Chapter 2

"detective Kyle"

"Congrats man"

"Congrats"

"Wow"

His colleagues kept greeting and congratulating him as he kept smiling.

"Rex doesn't seem so happy about the upgrade" detective Spencer, his closest friend, said.

"I don't feel good about it either" Kyle muttered, "I mean, the serial killer is a great adventure but Rex is a murderous experience" he said and Spencer laughed.

"But you guys should atleast...."

"There's nothing wrong with me, he just doesn't like me for obviously stupid reasons" Kyle scoffed.

"Still congrats man" Spencer said.

"Kyle, the general wants to see you" an officer said to him.

"There's no going back now, is there?" Kyle muttered and left.

"Sir" he greeted upon entrance to see Rex standing at a corner too.

"You both have a seat" the man said.

"Yes sir" they replied and sat down not after giving each other death glares.

"I don't want this to exceed a month, a month because we know how slimy she is, Kyle your good at what you do that's why I want you on the chase" the general spoke.

"Rex, you're still in charge of your team, do well to work with him" he said.

"Yes sir" Rex replied with a smirk.

"Any questions" he asked and they shook their heads in negativity.

"Leave" he ordered and they stood up, bowed and turned to the door with a smirk playing on the Rex's lips.

"I'm in charge" he whispered to Kyle at the door before leaving.

"Like it's a big deal" Kyle scoffed and left.

"Nice" Laurel scoffed.

"A new detective on my tail won't be so bad, I hope he ain't as lame as the others" she smiled and lit up a cigar before placing it in her mouth.

"I need to see his face" she smiled, "how I love blood, amma pay a late night visit" she smirked and left the rooftop.

ROBERTS BOUTIQUE:::

"Cherish you okay" Mrs Roberts asked as her twins walked in.

"I really don't know what's wrong with her" Cheryl said helping her sister to walk.

"It's definitely not menstrual cramp" cherish groaned.

"It started few minutes after we began classes" Cheryl explained.

"You see why I love being homeschooled, who would have taken care of me" cherish smiled.

"Nurses at a sick bay or clinic" Cheryl scoffed.

"LAYLA" Mrs Roberts yelled and her salesgirl matched forward.

"Yes ma'am" Layla greeted.

"I'm going back home, be watchful" Mrs Roberts instructed.

"Let's go kids" she said.

"WE ARE 19" they both yelled.

"Sorry ladies" their mum said sarcastically.

At home::

"Should we go to the hospital" Cheryl asked worriedly.

"I'm fine" cherish said.

"I'll get some painkillers, you'll take them, eat and sleep, you should be fine" mom said.

"Thanks" cherish said whimpering.

"I thought you said it's nothing serious" Cheryl scoffed.

"Go continue the lesson will you" cherish scoffed.

"Oh I thought we'd drop out after this, it's sounds like a good plan" Cheryl rolled her eyes walking up the stairs.

"Are you leaving me here" cherish yelled after her.

"The serial killer is definitely not gonna walk right through that door" Cheryl yelled back and disappeared into their room.

"Sit up" her mum said walking in with the drugs.

AT NIGHT::

Laurel could be seen heading to the phonebooth across the road. As she reached, she smiled and call the cops.

"Tell Kyle I'm waiting" she said immediately they picked the call.

"Hillview avenue" she smirked and ended the call. Stepping out of the booth, she smirked.

"Three hearts for a perfect night" she smiled licking her lips, putting on her masks she ran into the dark night like a maniac laughing loudly.

Meanwhile at the station;

"Rex let's move" Kyle yelled.

"I'm fucking in charge" Rex yelled back walking in.

"This is definitely not gonna end well" Spencer muttered as Rex gathered his teammates.

"Let's move" he yelled.

"Detective Rex" the general yelled.

"Get it right this time" he growled.

"Kyle" he called out.

"Yes sir" Kyle responded.

"I trust you'd do a better job" the general said and Rex boiled. He had been in this field two years before Kyle got in, and he had never gotten such praises from his boss, and now the general thinks he's do a better job, of course he had every right to be angry.

"Move it" Rex yelled walking out.

Sirens could heard as the police surrounded hillview avenue, making the occupants cringe in fear as they had earlier heard screams. The cops rushed out in different directions looking for Laurel while she stood at a spot with her eyes on the new detective.

"He sure has a nice stature" she smiled.

"Attention seeking" she squeeled like a 16year old and threw the body of a young girl out in the open, the loud thud got the attention of Kyle, Rex and the few officers that stood there, rushing to the scene, they met the disgusting sight of the little girl with her heart ripped out.

"She's close" Kyle and Rex yelled simultaneously, and they all ran to the direction the body came from which was dark. They reduced their pace but Kyle kept going forward.

"Detective Kyle it's dangerous and dark, she might be anywhere" Rex said, "step back" he ordered.

"Exactly why you never caught her, are you even a cop" Kyle scoffed not stopping.

"I said stop" Rex yelled.

"I'm on the case with you, not under you" Kyle said and continued but met with a swift movement and a cut on his arm.

"Fuck" he yelped.

"Kyle" Rex yelled.

"You sure are cute and brave" Laurel said standing some meters away from him.

"Who are you" he yelled.

"Someone who wouldn't mind a night with you" she smirked and made another swift movement giving him a cut on his thigh after sizing his dick.

"Gosh, you're huge too" she laughed.

"Freeze" he yelled taking steps backwards..

"You definitely can't see me" she scoffed and then he released bullets aimlessly.

"Shit" she cussed as one met with her shoulder and she ran coming out of her hideout, Rex and the other policemen joined in the shooting and Rex's bullet met with her right arm, but she escaped.

"Darn it" Rex cussed and the policemen gasped on seeing Kyle.

"Get him to the van" Rex ordered without sparing him a glance.
