Chapter 2

Micheal clenched his first, his jaw clenched, he was furious and was feeling hot out of the news. He wanted to smash something and relay his anger on it.

How can Kathie abandon him for that monster, that bastard that was responsible for him being put behind bars for a long time? He was swelled up in anger.

He squeezed the glass bottle tightly attempting to smash it with bare hands, Jaden was scared that he would bring people's attention to them.

“Where the hell is the wedding taking place?” he finally asked through gritted teeth, his eyes clouded in rage.

Jaden cleared his throat, “I think you should calm down Michael, you are getting yourself worked up” Jaden was concerned over his friend's well-being, it was not up to an hour he was released, seeing him devastated was clenching his heart.

Micheal smashed his hand on the table, which made a harsh sound and attracted the nearby neighbour's attention. Jaden's heart skipped.

“Jaden, Where the hell is the wedding taking place?!” he raised his voice, maybe screaming will let his best friend know that he was agitated and was about it.

“Fine fine, I don't know where the wedding is taking place, I just know that she is getting married today” he lied. Micheal was burning in anger, he was afraid that if he revealed the place, Micheal might cause a scene. He knows his best friend and what he is capable of doing.

Also, he was afraid of the people that Michael is fighting against, they are rich and powerful, they can turn Micheal from human to ant within a fleeting second. He was scared of putting his best friend's life in line, he rather lies to him than watch him destroy his life.

Jaden thought that fighting them wasn't worth it.

“You know you can start something new and forget those people, I mean they are not worth your time and energy, we've been through hell because of them and affray towards them might end you somewhere bad again” Jaden tried to convince him, “maybe a worse place”

Micheal scoffed.

“This is a new Michael, not the old one, Jaden. You think I will settle for less?”

“Now, can you at least lend me your phone?”

Jaden sighed out of frustration, he tried his best. He handed him his smartphone.

Micheal dialled a number and the person picked immediately.

“It's me, Micheal,” he told the person he called, who he was talking to.

“Wow, glad to hear your voice” they sounded happy upon knowing who the caller was.

“Yeah, can I ask for a favour from you?” Micheal asked without wasting time.

They answered, “Go on, please”

“I need the address to where Kathie's wedding is taking place, today is her wedding” curiosity was clear-cut in his tone, he hoped they would find the address.

“A second please”

Jaden was watching with desperate eyes, whoever Michael was talking to was an expert because a message just tinged in his phone and Michael's eyes popped out upon seeing it. Not even up to a minute.

Michael had a smug smile on his face, he knew the place, he retracted and thanked the person on the other side.

Afterwards, he stood up and placed the phone beside Jaden,”Mac-xona estate B12”

“Drive me there” he sounded more like he was commanding him.

“O-okay” he stood up and straightened his shirt and tucked it in properly, “Mac-xona estate it is then” he acted as though he wasn't aware of it before.

Jaden paid for the food, and then they drove to the estate.

Getting there, they noticed that the wedding must have kicked off as many cars were seen outside, they entered the hall and to their utmost surprise, Kathie was already exchanging rings with Pablo.

Michael was rooted to the spot, his breath coming out faster than usual. At that moment, time seemed to slow down as his brain processed his inward reaction when he received the news.

He wanted to believe that Kathie was forced to marry Pablo, but the Kathie before him, the one he has been with for a long time and even lost count, is smiling and swirling in high spirits as she was about to exchange rings with the monster.

The guests turned towards the door as Michael entered. If Michael was angry before, now he is burning in rage. The guests were murmuring, but Michael was unable to comprehend them as he was mystified.

Kathie was dressed in a white wedding gown, and she held a ring in her hand, she was about to put it in Pablo's finger.

So, it was true, his girlfriend betrayed him. He waited for this long and spent most of his time in jail dreaming of his future with his girlfriend, the main reason he was put behind bars. Only for him to be welcomed with this.

Furiously, he grabbed a wine on a nearby table and hurled it at Kathie and Pablo.

The little audience gasped in shock, unfortunately or fortunately, the bottle didn't hit them, but it shattered and the wine stained Kathie's wedding gown and even Pablo's suit.

Inquisitively, Kathie and Pablo turned to know who disrupted the special moment and their eyes widened in shock on seeing Micheal, especially Kathie's.

Kathie was slack-jawed on seeing him, isn't he supposed to be in prison? She asked herself, but then she remembered that today was his release day.

Pablo was infuriated, what the hell is he doing here? Not only did he throw a bottle of wine at them, on his wedding day, this fool showed up to resperse his day.

“Guards!” he screamed.

His guards appeared in seconds, they surrounded Micheal, with their guns beside them.

Pablo extended his hand towards Kathie, she took it with a smile, and he helped her to prompt towards Michael.

Kathie flashed a cocky smile,"Does this place look like a loser's place?”

Not a question, she mocked him.

Perplexed Michael raised his brows. Should he be surprised? Of course, he couldn't believe that she actually said this to him, he would have believed it to be a dream but then, she is standing there, right in front of him, mocking him right in his face, not giving a damn about who was looking at them.

Michael had to pinch his thumb a little to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

Pablo smirked, “Didn't you hear her?” he pulled his suit closer to his body, “maybe I should repeat it, so you can hear it very well”

He whispered in his face, “Does this place look like a loser's place?” he repeated the question, with more contempt.
