Chapter 91
As Neal walked onto the school grounds, he retrieved his phone from his pocket. He hadn't been able to see Amber before he left home. He placed a call through to Amber. He had to tell her what he had in mind before he got caught up in school work and activities.Amber picked up on the first ring. “Hello, Neal? I didn't see you this morning. You must have left early.”Neal nodded. “Yes, I did. I want you to give the Pious Groups back the contract.”There was a short pause before Amber blurted, “Isn't that Cathy's company?”Neal nodded. “Yes, it is.”“Why?” Amber asked, surprise evident in her voice. “Why did you change your mind? I mean I'm not questioning your orders but I'm just quite surprised.”“It’s okay. I understand your surprise. I actually wanted to teach Cathy and her family a lesson. If you remember, that's what I told you I wanted to achieve by taking the contract from her family's company. Now, it appears that this has been done. Especially as she asked for my help.”“Wow.
Chapter 92
Why is Moise suddenly here? Cathy thought. If he disappeared because he couldn't help her, why did he suddenly show up to see her?“Ma’am?” The receptionist's voice brought Cathy back to the call. “Should I let him in?”Cathy shook her head before she remembered that the receptionist couldn't see her. She cleared her throat, “Let him in.”“Alright, ma'am,” the receptionist said and in the next second there was a click at the end of the line.Cathy returned the intercoms to its holder in a daze. She paused her jubilation over the contract offer as she thought of why Moise had visited. A lot of thoughts ran through her mind while she waited for his arrival.A couple of minutes later, a knock sounded on Cathy's door. Before she could give her permission to let him in, the door opened and Moise confidently stepped inside the office like he owned it.Cathy tucked her anger at his lack of courtesy aside and reclined in her seat. She didn't know what to do or say. She just watched him walk
Chapter 93
As Miles walked into the restaurant, he placed a call through to Sasha. She picked up immediately. “Hey!" She said in a high pitched voice.“What's up? I just wanted to confirm with you. We still have a date, right?" He hadn't heard from her since they last spoke in the morning. She didn't even reply to the location of the restaurant that he'd picked for them. “Of course!" She returned sharply as though Miles had just accused her of blasphemy. I'll never cancel a date with you. I just-” she broke off with a huff.“Are you okay?" Miles realized that she actually sounded breathless. “Are you walking?” He assumed that she was in a hurry.“Yeah, I'm good. Don’t worry, I'm already on my way to the location of the restaurant that you sent. I'll soon be there. I'll never stand you up.”“Alright. Can't wait to see you,” Miles added half heartedly. For the next few minutes, Miles waited for Sasha with his gaze going from the door to his watch. It felt like the longest minutes of his life. H

Sasha grinned. “I do. No matter what time it is, you prefer a cup of cold coffee with a spoonful of cream and a pinch of vanilla,” she recounted like she was singing a lullaby.Miles clapped for her with a chuckle. "You really do remember.”Sasha giggled. "I thought it was a weird way to want your coffee but it only made me like you more for your originality.”Miles flashed her a dashing smile. “So, what do you want?” He picked up the menu. Sasha shrugged. She smiled. “I think I'll have whatever you want. I've always liked your taste.”Miles looked at Sasha with a smile, “I'm flattered, Sasha.” He returned his attention to the menu and began to look through the meals that the restaurant had. After Miles made his choice, he called on the waiter.“Two plates of each for everything,” Miles told the waiter after she'd taken down their orders. The waiter nodded. She smiled. “Alright, you'll have your meals in a few minutes.” Then she walked off.A few minutes later, Miles and Sasha engage

Miles sighed. He stared at the contents in the mug in his hand. “Alright. If you insist.” He sighed again, his gaze not straying from the coffee. "The thing is I'm supposed to take over my father's company.” He looked up at Sasha. "You know I'm his only heir.” Sasha nodded her head, listening raptly. Miles continued. “It's one of the reasons why I returned to the city. I just came earlier because of our date. We were going to sign a contract with the Waterfall Corporation, the company where you work. Everything was already in place. But suddenly, they pulled out.”Sasha's frown deepened. “Why will they do that?" Miles' shoulders rose in a brief shrug then they slouched. “I don't know what happened. I don't know why they suddenly did that.” His chest rose and fell.“The loss would cause great harm to my father's company's growth, which would hinder me from taking over and driving it towards more growth. I don't even know what to do. The company doesn't need this at all at this stage

Miles let out an exasperated sigh. He should have known that his father would still be awake. Most probably because hadn't been able to reach him nor had he gotten any update from him. Before Miles could summon the courage to pick up the call, the ringing stopped. Then he saw that he had seven missed calls, all from his father. And it was just a few minutes ago. “Shit," he muttered again. He mustn't have felt the vibration because he was speaking with Sasha. It was a good thing he silenced the phone.Miles jumped when the phone abruptly rang out again. He slowed down. He picked up the call. He placed it on the speaker.“You are ignoring my calls, aren't you?" Miles' father said heatedly.Miles rubbed his forehead. He didn't prepare himself for the scream and the influx of accusations. "Dad-" “Why has your line been unreachable?" Miles' father interrupted him. "Have you spoken and apologized to the President you offended?”Miles wanted to reiterate that he hadn't offended any Presid

A playful frown slowly formed on Neal's forehead as he walked into the dining room for breakfast.Amber smiled up at him, “Good morning, Neal. I hope you slept well?" Neal pushed out a seat, his gaze still on Amber. “It was okay. How was yours?”“Peaceful.” Amber raised a shoulder in a light shrug. “Okay, what's with the frown?” She finally asked with a light laugh.“Nothing,” Neal picked up a cutlery. He looked up at Amber as she began to dish his food for him. “I'm just surprised you're still around. You've been leaving home quite early these past days.”Amber nodded. Not really. We've just been missing each other. Besides that, I think you're the one who's been leaving earlier. Sometimes when I come down to eat, I'm always told that you've left for school.”“Thank you,” Neal thanked her for the meal. He dug into the dish before him.“So, I made sure that I must see you before you leave today.” She intertwined her fingers, placed her hand on the table and watched Neal as he ate.“
Chapter 98
The next morning, Neal and Amber once again sat together for breakfast.Neal took a long sip of his coffee. “Let me guess, you've got an update?”“I sure do,” Amber chirped. “But first, did you have a restful night?" Neal nodded. "I did. You?” “Absolutely," Amber answered brightly even though she'd stayed up most of the night carrying out the research on the company.Neal picked up a spoon. He stared his coffee. “Let's hear it then.”Amber began, "The Soiree is a company that's into all types of advertisement. Do you need an exposure? Just go to them and they’ll get your business or whatever it is you want to become widely known to become just that. It's quite impressive how much exposure they've given to businesses that hired their services.”Neal nodded slowly as he processed Amber's information.“The company was actually put down at a pretty low price, but the turn up was insane. I bet the sellers didn't expect it. They took advantage of the huge turn up, and decided to give the

On the way to the bus stop, Neal phoned the owner of the Soiree. The owner picked up on the third ring. “Hello?" “Good morning," Neal said, going straight to the point. “Your company, the Soiree, is on sale. I'm interested in purchasing it. When are you free to meet so we can discuss further?”The man on the other end of the line hummed. “Seeing that you have my personal contact, you deserve that meeting.” There was a pause, then, “Is this evening convenient?" Neal did a quick mental run of the lecture he had that day. He smiled. "It's perfect." “Alright, then. We'll be meeting at my office. I'll send you the address location.”Neal nodded. “Thank you.”The call ended. The bus arrived just in time and Beal climbed in.Sasha had a huge smile as she walked towards the cubicle of one of her colleagues, the biggest gossip in the office, with a stack of papers in her hands.“Hello there, girl. You look so good today!" Sasha said as she stopped outside the colleague's cubicle. The collea

“Hey babe, how're you?”Cathy smiled as Moise’s drawl filled her phone's speaker. “I'm good, how're you?” Moise's response came immediately. “I'm fine.”“How's work going?” Cathy demanded.“Work's going well.” There was a pause then Moise asked, "What's up?" Cathy shrugged to herself as she turned herself around on the swivel chair. "Nothing. I just called to hear how you're doing." It was Cathy's first break after working since dawn. She knew that the best way to rejuvenate herself was by listening to Moise's voice. She heard the smile in Moise's voice. "Thank you, I'm doing quite all right. How's the work going for you?”Cathy smiled. “Quite all right. So,” she dragged the word, "which day should we reschedule our dinner to?”Moise hummed for a while. He sighed. “I honestly don't know. I have quite a lot to do. You know, work actually piled up during my absence. I've got a lot to attend to.”Cathy cooed, feeling sorry for Moise. Not only did he miss work because he was running a
