CHAPTER 7

The work was perfectly fine for Abraham. It has been a week since he started this job, and it was working beautifully. The amount of information he gets every single day is just outrageous. Adventurers who comes back from their jobs, order some booze to have their bodies relax after long days of being in the field. They fight monsters for a living and do almost everything to earn money, that’s how this world works. Abraham, who is now in the kitchen and was waiting for something he can serve. He wore this brown and white uniform. After a few minutes, the food he is about to serve arrived and he then went on to bring it to the people the ordered it. Two big trays that have plates of food is what he is carrying while walking through crowds of adventurers that is all over the guild hall. This is a normal situation here in the hall, especially when half of the adventurers are now here after completing a job. The major requirement for being a server in the guild is that you need to be careful but quick when serving foods. Since the guild hall is filled with sometimes drunk adventurers, and the others are literally partying, there’s this tendency that you’ll get hit by those people who are roaming around carelessly. On Abraham’s first day at work, he spilled mugs of booze to an adventurer who nearly slapped him out of this world because of that. But since his father was around, Abraham was able to apologize for what had happened since he was bumped by a drunk adventurer who is also having a fist fight with someone. Abraham had made a lot of mistakes and accidents. But he learned from those, and tried his best not to do any of those anymore. He works for 16 hours a day, and after his working hours, he goes into training with his sword that his father had given him. No one was training him, since everyone is literally busy. Filbert is with his party and is now at the 11th kingdom doing some jobs. Marge refuses to teach Abraham as she continues to insist that she is not an expert in combat, that’s why she is not teaching Abraham anymore. Josephine, Abraham’s mother won’t be able to train Abraham as she has so little knowledge about combat skills since she’s originally a healer. The guild master who promised Abraham that he would train him when he is bored never actually left his office. Instead, women come and goes from his office and is having difficulties on walking, since they are literally having it almost every day. It can’t be heard from the outside since the office is sound proof, but everyone knows what the guild master is doing, just no one really cares about it as everyone has their own businesses. After serving the foods, Abraham went back to the kitchen and brought the trays there. He then went to the reception desk as it’s his break time, and there he will spend his entire break trying to hit on the receptionists and some female adventurers who are obviously rejecting him because he is either too young or it's because he is a pervert. However, those female elf receptionists are madly in love with him. Abraham is handsome, funny, but his perverseness is his only downside. As Abraham is hitting on the elves, the demi-human adventurers then came carrying pouches of crystals to exchange for money. They went to the next desk and Abraham immediately looked at the beautiful and busty female demi-humans as he found it really cute when their tails wags. One of the demi-humans, who has rabbit ears and tail looked at Abraham. She smiled at him, and it was like Abraham was shot multiple times when she did that.

“I’m in love!” says Abraham as he leaned against the desk.

The elf receptionist sighed,

“You always say that when some girl smiles at you. What, are you just going to fall in love with every woman who pays attention at you?” asked the elf.

Abraham regained his posture and cleared his throat,

“I have my standards too, you know? I may be a pervert, but I am not a scumbag.” Abraham proudly claimed.

The elf then asked Abraham to go away for now as there are many adventurers coming back from their jobs. Abraham agreed as he then went out the guild hall while winking at the demi- humans who were smiling and wagging their tails at him. He went out the hall to get some fresh air. As he was looking around the streets that have people passing by and was buying stuff from the stands, there was suddenly this commotion. So, because of his nosy quality, Abraham went to take a look. He went his way through the crowd as he then saw three adventurers trying to crawl their way towards the guild hall. They are battered and was bleeding buckets. Abraham then approached the three and immediately brought them to the guild hall. The guild hall went quiet as Abraham laid them on three tables as the healers went on to heal the injured adventurers. Abraham is now covered in thick red substance, but that doesn’t matter. As everything is being handled by everyone, Abraham went outside to check on something. He looked up the sky and there he saw that something is actually happening. The sky is showing that it might rain even though it’s summer. Abraham was about to treat this as a normal thing, but then, people began running around the town and screaming. Abraham went back inside to report it, it that’s when one of the injured adventurers sat up and yelled,

“Monster attack!”

And everyone, like everyone, went to grab their weapons and immediately proceeded to battle. With no orders, they went out without any hesitation. The receptionist took care of the injured adventurers as the guild hall got emptied. The streets are now flooded with hundreds of adventurers trying to make sure the citizens are safe before the battle. They need to defend the town no matter what, and they will not let a single evil soul enter the town’s premises. Abraham then knew what he had to do. He went to the employees’ quarters and immediately grabbed his sword. He didn’t bother to change his clothes as it will be drenched in monster goo later anyway. Even if the guild now has half of their power, they will still need every hand they can get to make sure the town is safe. As Abraham was about to exit, Eryx suddenly appeared in front of him with his hands on his back again.

“Are you sure you want to go and fight even though you’re not an adventurer, yet?” Eryx asked.

And with those thunderous eyes, Abraham looked at the guild master,

“It does not matter whether I’m an adventurer or not. What’s important right now is the safety of the citizens of this town.” Abraham answered.

Eryx smiled as he expects nothing less from Abraham Warlock,

“Just don’t die. I’ll be toast when you die. Now, go to battle, Abraham Warlock!” Eryx ordered as Abraham then smiled as he exited the hall.

One of the receptionists then approached Eryx and asked him if it was a good idea to send Abraham, who is a complete novice out to battle. Eryx just chuckled, as Abraham might be a novice, but he will learn a lot from this experience. Not to mention the hundred of seniors he has to depend on. He’ll be fine, as long as he stays calm and strong. Abraham, who is now at the town gates and was waiting for the monsters to appear along with the Adventurers who are eager to fight. And then, the sky started crying as thunder rolled out in the sky. It was not long when monsters suddenly appeared and was rushing towards the town. Abraham drew his sword and prepared for battle.

“Adventurers, attack!”

And with that yell from the frontlines, the battle for the town of Ozo has begun.
