Chapter 10

His scooter came to a halt at a building where people could be seen trooping in and out with different parcels in their hands. They had similar uniform as his except that he looked like a clown.

This was where he worked, as a delivery man, and he was going to be resigning because it stressed him when it hasn't been up to a month since he began the job.

Working with this man was hell as it was like though he was the one who owns the company. He pulled out his helmet, inhaled and then trod inside the building.

Everyone he passed by glanced at him with indifference. The woman he lived with had beckoned on him to create a healthy relationship, with all his colleagues just for him to be loved by all. However, that was the opposite as he was hostile to them.

His feet led him to the manager's office along with his deliveries for the day. It was like though the old man knew what this young man was over there for.

"Louis..." He called as the young place a grumpy face at him and then shrugged his shoulder.

"I'm sorry but I can't fire you"

Louis scoff and slammed the helmet in his hand on the table of this man, he was pissed that often times, his request was rejected. Why would they retain him when he wasn't hard working?

Well the answers was certainly his brains. This young man was so brilliant that his ideas boast the economy growth of their company. Who wouldn't keep such a man even though he was annoying.

"I hate this job, it causes me allergies" he protested frowning at the old man who ducked his head at him. Seriously? Where they jobs that causes someone allergies?

The old man address his issues, and saw no need for the latter to leave because he was needed in this company to run. Rather than granting the former's request, the latter enticed him with juicy payment.

"Louis, I would double your pay alright, just stay back" the manager beckoned, but the young man refutes. He had only chose to stay because of Abigail but now, he realized he couldn't.

"No one would be willing to take you in, we are the only ones that accepts people like you" he further with a crook smile and Louis scoffed again. Wow, it seems this manager thinks lowly of him, but he was right anyway. No one would want to hire a lazy worker.

"Triple the payment" he finalized seizing the opportunity. The manager glared at him as his demand was too high that he mused in his heart if to continue.

"Agreed?" Louis beckoned as his face had brighten up. The manager nodded in frustration as though he was forced to agree.

Louis liked the sound of that, at least, he could prove to Abigail that he had something doing which she could be proud of.

He left the company and headed home. There, he Abigail preparing dinner. It was getting late already and he was right in time or wrong time.

Before he left for delivery, he had messed up the kitchen and had the whole room scattered. However, while returning, everywhere was neatly arranged, and he guessed she was going to scold him.

He always does that when leaving the house. One would wonder what he was busy searching for, that would make him rampage the whole house.

His ears tingled at chopping sound coming from the kitchen, it was really loud that it caused him goosebumps. For a moment, he thought she was chopping his head off.

From his assumptions, this girl was chopping something in annoyance, he noted that she haven't realize he had returned, and needed to flee away from her rage.

Most times, he had advised her to join the army, because she wasn't scared of anyone, and challenged what was wrong. Often times, he wondered if she was a man residing in the body of a female. To him, she was scary when annoyed.

He couldn't wait to regain his memory, and then he would leave her in peace. However, what saddens him was the fact that perhaps, he might be poor in his previous life.

His feet crept to the bedroom just to avoid her sighting him but then her voice drew him back;

"Don't try sneaking in"

Wow, how sensitive she was and that made his twitch. He smirked at her, cleared his throat and paced towards the kitchen where she was and he found her chopping Vegetables.

"Hi" he began rubbing his palms together, and racing towards the kitchen. Louis didn't want to freak out and had to play cool.

"Hi? Really louis" She beckoned swiveling her face to him, as he was a distance away from her. He hated being nagged.

"How was work today" he added pretending like though he had no idea why this girl was raged. Her eyes peering at him that he suddenly found it difficult to breath probably.

"Let's not pretend like it was fine, because you got me thinking at work!" She snapped glaring at him. He scratched his left brow and then licked his lower lip subconsciously.

"Wow, then you must really love me" he teased with a smile but that smile had to fade when she pointed the knife in her hand at him.

"I hate you" she mocked, as he flinched while stepping back from her. She handed him the chop knife to him, requesting him to assist. He gave an attempt to refuse but he knew what the consequences was, and so had no choice than to help.

This girl began her daily complains on his naughty and bossy character especially the fact that he leaves the house all messy untill she returns. Rather than listening to that, he was eating some vegetables and nodding frantically.

"You're really something else Louis" Abigail commented resigning from her speech, as his behavior clearly shows that he wasn't interested in what she was saying. Although he apologized.

"Did you go for check up today?" She asked switching the topic, and staring at him. He was so adorable that one couldn't stay annoyed with him for a long time. She wondered if he had a wife in his previous life. That lady definitely has to have patient with such a man.

Although recently, he had been trying to help her out with financial expense at anyway possible. At least, he was becoming human a bit, but she couldn't tell if she preferred him being idle or working; because it was all the same. Always putting her in trouble!

He nodded, picked some bacons which she had made, and fed it to her just to keep quiet. Abigail chuckled at his act as he acted childish. However that didn't stop her from asking questions and this time, she asked him about his newly found job.

"I don't like it but there are pretty ladies over there, that's why I chose to stay" he mused and glanced at the chopped vegetables. The only thing left were the onions which of course were his enemy. He used his hands and tossed them to Abigail to continue with that enemy of his.

Her rolled as she scoffed in annoyance at his reply. seriously? Was he there to woe the ladies or work to earn? She collected the chop stick from him while listening to what he has to say next.

"Maybe I might find my missing rib over there" he joked and she puffed at him while ending what she was doing. Missing rib her foot, he has to regain that memories of his before thinking of a woman.

"Wouldn't you approve it, even though you hate me? You would be the villian in my love story" He furthered, and she grabbed a spoon attempting to hit him but paused. They both stared at themselves and burst into laughter. Why does he get to chose the part she was going to play in his life?

He always like saying such jokes of getting married but what if it happens? Abigail wasn't going to forgive herself though; because she was used to being around this annoying man, yet she didn't want to term it as romantic feelings that her heart was developing for him. Perhaps that's why she always push him around.

"Where would you keep her? In my house? Every girl goes after wealthy men, and you're no match for them except your handsome features" she commented laughing hysterically.

Louis wasn't laughing anymore as he gaze at her smiling. This was what she always wished her to be happy even though he could be pathetic at times or everytime.

"How about you... would you go for a wealthy man and not love?" He suddenly asked sadly and she ceased laughing at once.
