Ch 4: Old enemies meet again

********************

《5 months later》

Once Ethons and Naruth find their way back after parting ways with Glasha the Orc girl they come to meet while out in the forest he tells her that they meet again at the same spot as their last time. She happily agreed, given that the girl had taken a great liking toward the elf boy who in an amazing way somehow stood up bravely talking to the dragon into allowing him to enter its cave when he wanted to.

Yet when back home their disappearances haven’t gone unknown where Ethons father and Naruth's mother knew they weren't pleased with their children going far out of their own and received punishment for it.

Those next 5 months went by quite fast as Ethons never stopped to meet Glasha along with Naruth who still hung out with him during the months. He took chances every time with the Orc girl to know more about her people there was interest in their kind Ethons had.

Even then when meeting together they would also pay a visit to Mordos the dragon who gives Others permission to come to the cave whenever he wishes to and never mind when the girls were there. It was all fun for Ethons making two friends and learning much in this new life of his in this world.

During the nighttime, Ethons would sneak out of his home and go to Mordos cave given how much excitement it is to be friends with a dragon and how much knowledge he has about the world which could be good to learn from him.

Things went quite nicely and peacefully for a time until a certain event caused a big change for Ethons life because of his carelessness starting on one night as he always sneaked out and spent time with the Dragon.

“Ethons, I think it's time for you to go back home.”

“Aww Mordos come on, I'm having so much fun hanging out with you.”

Ethos said right he was laying on the dragon's back conformable as this is how close the two got over the passing months.

“I enjoy your company, surprising as it may be to me, but the sun will come to rise soon and your people will worry about you being gone.”

“Yeah you're right on that alright I go, but I will be back to see you again my friend.”

“I had already known that you are a boy as that is what you always like to do ever since I have allowed it.”

“Well, you can’t take it back.”

Ethons happily gets off the dragon Mordos back standing on his two legs to face him waving and saying goodbye. Afterward, the elf boy took his leave heading out of the cave and entered the nighttime outside of the forest which was quite beautiful to look upon.

When done doing that Ethons went in the direction leading back to his home at the same time not noticing there was another finger hiding away until he was gone for the person to show themselves.

“So this is the place you have been hiding all this time, Mordo's.”

This person began to walk toward the cave entering inside, but the sound of the footsteps was going to be easily heard by the dragon within who could tell the difference.

“Who dares think that they have the right to enter my home.”

“Ah, that hurts my feeling of you forgetting a dear old friend.”

“I have no friends.”

“Funny you should say that because it didn't look to be true that way when that elf kid left this cave.”

The person talking with the dragon Mordos finally came to stand before him to see what they look like. Someone he imminently remembers given what this person was wearing was something this dragon could never forget from the past.

“I see it now finally after all this time Eldon Rory Kane you have found me.”

“Look at that you remember my name, how nice, but I can’t take all the credit thanks to the elf. I found you much easier.”

“Did you…”

“Touch the boy, no there is nothing for me to gain for killing him as that isn’t my job it is killing your kind that is.”

Eldon took a few more steps forward at the same time Mordo's began to be on guard for the upcoming attack soon to happen.

“Then what is the point of talking any further when we both know what comes next out of this.”

“My thoughts exactly, Mordos let's get started and end this long-awaited war between us.”

Eldon reaches for his sword attached to his back, grabbing it and removing the weapon out for battle. When a minute of slices passed the two charged at each other as the fight started inside the cave.

“I don’t know why, but I keep getting this feeling that something bad is going on.”

Ethons haven’t gone far from the cave given this feeling came right after he left trying his best to put it aside. It kept coming back, getting stronger a little bit each time, so no longer thinking about ignoring this feeling, Ethons listened and went back to the cave.

Inside the cave again there was sound, this time he was hearing sounds that weren't good as it was coming from the dragon who seemed to be in pain.

“Is this all you got Mordos, I thought there was more than this from you after all these years?”

Ethons comes to witness the dragon Mordos heavily wounded bleeding badly from the fight yet standing strong on his four legs. He turns his attention to Eldon keeping guard with his sword covered in some of the dragon blood; the area around the two looks damaged from the fight.

What this man was wearing wasn’t normal, he was completely in armor that looked to be difficult to damage, but during the fight, it has taken quite a good amount.

“Why does it feel as if you do not put effort into this fight?”

“I have….. Been away from the world….. For so long fighting you again may as well be the end of my life.

“No! You don’t get to take this away from me Mordos, I spent years searching for you to pay a dragon-like you back because of everything that was done by you. I am going to make sure the death that I will give you will be long and suffering that it will never be forgotten.”

“Sadly to disappoint you, Eldon….. My death isn’t going to bring much joy to you no matter what you do to me.”

As the two were talking to each other Ethons hide himself thinking of something to do at this moment, but it has to be fast because the fight resumed continuing.

“Shit what to do, what to do.” Ethons repeats in his head.

He never thought this was ever going to happen or to find himself here where it was going on. Ethon wants to help yet there is nothing he can provide given this new body hasn’t fully developed or learned anything to use against the unknown intruder who is attacking Mordos.

Ethons brings his head to look back again to see the fight looking upon Eldon moving as someone with many expressions in dealing and killing dragons. Dodging the fire blast coming out of Mordos mouth that was aimed at him as the fire hits the ground and Eldon runs toward the creature who then uses his tail next to smack down upon him.

The man stopped right as the tail was coming close to hitting only that wasn’t to happen when Eldon used his sword right on time to slash a part of Mordos tail where blood spills all out to the ground or walls of the cave.

This being a chance to strike again Eldon uses his sword to slash across one of the Mordos legs near him causing the dragon to fall forward onto its body on the ground.

The sword was then stabbed into that giant body deep and good to leak out some blood.

“Yeah how this feels, Mordos not so good, I bet, but this isn’t going to compare to those you have slain in the past.”

“Ha…. I have felt a pain that was far worse than this….. Have you forgotten what was taken from me….. What your people did.”

“What we did was our job as dragon hunters, killing dragons that love nothing more than to burn down towns and feast upon those who can stand up against your kind.”

“Keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep at night, no words that come out of that mouth are ever going to bring your peace or what is going to happen tonight.”

Eldon, annoyed by the dragon's words, grabbed his sword and started to twist the weapon stabbing into the body to make Mordos feel more pain. Right then the man felt a hard thing hit his head luckily thanks to the armor helmet he was wearing.

“What the hell was that?” Eldon said looking at a rock that was now on the ground before his feet.

He removes his attention away from that and the direction to where the rock was thrown finding the one who did it to be none other than Ethons the elf boy Eldon saw leaving out of this cave and now he is back in.

“Oh, shit now I've done it.”
