Chapter 12

"Are you gonna tell me what's wrong now" Karina asked as they stepped into the house.

"Take your clothes to your room" Kyle responded walking to the kitchen but Karina had a maid send them up and followed him to the kitchen.

"They are up, mind telling me what I want to hear" she pressed.

"I met a girl"

"Oh no.. this is not happening.. wait you meet girls everyday, our maids are girls right?"

"I'll just be in my room" Kyle muttered taking an apple from the fridge.

"I'm just surprised that's all, Abit hurt, but go on" Karina smiled.

"Well I met her and we began talking..what am I saying" he chuckled.

"Are you being..."

"Shut it" he said, "we met last year twice but talked once, then I didn't set my eyes on her until recently"

"What sort of love story is this" Karina scoffed.

"I never said it was a love story" Kyle retorted.

"For you to be this way over some random girl, it is one" Karina grinned taking a bite out of his apple.

"Hey!!! First she isn't random, and I never said I'm in love with her" he said.

"I never said you were,I said love story, the love would bloom sooner, guilty conscience" Karina laughed and Kyle squinted his eyes at her.

"Stay away from me" he said and walked past her.

"Bunny"

"Witch"

Cheryl had taken care of her cut and had a plaster on, while she watched her mom cook. She won't forgive Kyle for injuring her.

"How did he injure you" her subconscious mocked.

"He could have at least texted back" she scoffed, "wait, why do you always talk when you're not needed" she shut it out taking her focus back to her mum.

"What happened this time" her mum asked

"Huh" Cheryl replied

"Is it Kyle" she faced me with smiles.

"What do you mean Kyle" Cheryl scoffed, " I mean we are just friends right? No, acquaintances, we just getting to know each other, is normal not to reply my text and have a girlfriend right" she said and her mum laughed.

"Did I say that out loud" Cheryl chuckled nervously, "you're the cause anyway, if you had just replied my text, I won't have left the date early and won't need to apologise, arrrrrgghh, henceforth I'm never gonna ignore texts, I'm gonna reply all texts that I receive" she continued and her mum couldn't stop laughing.

"You really do like him, don't you" Mrs Roberts asked her daughter.

"You definitely don't want to hear my answer" Cheryl laughed but the door bell interrupted them.

"You expecting someone" Cheryl asked.

"No, not any I can think of" her mum shrugged and it rang again.

"I guess Kyle is here to see you in person" her mum said with a smug smile.

"Wipe off that smile, it doesn't suit you besides he doesn't know my house" she scoffed, "wait he's a cop, anything's possible" she rushed off the counter to the front door dusting her clothes. It rang again and she opened the door immediately with a smile that couldn't wipe off when she saw her visitor. She was speechless for a minute trying to wipe off her stubborn smile.

"Witch" she called out and it wiped the smile off.

"Ps..psy... psycho" Cheryl called out in bits.

"Hello house" Riley yelled pushing Cheryl aside and walking into the house.

"Oh my.. that aroma.. who's cooking" she smiled.

"Are you stalking me?" Cheryl asked with folded arms.

"You're not my type" Riley stuck out her tongue at Cheryl and headed to the kitchen.

"O holy Theresa" Riley smiled hugging Mrs Roberts from behind and the woman froze.

"Hey psycho get off my mom" Cheryl yelled.

"You jealous she's gonna want to adopt me" Riley pouted cutely.

"Uhhh... Cheryl" her mum called out softly.

"I'm Riley ma'am, Riley Simpson, Cheryl's best friend" Riley introduced and Cheryl clapped.

"Good start, very good start, I was fooled for a second thinking I just saw an angel, WOW" Cheryl gritted.

"Oh I am an angel hot legs, should I show you how much of an angel I can be" Riley smiled leaning in.

"Wow, she's a pervert too, why am I not surprised" Cheryl whispered back.

"She's said I can have her share mum" Riley smiled standing to her height.

"Mom? My share? So you're hungry too?" Cheryl laughed.

"We do have a lot in common" Riley hummed and Cheryl dragged her out to the living room.

"What are you doing here? How do you figure out where  I stay? Wait, why are you smiling? Cheryl growled.

"I'm actually looking at your face closely this time... You are cute" Riley smiled revealing her dimple.

"You have a dimple" Cheryl giggled, "what am I doing? Why are we standing close? Why? Move already" Cheryl scoffed pushing her.

"Yes, I'm right, she's cute" Riley smiled.

"I'm not into girls" Cheryl spat.

"I don't do minors" Riley fired back.

"I'm twenty" Cheryl scoffed.

"I'm twenty one" Riley smiled.

"Is this a get-to-know each other or what? Cheryl groaned.

"I guess food is ready" Riley smiled patting Cheryl's hair before going in.

"I'd help you with that, mum" Riley offered and Mrs Roberts smiled as they set the table.

Cheryl couldn't stop glaring at Riley throughout the meal while Riley smiled in return. She fumed the more as Riley kept being sweet to her mum.

"Have some water mom" Riley offered and the woman muttered a thank you.

"You are beautiful" Mrs Roberts complimented and Cheryl gasped.

"I've lost my appetite" she said and stood up to leave but suddenly turned back and grabbed her plate, "i-i meant appetite to eat with you guys , you can have the table to yourselves" she scoffed and turned to leave while walking slowly, she twisted her head again to meet the duo staring her.

"You're seriously not going to call me back, MOTHER" she shrieked, "whatever" she sighed entering the living room as they laughed hard.

Cheryl's POV

"Lunch is over, you can leave now" I said to Riley as I stepped into the kitchen to see her discussing with mum.

"You never told me about her Cheryl" mum said to me.

"Cause we ain't friends, she's just a psycho who derives pleasure in making troubles" I rolled my eyes.

"How did you guys meet" mum asked.

"The blind goat bumped into me" I yelled.

"I could still beat you up in front of your mum" Riley whispered in my ear and I froze.

"A friendly bump" Riley said and I smiled.

"I thought you guys would have thrown me out, didn't expect to stay this long" Riley hugged mum.

"I would have gladly" I muttered lowly.

"We ain't racist" Mrs Roberts replied hugging her back.

"Why are you here exactly" I asked tired of her presence already.

"I meant to ask you too, you didn't have this cut this morning when we met did you?" Riley asked with seriousness.

"What? Why do you care? I guess you caused alot of problem that they beat you up right? You've been limping" I retorted.

"Exactly, what happened to your legs my child?" Mum asked comfortingly.

"Don't call her that" I groaned stomping my foot on the ground.

"Serial killer" Riley dropped the bomb and there was a deafening silence.

"You must be joking" I laughed breaking the silence, "no one has an encounter with her and lives" I stated and she squinted her eyes at me.

"Is that why you let me go" she smirked and I moved back in fear.

"What-what nonsense?" I struggled with my breathe.

"How did you get that cut" she asked with an expression I couldn't decipher.

"I cut myself this morning after we met" I replied.

"She has your face" Riley smiled and my blood ran cold.

"What games are you trying to play here" Mrs Roberts growled but I didnt move neither did Riley take her eyes off me. I could feel her stares pierce my heart like there was some kind of truth she was trying to dig out of me.

"She attacked me last night, we fought and the cops met us right in time, I gave her cut on her wrist and she dug her knife into my thighs before escaping, that was after she took off her mask in front of us" Riley explained and I could feel my spirit leaving me.

"Right, a cop recognized her, I heard her call him...."

"Call him what" mum inquired.

"Kyle".
