You Are Not Pathetic!

Andrew Whiteford was the son of Mayson Whiteford, a Command Sergeant Major in the United States.

He was very handsome and had dotting parents, so he got all he wanted from little.

On one day, he met a few little girls at a party. At that time, they were children, so he didn't care, but as they grew up, he found them more and more beautiful.

Until that day, they became known throughout the whole world as the most beautiful high school girls in the world.

Of course, it didn't mean there were no other beautiful girls like them, but these four were the most famous and had a great background for their beauty, so they were really desired by all men.

Unfortunately, Andrew was famous for being a skirt-chaser and those rumours got into the four girls.

Andrew quickly understood that the four of them were keeping a good distance from him, so he changed his plans.

Upon entering high school in Paris, he made a few friends. For him, they were stupid, but they inflated his ego nicely, so he didn't care.

After that, he changed his entire personality and acted like a gentleman in class. During parties outside with all the famous families, he would spread fake information saying that he was framed wrongly to clear his image.

Unfortunately, even if it worked quite well, the four of them didn't have any interest in him even after his change, or maybe they were still wary of him ?

He didn't know.

But, like Jordan Hawkins, he wanted the four of them for him.

Now that he saw the princess of the Solaria Empire, he added her to his list instantly.

A few meters away, Jordan Hawkins had similar thoughts...

'She is perfect and worthy of me.'

But he was somewhat upset seeing his future woman getting along with Orion. It was not even half an hour since they met!

As for Ryan, he was looking with indifference at the Princess, walking toward them. But if anyone looked at what was on his mind right now, they would have run away and called the police plus several psychiatrists.

"Oh look Aura, Orion is with the Princess!" Maeva said to her friend.

"Y-Yeah..." Aura nodded and looked at Orion near the princess.

Orion's gaze met hers, Aura tried to smile at him.

But suddenly Orion averted his gaze from her.

At that, Aura smiled sadly.

'As expected...'

A few minutes before...

"Follow me, lord hero."

Liana said after they left the room.

"H-Hm Princess Liana ?" Orion stuttered.

"Yes ?" Liana tilted her head.

Orion averted his gaze as she was in another realm compared to him.

"H-Hum could you stop calling me Lord hero, it's somewhat embarrassing..." Orion scratched his cheek.

"Of course, but how should I call you ? " Liana asked with a smile.

"My name is Orion, so you can call me like that, princess."

Orion replied to her.

"Orion...?" Liana was stunned, as the name was familiar in their world.

"Princess ?"

"Ah! Nothing. I will call you Lord Orion then!" Liana replied enthusiatically.

Orion wanted her to remove the 'Lord' but he reached his limit, requesting an otherworld beauty like her.

"We are almost there. You will see your friends again soon ! Don't worry, Lord Orion." As expected, Liana spoke again.

At her words, Orion smiled bitterly.

"I-I have no friends..."

"Eh ?" Liana was at a loss for words at Orion's statement.

Looking at the lonely figure of Orion, she felt a strange urge to console him, so she spoke reflexively.

"Then I will be your friend, Lord Orion!"

"Eh ?" Orion was dumbfounded.

"Y-you are a princess and I'm just a nobody, it's impossible..."

He shook his head with a bitter face.

"No! Lord Orion is a hero from another world. You will surely be someone great." Liana shook her head.

Orion was shocked by her words.

'Who was the last person who said something like that to me...'

"Orion, you will be someone great in the future"

"My son will be a great man."

"Big Brother is the best!"

There were only three people in his life who said such words to him.

"L-Lord Orion!"

Suddenly Liana shouted.

"Y-Yes ?" Orion asked, trying to keep his tears from falling, but it was too late.

"You are crying..." Liana said with a complicated face.

She didn't know what Orion endured but she thought it must have been heartbreaking .

"Ah! I-I'm sorry! Your words brought back memories of my family". Orion quickly wiped his tears away.

Then he squeezed in his palm the two pieces of his broken ring into his pocket.

Liana gave him back before leaving the room.

Orion looked at Liana to see her with a worried face.

"Sigh...I'm really pathetic huh..." Orion shook his head bitterly.

Normally, boys would act confident in front of such beauty, but what he had done from the moment he met her could be part of a comedy show.

As soon as he woke up, he blurted nonsense like 'paradise' upon seeing her.

Then he ran away to the bath to extinguish a harmless fire, making him like an idiot with his drenched clothes.

Averting his gaze or stuttering each time he spoke to her.

Finally, he cried like a child in front of her.

"No! You are not pathetic, Lord Orion!" Liana denied vehemently.

"It's okay princess Liana, I know that I am most likely the most pathetic man you saw in your life."

Orion said confidently.

'After all, in a fantasy world, even the average man or woman might be stronger than me in all domains'

"No! I think..."

"You are a very good person, princess Liana, that's why please don't waste your time with someone as useless as me."

Orion cut her off with a self-deprecating tone.

"Lord Orion!" Liana shouted and Orion jumped up.

"Y-Yes!"

Looking at her, Orion saw Liana with an angry face.

"You are not pathetic! Believe me, as a princess I saw all kinds of men and women and I know the truly pathetic ones! So I can tell that you are certainly not one of them!" Liana's tone changed to a strong one.

"R-Right..."

"SO! Please be more confident in yourself! You can succeed if you provide yourself with the means!" She added, bringing her face closer to Orion.

Orion was touched by her words, which deeply etched themselves in his heart.

But he was also on the verge of being touched physically by a world's toppling beauty and it was bad for his heart, so he spoke hurriedly.

"T-Thank you Princess Liana!" Saying that, he stepped back.

Liana smiled and replied.

"Don't worry about that, Lord Orion, now let's go, we are late."

Orion nodded and followed after Liana.

They walked in a long hallway where several beautiful paintings were hanging on the wall.

Orion was surprised, as the architecture was somewhat similar to the Palace of Versailles he visited.

A few minutes later, they reached a spacious hall with golden ornaments.

All his classmates were there with what seemed to be the Emperor and Empress of the Solaria Empire.

They entered and, as expected, the moment they appeared, the class ignored Orion and looked at the princess near him.

Mostly the males were excited.

'As expected, I'm really a nobody near her...'

"Lord Orion don't look down again!" Liana said, nudging him with her elbow.

"Y-Yes!" Orion forced himself and looked at the crowd in front of him.
