The Dark Lord's Second Chance

The Dark Lord's Second Chance

They called me the Scourge of the Seven Realms. The Black Emperor. The man who'd conquered half the world before his thirtieth birthday. None of those titles mattered now, as I lay dying on the blood-soaked marble of my throne room. "Any last words, Damien?" High Priestess Celeste stood over me, her blade — my own sword, stolen during the battle — still dripping with my blood. Behind her, the leaders of the rebellion watched with hungry eyes, eager to see the tyrant fall. I wanted to laugh. After everything I'd done, all the kingdoms I'd conquered, all the battles I'd won, I was being killed by the woman I'd once loved. The woman I'd trusted above all others. "You won't win," I managed, blood bubbling from my lips. "The demons... they'll come regardless. You've doomed everyone." "Better the demons than you," she spat. The irony was bitter. I'd conquered the world to unite it, to prepare for the demonic invasion my visions had shown me. But fear and propaganda had turned me into a monster in their eyes. They couldn't see that everything I'd done was to save them. "So be it," I whispered. "May you live long enough to see your mistake." Celeste raised the blade for the final strike. "Goodbye, Damien." The sword fell. Darkness swallowed me. And then...

I Am The Lost Medical God

I Am The Lost Medical God

Her mother covered her mouth as tears filled her eyes. “This… this cannot be real,” she said. “The specialists told us your nerves were permanently damaged.” Her father approached more slowly, his expression controlled. He looked at Sonia’s legs carefully, then at the crowd gathering around us. “This is unexpected,” he said thoughtfully. “Very unexpected. How did this happen?” Sonia looked slightly overwhelmed by the attention. “I… I don’t know,” she admitted honestly. “I woke up this morning and I could feel my legs again. I stood up, and they supported me.” Gasps erupted around us. “A miracle…” “Did the family secretly hire someone?” I stood beside her the entire time. Yet it was as if I did not exist. Conversations flowed around me, not to me. I was present, but irrelevant. “What a shame,” someone whispered nearby. “Now that she can walk again, she is still tied to that useless man.” “She deserves better than him.” “When she was crippled, he was suitable. Now? Not anymore.” I smiled faintly to myself. When she could not walk, they pitied her and mocked her marriage. Now that she could stand again, they were already calculating her value. Sonia heard the whispers too. I saw her shoulders stiffen slightly, though she tried to maintain her composure.

King of Griffindale

King of Griffindale

“You don't deserve this throne. Your birth was nothing more than a mistake by my late husband, so don't think any more of yourself. But if you still want to be King, then go into the territories and kingdoms outside Griffindale and build your army of followers and allies from scratch. Whenever you feel like you have amassed a huge following enough to seize the throne away from me, then you can come back to fight for it. But from now on, you are on exile.” “The throne belongs to me, Stepmother. Nevertheless, I will do as you ask. But rest assured, for what you've done, I will return—not just for my throne, but also for your head.” “While the Queen fumed with rage in her private chamber, Cyrus emerged from her quarters wearing a satisfied grin, knowing his destiny was now set in stone. He would one day become king, no matter what.” -------- This is my first novel on the platform, so my pacing and world-building aren't the best, but it gets better with time. The story is set in a medieval world, somewhere in an alternate version of ancient Europe. At first the tone focuses more on war and basic politics, but as the story progresses, there will be more magic/fantasy elements added - like dragons, witches and fables. If you enjoy the work, please consider supporting it in any way you can. Any means of support goes a long way for me and is duly appreciated. Have Fun!!!

THE NIGHTMARE

THE NIGHTMARE

Highpriest Fantasy
I hated being locked up like a damsel in distress. Like I was some princess that needed constant protection, but deep down I was grateful. I was still struggling to summon my powers, so if I was attacked alone I would be defenseless. I understood why Valerian wanted me to stay confined within the walls of our home since there was a protection spell suffocating the entire atmosphere that surrounded it. But I was so bored. Valerian was not there to take me out and keep me occupied with his cocky smiles and quirky comments. The only thing I could think to do to pass the time was to take a stroll around the castle grounds. I exited out into the courtyard and walked past the beautiful wooden benches and vibrant trees. Roses of every colour confiscated the grounds and it was like I was walking through a rainbow. My fingertips caressed the petals and I inhaled the sweet scent of their exquisiteness as I walked through the trails. I was so mesmerized by the area that I didn’t realize where I was going. I gasped as I reached for the next rose in my path, and it crumbled from my touch. The rest of the walkway was filled with black and decayed roses that tumbled to the ground like ash from a horrible wildfire. My frightened eyes glared out into the distance as I realized the dead flowers led to a shadowy tunnel made from black brick. A sign barely dangling from a broken chain at the top of the entrance read ‘dungeon.’ My body cringed at the sight. This was the dark side of Valerian that I knew and wanted to avoid as much as possible.
