley of heavy auto-cannon rounds shattered the stone where they had been standing a second before. The first emotional beat crashed into Idris as he tried t
Chapter 112: Shattered Ground
Run! Get the survivors into the lower ventilation shaft right now!Idris roared over the deafening screech of cracking bedrock as a massive rift split the vault floor wide open. Red dark matter plasma spewed upward from the mountain's core, turning the air so hot it scorched the lungs with every breath. The holographic map hovering in front of Idris's chest flashed violently in bright, blood-red glyphs. The orbital warship hanging high in the stratosphere was driving massive kinetic spikes directly into Sector Four's fault lines. It was trying to crack the entire continental shelf off the planet's crust and bury the quarantine breach forever.Unit Four gripped two of the freed hosts by their shoulders, shoving them down into a narrow iron maintenance hatch beneath the crumbling vault. Moving! Unit Four barked, his cracked visor spitting yellow sparks. Commander, the whole mountain is sliding into the lava pool! We have less than two minutes!Rhea slashed her golden b
Chapter 111: Broken Crown
Get this rock off my chest before my ribs snap!Unit Four groaned loudly in the pitch-black dust, his mechanized voice replaced by a raw, painfully human grunt.Rhea coughed violently, spitting ash from her lungs as she ignited her golden Titan-Grade blade. She did not draw it to fight; she just needed a sliver of light in the suffocating darkness. The golden glow illuminated a complete nightmare. The entire processing vault had been flattened. Thousands of tons of jagged hyper-alloy and mountain bedrock had formed a massive, unstable tomb over the violet furnace.Rhea scrambled over the shifting debris, finding Unit Four pinned beneath a massive steel support girder. Three other Vanguard clones were already digging frantically with their bare, bleeding hands, trying to free their brother while the seven freed hosts huddled together in terror nearby.I am stuck, boss, Unit Four wheezed, his cracked visor sparking weakly in the dark. The mountain is still settling. Yo
