Chapter 3: Get Justice For The Daughter!

“Save my daughter first!”

Jonathan was anxious to see Carla and had no time to deal with these people.

Devlin’s face was unsightly, but he dared not speak.

Without Carla Wang’s marrow, his daughter would also die.

But if he insisted on transplanting Carla Wang’s marrow into Neala, the Thomas family would be done for!

“Aren’t you leaving yet!”

Kane angrily looked at his second son. Why was he still standing there frozen at a time like this?

Just then, the operating room door opened.

A young girl with a pale face, leading a plump little girl by the hand, came out.

The little girl looked very well-behaved, her eyes similar to Jonathan’s, but she was somewhat chubby compared to girls her age due to excessive pampering.

This wasn’t Carla Wang, Jonathan’s daughter, then who was she? Jonathan’s eyes flashed with a momentary blaze, teary-eyed.

“Enough with the noise. I won’t undergo surgery anymore! Carla is still a child, and please spare her!

Grandpa, Dad, I don’t want to go through this surgery. I don’t want to harm Carla!”

Neala has a refined beauty that would be unparalleled if not for her weakness from illness.

Clad in surgical attire, she led Carla out, pleading with Kane and Devlin to abandon the surgery.

She knew that a small amount of marrow might be tolerable, but the amount she needed would be unbearable for a child-like Carla.

It could cause her body’s functions to age or even become paralyzed if severe.

“Carla!”

Tommy was surprised, rushed to hug Carla, very heartbroken: “Carla, how have you become so chubby?”

By now, Carla must weigh at least 35 kilograms, and she’s not even six years old yet!

“Uncle Tommy!”

Carla joyfully shouted but immediately burst into tears of self-pity: “Uncle Tommy, I don’t want the surgery. I’m terrified!”

“Don’t be scared, Carla. No one can force you to have surgery. Don’t you miss your dad? Here he is!”

Tommy hurriedly held Carla up to Jonathan.

He gently stroked her head, tears welling in his eyes: "My dear, a year ago, Carla was just over 20 kilograms, such a beautiful, healthy little girl!"

"Daddy, are you my daddy?" Carla asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I'm your dad!"

Jonathan declared heavily, and his voice filled with fury.

His gaze bore into Neala, the corners of his eyes nearly cracked.

"To prepare enough marrow for you, they have made a 20-kilogram child gain up to 35 kilograms in one year."

Stunned by his accusing gaze, Neala burst into tears, her voice choked: "I'm sorry, I didn't want it to be like this. I truly apologize!"

"Don't hurt her. Carla doesn't want anyone to hurt her!"

Unexpectedly, Carla thought that Jonathan intended to harm Neala. The child quickly wriggled out of Tommy's embrace, ran to Neala, and shielded her with her petite body.

Perhaps this stranger who claimed to be her father was too unfamiliar, less significant than Neala to Carla.

"Carla, she's a bad person!"

Jonathan's voice was gentle when addressing Carla.

"No! She's not bad, and she's very nice to me!" Carla was adamant.

Perhaps because she was still a child, she didn't understand the complicated adult matters.

But she could distinguish between who was kind and who was unkind to her.

The hearts of the Thomas family members were in their throats, and their fate hinged on Jonathan's thoughts!

Jonathan was silent for a long time: "Carla, come to Daddy. Daddy won't harm her, okay?"

Carla hesitated for a while before cautiously asking: "Then can Carla see Mommy? Carla hasn't seen Mommy for a long time. Carla misses Mommy so much!"

Those words were like a sharp stake driven straight into Jonathan's heart.

Did Orla know that the daughter she had sold still longed for her?

"Daddy will take you to see Mommy! Come, let Daddy hold you." Jonathan bent down, opening his arms in a questioning manner.

"Yes, let's find mommy!"

Ultimately, Carla couldn't resist the longing for her mother and flung herself into Jonathan's chest.

Jonathan could feel the warmth radiating from his daughter, gradually calming his mood. He said nothing more, guiding Carla away from the surgery's waiting room.

As they reached the door, he paused. His gaze fell on Neala with cold indifference, leaving behind a comment.

"You have chronic leukemia, not some dire disease!"

After Jonathan left, all the Thomas family members wiped the sweat from their foreheads, dreadfully scared.

Jonathan gave no instructions, and the folks from Roger's side needed to stay within their bounds to decide, so they successively left.

As Roger was about to depart, Kane Thomas hastily pulled him back, whispering: "Chairman Jake, what is Mr. Wang's intent?"

Neither punishing the Thomas family nor uttering a word, Kane was puzzled.

Roger sneered contemptuously at Kane: "I called you, but you didn't listen. Now you remember, huh? Sorry, I don't know either."

Roger left a cold remark before striding away. With their young master that furious, who dared help the Thomas family?

"Dad, what do we do now?"

"All because Neala suddenly struck with leukemia. Great, now the entire Thomas family is implicated!"

"Neala is indeed trouble. We should offer Neala up to appease Mr. Wang's anger!"

The danger was imminent, and everyone began to criticize Neala.

Though Neala had no idea what had happened, she could guess at this point that Carla's father was an influential figure that the Thomas family shouldn't have messed with. But now they had.

"Fine, I'll go plead with Mr. Wang. I'll take full responsibility and won't let the Thomas family get involved!" declared Neala decisively.

She was the cause of all this and should be the one to end it.

Devlin naturally didn't want his daughter to appease Jonathan's anger, but what could he do when facing a force that could crush the Thomas family?

Suddenly, he remembered something: "Neala, isn't Carla's birthday coming up?"

"In three days."

Neala didn't understand, but she clearly remembered Carla's birthday.

"In three days, it'll be the engagement day of Mr. Wang's wife, Orla William!"

Atop Fear Wild mountain, inside the mansion.

Carla curiously looked at the grand hall that resembled a royal palace, yet she was too timid to touch anything, afraid she might break something priceless.

"We'll be living here in the future. Do you like it, Carla?" Jonathan gently asked Carla.

Fear Wild Mansion was the most luxurious mansion in Elite Summit, developed by the real estate company Rise & Shine.

And this mansion on the peak was the most expensive in the city, never put up for sale, as Roger reserved it for Jonathan.

"I like it very much. But Dad, didn't you say you would take Carla to see Mom?" Carla still missed her mother greatly.

Jonathan's smile gradually faded, but he kept a pleasant face: "Carla, Mom is very busy. You can't see her right now. In three days, it'll be your sixth birthday. Mom will come to see you then, and she will bring a present for you too! Carla is about to be six years old. You understand everything now, right?"

Jonathan remembered Carla's birthday very well.

"Yes, Carla is perfect!" Carla nodded vigorously.

Jonathan smiled, saying: "Carla, Uncle Tommy will take you to the playroom. Your dad and Uncle Jake have things to discuss!"

"Yes, okay!"

Perhaps due to the unfamiliar environment, Carla was quiet but obediently ascended to the upper floor with Tommy.

After Carla left, Jonathan heaved a sigh of relief. At least he could cope the next two days without Carla looking for his mother.

He tiredly lifted his hand: “Give me a cigarette.”

Roger presented him with a cigarette and lit it for him.

He seemed to want to say something but held back.

Jonathan took several deep puffs of his cigarette: “Speak your mind.”

Roger finally spoke: “Young master, and I find it inhuman for Mrs. Wang to sell her daughter for fifty million dollars! I think Carla should know the truth then…!”

After saying this, Roger quickly shut his mouth to gauge his master’s reaction, fearful of retribution.

However, Jonathan bitterly laughed: “I understand what you’re saying. I’m just wondering how to tell Carla the truth. I don’t want to hurt the girl.”

The young master had considered everything, so Roger didn’t add more.

“Alright, I’ll handle this. You arrange for Carla to go to school. If I’m not here, you are responsible for her pick up, drop off, and care. I can’t trust a nanny!”

At this, Roger was nearly moved to tears.

He didn’t consider taking care of a child beneath him as a chairman of the Rise & Shine real estate company.

The young master entrusting him with Carla’s care was treating him like family!

He quickly reassured: “Young master, rest assured, and I will not let you down!”

“Mmm.”

Jonathan nodded slightly, stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, and suddenly said: “Right, Carla’s birthday is in three days. I haven’t been able to be with her on her birthday for years, and this time I want to throw her a grand birthday party! Which is the best hotel in Elite Summit now?”

“Way Heaven Hotel! I will book the top floor of the Way Heaven Hotel for you to celebrate Carla’s birthday!” Roger hastily guaranteed.

Way Heaven Hotel?

Jonathan pondered for a moment. Orla also held her engagement there. Thinking this, he agreed:

“There then.”

He again thought of the past events, was silent for a moment, then said: “Also, that girl named Adela Kyle that I hurt back then, do some digging on her for me.”

No matter the reason, it was a fact that Jonathan had violated her.

Whether he is responsible or should compensate, he couldn’t evade it.

Roger worked efficiently and arranged for Carla’s kindergarten the day, personally taking Carla to school the next day.

As for Carla’s weight issue, he would recover quickly with an appropriate diet and exercise.

And Jonathan had to return home to plan and didn’t follow them to school.
