Alex stood up while patting any dust off his pants, but the man in front of him who asked the guard to "release him" was, surprisingly, Bruce, the son of the CEO. 

Bruce was standing in front of Alex, with a hand on Shenna's waist affectionately, while his other hand held his latest model phone, filming Alex close for the live broadcast he started on DukDuk. 

Alex had a broken expression that was mixed with bitterness and hate, as he glanced at his lover, Shenna, in another man's arm. She was wearing a very expensive dress—wasn't that the dress that he had bought for her?

He had to break his back and work overtime, spending two months of his salary to barely pay for it, only because she said she wanted it. What kind of man would he be if he couldn't even provide a girl with a dress that she liked? 

Yet...

'How ironic...' Alex mumbled to himself.

It turned out that her lover, Shenna, simply wanted this dress to date Bruce, the son of the CEO.

Alex could only smile bitterly as he watched his hard-earned money go to Shenna just for her to flaunt and show off to another dude.

Bruce, the son of the CEO, had a handsome face that was finely complimented by his tall and vascular body. He was a gallant man that every girl in the company wanted to sleep with. To top it off with his wealth... 

Compared to Bruce, the son of the CEO, what was he supposed to be? 

Just then, Alex could hear Bruce's deep voice, laced with pride, as he spoke viciously at him.

"What are you doing here? Who allowed you into the hotel without my permission?"

However, Alex turned a blind eye to him, as he didn’t care about him. His eyes were full of emotion while looking at Shenna.

At this point, Alex had lost it, as he shouted at Shenna loudly. "Why did you do this to me?"

Shenna looked embarrassed, especially when the diners' eyes started to gather in their direction and their gossiping became increasingly louder. 

Bruce even asked Shenna if Alex, a laborer at his dad's company, was bothering her.

Alex didn’t expect Shenna to suddenly look angry and blurt out an accusation. "He threatened me, Bruce."

As if it wasn't enough, Shenna cried out dramatically into the phone. She was very intentional in saying that Alex was an awful person!

"He took advantage of me so he could join the company! It's true, he "forced" me to have a relationship with him before, but it's over now."

Hearing Shenna's confirmation, Bruce smirked with an indifferent expression as he turned his expensive phone screen to Alex. 

At that instance, Alex could see his own shocked and dirty face on the phone mirroring him, as well as the blowing-up comment zone under this live stream.

"Hey, isn't that Alex? Could it be a love triangle?" The first comment was from the 'Female Boss'.

"More like a frog lusting over a swan's meat!" Another commentator named 'The Department Manager' showed up and left a humiliating remark.

"I was thinking that Alex was a good man." An internet title, Supervisor Lee, commented.

"I knew that Bastard was a bad apple in the company! And he's even lusting over the boss's woman! Guys, didn't I tell you?" The Lone Wolf worker is also stated in the comment section.

The comment section continued to be flooded. Someone even said that they knew that Alex, who was always silent in the office, was never a good person and that the good results he was getting in the company were thought to have been cheated up to this juncture. 

Even without the backing of evidence, their slanderous remarks and comments were accepted as the truth. 

Others remarked that they couldn’t believe that Alex would do such a thing. 

Before, he was a talented person at work, and even the executives of the company had high expectations of him, yet now he was a measly disappointment! He should immediately be fired and file a case against Alex!

At this point, Alex couldn't even imagine how his co-workers would treat him after this incident. Would they look at him with loutish eyes of disgust?

'So that's why....'

Alex had concluded why he felt like Shenna had insulated him and had less contact with him, so this was the reason....

It could be said that Shenna had set him up from the start, and he was led by the nose and easily fell right into her palm. Although it's foolish, he still loves her, even with a glimmer of hope that she will change. He has always hated waiting, but regardless, he was willing to wait as long as forever for Shenna. 

However, Shenna's words and her cold denial of their relationship didn't just break his trust and his outlook on love; they also ripped his self-esteem to shreds.

Alex clenched his fist so tightly that it dug into his flesh while he looked at the ground. 'Sometimes one has to make a decision, even if it means breaking your heart, but...'

Suddenly...

"Haha..." Alex let out a self-deprecating laugh, a mixture of sadness and sorrow, but there was also a relief. Nothing was more important than having a sound and peaceful mind.

"Have you gone crazy?" Bruce raised his brows, seeing that this dimwitted company slave can't understand the situation that his wife detests him. 

A corporate slave should know his place and flatter him instead. Moreover, his laughter, he must have gone insane after his lover left him!

"I told you, hubby, he's a lunatic. That's why I left him!"

On the other hand, Alex finally realized and understood. 

When he joined the company, he heard numerous rumors around the company about how the son of the CEO, Bruce, would publicly shame his previous co-workers.

Alex stared at Bruce and Shenna, extremely outraged. How he wished he could just strangle them both...

Just then, Bruce, with an indifferent face, strode in front of Alex and whispered in his ears. "You see, I like seeing your woman spreading her thigh over my shoulder; it reminds me of your pathetic face. It's your loss and my gain. Why don't you lend her to me as your boss? After all, you are penniless and spineless."

Alex froze. He was shaking. While being insulted by his boss, he could just laugh it off as if nothing happened... Was it really right for him to live while compromising with others? Just because they are rich? He could do that again...

At this moment, Bruce falsely turned to Shenna and, with the most intimate voice that he could muster, uttered. "Baby, I'll never let anyone "hurt" or "harm" you again."

Alex, who was on the brink of exploding, finally snapped. He punched Bruce directly in the face, breaking his nose before Alex could deliver another punch.

The surrounding guards had to bring Alex down while locking his hands on his back, making sure that he couldn't move an inch.
