ISADORA
The drive through the lonely street was silent, the streetlight moved in blurs, casting shades of light over the asphalt like sentinels.Kane kept glancing at the lady, the sobbing goddess beside him. She didn't breathe a word out since, only stared out through the window, hiding away tears that streaked down her eyes. Kane wondered if he was deaf..or maybe she was dumb. The headlights of his Audi A6 shone on the gate of the mansion and with just a horn, the high–tech honk recognition gate slid open to the side and Kane drove in and cut the engine off a few distance away from the mansion.James, who had been standing outside long enough, waiting for his master, heaved in relief, glanced at his watch and strode to him.He bowed gently immediately Kane stepped out of the car."Young master, I was sick worried, I thought you were only touri—”His words faltered when Kane opened the other door.James squinted at the woman seated in the car.“Ms... We're here.” Kane said quietly, staring
UNDER HIS ROOF
The next morning, Kane stepped out in a Toms ford suit, minimalist, but more expensive than the two in the old wardrobe he had at home.He was still intent on keeping a low profile, dressed in clothes that are drab to give the world the wrong impression but it was enough to make people see he was doing well, better than before. He'd had James prepare a divorce paper and he'll be going by himself to throw it to Juliana's face, to show her he's not dead on the street but living large in a mansion that costs Ten times the place she called comfort.Immediately his feet touched the last Tread, James was already in the living room, waiting for him, looking sharp and ready in a grey suit.“Good morning, boss.” James greeted with a gentle bow.“Morning,” Kane looked around the living room. “Where is she?”“She said she'll be out in a moment." James responded and continued. "But there is something strange about your girlfriend.” Kane chuckled, amused. "She's not my girlfriend. She's just s
SNAPPED TIES
The marble flooring was cool beneath him, Isadora's weight pressed down on him, lush hair flopping down, dancing over Kane's face.Kane froze in place, Isadora's face zoomed in on him, her beauty staring back at him, glaring— enchanting.Isadora dragged her weight up, face dropped and fingers wrinkling on her gown nervously.“I'm..I'm sorry..” She stuttered, all nerve.Kane forced a smile, not looking at her, brushing dust that wasn't there off his suit."It's fine. I only came to check on you. I'll be out.” He quickly said, walked out but Isadora's voice stopped him at the door. She spoke, her voice tiny, barely up to whispers. “Thank you.” Kane turned to her now. He smiled. "It's nothing. Just be comfortable.” Isadora looked up now, her hands still pressed on her gown. She frowned slightly when she heard ‘comfort’ like it was a curse. The very ‘seven words’ she lacked when she was with the Finns. The place was her war zone— no peace. The Finns adopted her, barely fed her despite h
SLAPS AND SHEETS
Juliana froze at the door, jaw dropping like fish struggling to breathe at the shore. The smile on her face faltered, replaced with a frown, so tight that it rumpled her face, masking her shock quickly. He looked different, not the old shirt she betrayed...to her, it wasn't Betrayal but upgrading. She'd thought he would have slumped on the street out of starvation or maybe hit by a truck out of the despair of the heartbreak. But he was'nt just breathing. He looks different, calm and the suit he wore probably cost more than the old ones in his wardrobe.“You,” She toned, her voice harsh and cutting. “What are you doing here? Listen if you think you're here to beg me then you're at the wrong spot. We're done Kane!Kane stood there, his expression calm and unreadable, the file clipped by his finger, held like a weapon he was waiting to use.She laughed, clapping her hands in amusement. She waved at him, her face a mask of disgust and amusement. "And where the heck did you sponge the s
SILK STUDIO (I)
The glass door of the silk studio hissed behind Kane as he stepped in. The place was nothing short of breathtaking, polished surfaces, crystal chandelier scattering light from the high rise roofing. The space buzzed with soft hums from customers engaging in rich conversations. Expensive suits and resplendent gowns were the trademark of this place. The smell of rich Cologne and Eucalyptus filled the air— sterile and welcoming. Before Kane could linger too long, a female staff member, smartly donned in uniform— white collar vest and a short black skirt that fitted her curves, stopping on her knee, walked to him with a communicable and practiced smile."Good day, sir. Welcome to Silk studio. What kind of services should we offer you, Sir?”Kane smiled at her, acknowledging how politely she speaks. “I'm not here for services. I'm here to purchase some dresses. Something good...and fitting.”Eve, the staff smiled at him, her smile bright, wide but calculated and genuine. “Something like
GABRIEL FINNS
Kane clamped his hand like a vice.“If you dare slap her again, you're going to regret your existence. I swear!" He said, his voice cutting across the hall like a bullet.Meanwhile, across the room, Gabriel halted. He whirled, eyes squinting on the scene. His jaw tightened.Mr. Magnus, the manager turned. He looked Kane up and down. It doesn't look like he's an ordinary person judging from how rich essembles.“Who the heck are you!? Let go of me!" He panicked, fear clawing his heart, seeing the cold and lethal gaze in Kane's eyes. Kane shoved him. Mr. Magnus stumbled but he caught himself at the last minute before he could hit his back against the wall.Kane walked to the woman and squatted in her front. She sat still on the floor, her frayed blouse wrinkled, tear blurred her eyes and the marks from the first slap was fully registered on her face like a tribal mark.“Are you okay, ma'am?" Kane asked, concern laced in his voice. The woman sniffed and nodded twice.“Let's get you up.”

HEROES AND DAGGER
Kane stood tall in front of Gabriel finn. The posture was like a little David standing before Goliath. But he didn't flinch. His breath was calm. Too calm that Gabriel felt the weight of the challenge. What effrontery! The gut! Kane knew very little about the Finns. Even, he didn't know that the man standing right before him was a member of the Finns family...not until his eyes caught something on his neck. It was a Tattoo— Dragon Tats— Purring fire. The same Tattoo James had shown him on his Tab that morning. He recalled the name— Finns. The same cruel family Isadora had escaped from when he rescued her that night. Now he understood why the room held his breath. “I asked a question, you. Who the fuck is your father!” Gabriel barked, his voice dripping with venom. People trembled to his voice but not Kane. He faced him squarely like his nemesis. A deep frown creased Kane's brow. “My Papa? You just asked who my papa is? How rude of you? You mannerless Giant with the Brain of a f
VIOLENCE FOR VIOLENCE
It wasn't a protest, it was a challenge. It hung in the stale air like dread—unsettling.Mr. Magnus, the manager of the place knew what was about to go down. He shuffled forward, his movement heavy with dread, his face drained of its normal colour.“Mr. Finns... please.. we're sorry...” He was attempting to apologize to Gabriel again when..Gabriel didn't think once. He didn't even spare him a glance. He moved— raw kinetic energy in motion. His palm blurred through the air, moving with destructive force.PAWW!His palm connected with Mr. Magnus's face. It echoed like thunder, rumbling across the hall.Gasps rippled in waves.Hands clapped over their mouth to stifle a gasp that broke out in horror.Mr. Magnus reeled, stumbling backward till he crashed into a show glass. The glass shattered, shards clattering all over the marble. Some of the broken pieces cut through his suit, deep into his skin. His face was swollen...Damn! It was unnaturally swollen, sore from the thunderous slap. Blo
WHO'S KANE? CURIOUS EX.
Something snapped inside of Kane— old, ancient, long tamed. It bursted behind his chest in waves like gust.He yanked the blade from Gabriel and spun. Then lunged— His right arm drove through the air dangerously.SLUSH!The silver dagger dug into Gabriel's belly— the right lower part of the belly accurately. He gurgled, a sickening gasp eloping his lips. His jaw fell wide. Really wide, nearly hitting the pavement and his eyes went wide in horror. The hall froze!.Some people who had witnessed the stab gasped in shock. The woman, who was supposed to be unalived, shivering at the side, she opened one eye faintly when she realized she was still standing when she'd expected a dagger lodged deep into her heart.Shocked! Second eyes snapped open when she saw Gabriel trickling blood from his lips and Kane was standing in his front, blocking her view from seeing the dagger carried by his belly. Her eyes popped wide, flashing horror.Mr.Magnus, still sprawled on shards of glasses couldn't be
