Davidson's Grandson

A seventy year old man named Lucas entered the Davidson residence. He is Davidson's youngest brother.

“Good morning, My Brother. I brought the healthy food, vegetables and fruits for you. I heard you've been in the hospital a lot over the past few months. You know, it makes me very sad," Lucas said.

"Thank you, Lucas. I'm touched that you care about me so much."

Lucas replied with a smile. “Anyway, I heard the income of your jewelry business decreased in the last month. Is it true?"

“Yes, the decrease is up to 10%.”

“Oh, that's a pretty worrying number. Haven't you thought about appointing a new person to manage your business? I mean, at your current age, you need a lot of rest, you can't work like you used to anymore. Moreover, nowadays it is more sophisticated. I think your business would be better if it was managed by a younger person,” Lucas said.

Davidson smiled at his brother's suggestion. Lucas always said like that every time they met. “What do you mean coaxing me like this, Lucas? Do you want an important position in my company?”

“Oh, a man as old as I can no longer lead such a large company. Moreover, the two of us are not much different in age. I've also been in the hospital many times. But I will recommend my son to you. You know, Xavier graduated from a great university. I think he is the right person to manage your business," Lucas said.

"But I just want to pass my business on to my descendants," Davidson replied.

Lucas seemed to sigh. "But your son is dead, Dude."

"I'm sure my grandson is still alive."

“But you never found it until now, right? What if he turns out to be dead too?”

"Maybe I will donate all my wealth to the country so that it can be given to the poor after I die."

Lucas fell silent. He was annoyed that his brother never trusted him. After that, he get out from the house.

They boarded a bus until they arrived at Davidson's residence. Agler and Pooja were stunned when they arrived in front of Mr Davidson's luxurious residence. "Wow! Is this a palace?” Agler muttered.

"Yes, this is Mr Davidson's palace," Pooja replied.

A security guard approached them. "Can I help you?" he scolded.

"Sir, we would like to see Mr Davidson."

The security guard notices Pooja and Agler's appearance. "Have you guys made an appointment with him?"

"Hmm, not yet. But he's waiting for us."

"What is your name? I have to confirm with Mr Davidson first.”

“My name is Agler, and this is Pooja, my wife.”

"Okay. Wait here a moment.” The security guard entered the mansion. A few minutes later he returned and immediately opened the gate for Agler and Pooja. “Please come in, Master and madam. Mr Davidson has been waiting for you."

"Thank you." Agler took his wife. "Do I look so handsome today that he calls me Master?" he whispers to Pooja.

"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe they call all the boys Mr, and all the girls Mrs."

"Yes, may be." Agler nodded.

Upon entering the house, they were greeted by Ghani. "Welcome, sir. We are very happy to see you come here. Mr Davidson has been waiting for you. Let me deliver!” Ghani accompanied Agler and Pooja to Mr Davidson's room.

When they entered the room, they saw an old man sitting in his chair reading a book.

"Good morning, Sir! I brought someone you've been waiting for," Ghani said.

Mr Davidson held his head up. "Who are they?" he asked, glancing at Agler and Pooja.

"He is your grandson, and the woman next to him is his wife," Ghani replied.

Immediately Mr Davidson immediately rose from his seat. "Agler? Are you Agler? Are you really my grandson?” The old man walked over to Agler.

Agler and Pooja look at each other, they look confused. “I-I don't understand. I only came here because he said you wanted to see me,” Agler said.

"Can I see the sole of your left foot?"

"Hmmm?" Agler frowned again.

"Take off your shoes, sir. And show him the soles of your feet," Ghani told Agler.

Although still confused, Agler began to take off his shoes. "I don't think it would be polite to show you the soles of my feet," Agler said.

"It doesn't matter. I just want to confirm whether you are my grandson or not.”

"Okay." Agler began to show the soles of his feet.

When he saw the black coin-sized mark on Agler's feet, Davidson immediately hugged Agler. “You are my grandson! I shouldn't have doubted you. Look, your face looks just like your father!" Davidson rubbed his face as he wept. He had been looking for his grandson for years, and then he had found him.

Agler just smiled faintly, he still looked confused. Meanwhile Mr Davidson starts to move closer to Pooja. “Are you the wife of my grandson? What's your name sweet girl?" he said.

"My name is Pooja," Pooja replied while she lowering her head.

"You're so pretty. Oh yeah, I feel like you look like someone. What's your parent's name?"

"My father's name is Dalton, and my grandfather's name is Daniel."

"Daniel? Are you really Daniel's granddaughter?”

"Yes. Do you know my grandfather?”

"Of course I know him. He's worked with me for quite some time. But he stopped working after my son died. I didn't expect that he would marry you off to my grandson. Oh yeah, where is he now? I want to thank him.”

"My grandfather passed away last year."

"Oh, I am so sorry to hear that," Mr Davidson said. After that he returned to Agler. “My granddaughter, starting today, I want you and your wife to stay here. You see I'm old, it's time for me to retire. Then I will appoint you to replace me to managing my entire business. Are you ready, my grandson?”

Agler's eyes widened. Managing Mr Davidson's business? Agler never thought he would have that opportunity. Everything still feels like a dream to him. He and Pooja looked at each other again then they both smiled.

That Agler said to Davidson. “Yes, I am ready.”

“Tonight, I will have a party to introduce my grandson to Everyone. Agler, you my invite your in-law to attend the party.”

“I see.”
