---

The atmosphere turned cold around Lu Chang; it was certain that Qin Yue was already at work.

The Dao caves were very vast; they were created by mana imbalances. Every day, about 20 get made, and all forest creatures inhabit them, because of how rich they were in resources.

The spiders immediately hopped down in their numbers, and Qin Yue was immediately cornered as she tried to use her spatial blasts.

Ice waves rocked the cave from head to bottom, informing other creatures of their presence.

Lu Chang quickly channeled up his core as he prepared to use the Dual Spirit Storm.

He closed his hands, and no matter what, he held himself up.

Suddenly, a large storm of ice fell from above, freezing all spider creatures around her.

Just as he thought he might have conquered all of them, a few that were able to escape jumped off the roof of the cave; sharp-minded Lu Chang ducked out of the way as they fell to the ground.

'Can I control the storm?' Lu Chang thought as he began contemplating a lot of things.

Definitely, all his skills were somehow tied to that of his students, so if he had an AWS-sending fire user right now, he might have been able to create a firestorm.

Lu Chang finally closed his eyes one more time as he tried to summon the storm of ice again, but this time he tried to wield it.

It was extremely hard, as though he was pushing against solid concrete. Doubt began to creep into his mind as the spiders finally climbed onto his body.

The pain of their sharp claws sent jolts of pain and adrenaline through his body.

Their needle-like teeth started nibbling on his body as they made their way to his core.

Lu Chang could feel it; they were already digging in, only inches away from crippling him.

In the nick of time, he finally changed his plans as he grew desperate for survival.

Instead of gaining deep control, he decided to change the direction of the flow continually until it formed a mini ice tornado, raising his attackers from the ground up and striking them flat on the ground.

Dismantling them whole.

"Teacher Changgggg," Qin Yue shouted as Lu Chang turned toward her direction. She had to hold back, and it was killing her. With only her aerial attack, she was down and surrounded, and from afar it already looked like she was being devoured by them.

Lu Chang panicked and leaped forward; using the same technique, he obliterated the creatures in less than a second.

But the deed was already done; he could see a hole right where her core was meant to be. His heart shattered immediately, but there was no time wasted. He laid her carefully on the ground as the cave rattled, fragments of it falling down.

'This cave is not going to last long,' he thought, gradually turning as he sensed a gigantic spider-like creature. It had three heads and very sharp spear legs.

Lu Chang was shocked; the creature towered, slime dripping from its mouth. There was no way forward from here.

Without warning, the creature attacked again. Lu Chang jumped to the side, dodging the dagger-looking limbs of the creature. Lu Chang fell awkwardly, so he couldn't recover immediately, but strangely, the creature didn't attack him.

It was instead looking to go for Qin Yue, who was on the floor. Without even thinking, Lu Chang plunged up immediately. Out of sheer will, he summoned the Divine Storm technique yet again, but it was no use as the beast struck him hard into the wall of the cave.

Blood gushed out of his mouth as he couldn't help but watch the creature approach Qin Yue.

"This can't happen, you bastard. I will sever your head from your body, I promise," Lu Chang said in anger. He couldn't believe he couldn't even save his own student.

The beast turned and shot him a disgusting look as it approached Qin Yue's body.

[Notification!!!]

[Beast weakness discovered]

[A book has been made.]

Lu Chang's eyes widened as he read the messages.

Lu Chang had to take the gamble. The time he spent in the Divine Lust Library was not being counted as normal time; in reality, he could still move.

Lu Chang immediately entered the library; deep down, he was scared he might actually be wrong, but he had no other option. He was just in the Vein Concealment Realm, so his technique wasn't evolved; all his strikes were still weak.

The only way to survive was to know the weakness. He did it against Wei Fang—why couldn't it work against these creatures?

Lu Chang rushed through the information the library gave him; from what he could see, this beast was at the fourth level of their cultivation.

They were called Killer Spiders and attacked like other beasts, only going for the core of individuals.

Lu Chang, despite knowing this, was not satisfied; he was looking for the actual weakness. He didn't care about the history at this moment.

After searching, he finally discovered something stranger than usual; the book talked about the Queen Mother with three heads.

She was actually very vulnerable, since her core was located on her back. It wasn't as though that meant she was useless, but all Lu Chang needed to do was hit her at the exact spot, and that would be enough.

With this knowledge, he finally rematerialized in the cave, but almost immediately he could feel the huge pain wrap around him again.

The walls of the cave were already rapidly failing; it would collapse very soon.

Lu Chang only needed to strike at the back, but there was no energy to do that. Was this going to be the end? Lu Chang thought as the creature approached Qin Yue in the corner.

No, this can't be happening. He only wanted to train her, and now he might have killed them both. Lu Chang held himself up slightly, but fell down again.

Not open respect. Not yet.But no one laughed. That alone was new.---Tang Mo walked on his right, slower than usual but upright. Her injuries were real, but her posture hadn’t changed. Chin slightly raised. Eyes forward.Qin Yue walked on his left, calm as ever, her steps quiet, her presence colder than the morning air. They didn’t speak. They didn’t need to.---At the end of the stone path stood a tall, simple building. No decorations. No grand display.Just a carved plaque above the entrance:Administrative Hall---Tang Mo clicked her tongue softly.“…So it’s real.”Qin Yue’s gaze lingered on the doorway.“…It always was.”---A junior attendant spotted them immediately and straightened.“You’ve been called,”

Conversations still lingered in quiet corners, spreading in fragments - a name here, a rumor there.Tang Mo.Lu Chang.Something strange was happening.---Inside the small residence, the air was still.Tang Mo sat cross-legged on the floor, back against the wall, eyes half-closed. Her breathing was uneven at first, but slowly, gradually, it began to settle.Across from her, Qin Yue mirrored the posture.Calm.Focused.Silent.---Lu Chang stood near the window.Watching.Not outside. But them.---“Don’t force it,” he said.Tang Mo clicked her tongue without opening her eyes.“…I’m not forcing anything.”“You are.”A pause.“…Your Qi is spiking every few breaths.”---Tang Mo’s brows tightened slightly. She didn’t argue.Because she felt it too. That unstable surge beneath the surface.Like something inside her was still trying to push further… even when he

The fight had already pushed her past her limits. But her eyes remained sharp.Unyielding.Across from her, Lin Xue stood just as still. No longer untouchable. No longer distant. For the first time since the tournament began, her breathing had lost its perfect rhythm. That alone said everything.Tang Mo wiped the corner of her lips with the back of her hand and let out a slow breath.“So… this is the last one.”Lin Xue studied her quietly. Then gave a faint nod.“Yes.”No arrogance.
