Chapter one: Awakening
"We told you not to interfere, didn't we?" a bald man dressed in a black suit asked as he pointed his revolver at a young man in his early twenties. "You always behave as if you're a hero when no one wants that. You always put others first when they don't even care about you."The young man couldn't help but shudder in fear as he staggered backwards but he was already surrounded by three other men. Even if he wanted to escape there was no way he was going to do that."You should have minded your business and not interfere when I was trying to make out with Mirabel, Donald," the bald man's index finger gradually pressed against the trigger of his revolver. "Everyone knows that anyone who tries to mess with me ends up getting killed."Donald became very afraid as his entire body became stiff. He knew the kind of dangerous situation he had gotten himself into and was very terrified. This was because the bald man in front of him was a very wealthy and affluential person. All his enemies w
Chapter two: Mirror and Steel Monster
'Ugh...''My head hurts...''It hurts so much...'These were the thoughts that spun off Donald's mind as he squinted his eyes which had been blinded by the white light from before. It seemed as if several thorns were franticly stabbing into his head, causing it to throb violently.Feeling very dizzy he felt his surrounding spin, his breathing becoming laboured. His chest heaved as he tried to take in long breathes, struggling with the pain he was feeling right now.Earlier he had been shot by Deucalion whom his girlfriend had been cheating on him with. He was supposed to die but somehow he found himself shrouded within this white radiance, a strange voice echoing within its depths.'You've successfully bonded with the Renegade System...' Donald repeated the words he had heard within his mind. 'The Renegade System...what the hell is that?'Finally he was able to adjust his eyes and opened it. For a few seconds everything seemed very bright and he almost got scared that he had been engu
Chapter three: Edge of Death
As Donald fell to the ground he was lucky for the claws of the Steel Sabertooth to have missed his face by a few inches. He could feel the gust of air sweep across his face, causing his black hair to sway. Luckily for him the Steel Sabertooth had taken a big leap, going over him. Or else he would have signed his own death sentence if the creature had managed to press him to the ground. The Steel Sabertooth landed some meters away from Donald who was still lying on the ground before turning around. It then glared at Donald before baring its fangs at him, hot steam streaming out of its nostrils.'Damn...' Donald cursed under his breath before rolling over so that he could face the Steel Sabertooth. He then propped his hands to the ground and pushed himself up.But he was a little too late because the Steel Sabertooth was already upon him. Obviously it couldn't just stand still and watch its prey take action. That would mean letting its food to have more chances of survival. So it moved
Chapter four: New Identity
The sun which had been shining brightly suddenly became veiled by thick clouds which spread across the sky like draperies. The ruin which had been lit suddenly had a drastic change to its surrounding. It became darker, shrouded with several shadows which gave it a stygian feel. It was as if countless monstrosities were hiding beneath these shadows. In this ruin filled with debris there turned out to be no creature within—except for a lanky man who lay down unconscious—or these creatures were hiding, waiting for the right time to strike like the Steel Sabertooth from before.A flash of lightning in the sky jolted Donald, causing him to open his eyes slowly. It was unknown if it was the lightning and continuous thundering which made him wake up or the constant notification he kept on receiving from the Renegade System.>HP RECOVERY: +1 PER MINUTEHP: 10/10'Huh?' he was more confused than afraid when he woke up. 'For them to move to and fro mountain must be a very herculean task. While descending the mountain he decided to check his player stats once more. Back then he didn't have the chance to check it because everything had been very confusing. Now that his mind had regained clarity this would be the best time to check it.Taking a deep breath he imagined the stat interface displaying before him. 'I mean, I've seen several protagonists with maps to help them...''You can't eat your cake and have it back,' he immediately reprimanded himself. The Renegade System had done so much for him, yet he was still here complaining. The thing was this was a habitual tantrum on his own part. A dull pain instantly registered itself in Javier's mind, jolting him out of the mental pain he was currently experiencing.Blake had expected to completely sever off Javier's head, leaving nothing but an empty neck with blood splashing out. But instead of that happening his sword bounced back, causing the hand which was gripping it to ache.'What in the world—' Blake was very shocked, his eyes bulging out of their sockets as he stared at Javier in shock. 'Blood of Donald...' Javier continued to cough violently as he shut his eyes tightly, refusing to open them. His hands still moved to cover his ears despite his entire body going limp. Although he was in a precaurious ordeal he still remembered he had to protect his weak points. And even when he felt like coughing out his lungs Javier still didn't let go of his ears or open his eyes. Instead he curled himself into a ball and rolled over so that he was facing down. His will to survive was greater than the agonizing pain he was feeling right now. Blake snickered when he saw this, "Doing that won't help you, Javier." He slowly walked towards Javier, his left han
