Chapter. 01
The heavy rain slammed violently against the asphalt, turning the roadside of Gem City into a black mirror that reflected the faint glow of streetlights. It accompanied the figure of Danny Wijaya as he twisted the throttle hard, making the engine of his Honda Repsol roar as it tore through the darkness of the night.“Slow down, Brother Danny. You’re going too fast!” Jay hugged his brother’s waist tighter, his body trembling, whether from the cold or fear, he could not tell. “The road is too slippery. We could get into an accident.”“We have to get home quickly.” Danny glanced back briefly, catching sight of his brother’s pale face. “I don’t want you to get sick. You still have a match tomorrow, don’t you?”Just as Jay was about to reply, the shadows of three motorcycle headlights appeared from the bend they had just passed. Their beams cut sharply through the darkness like blades. The engines roared loudly, deliberately menacing.“Brother Danny ....” Jay looked back, his chest tighten

Two other men emerged from the darkness. They lifted Jay’s barely conscious body and dragged him toward the edge of the ravine. Jay’s legs dangled over the empty void.“If you want money, just say it!” Danny begged, tears mixing with blood on his face. “If you want my life, take it! But please … please spare my brother!”They didn’t care. With indifferent movements, they threw Jay into the ravine.“Brother Danny!”The young man’s body vanished into the darkness. There was no scream. No sound of impact. Only a silence more terrifying than anything else.“Jaaaaaay!” Danny screamed until his voice disappeared, his throat feeling torn apart.Danny’s hand reached forward helplessly, his eyes soaked with tears mixed with rain. Rage and grief fused together, the world feeling unbearably unfair. One of the men grabbed his long hair, yanked his head up, and slammed Danny brutally onto the asphalt. His once handsome face was destroyed, cheekbones cracked, eyebrows split open, blood flooding his

Time no longer mattered. There was only pain, darkness, and the will to rise from the edge of death. When his hands were almost at the surface, wet soil and grass, his fingers nearly slipped, and his body almost slid back down.“No!” Jay shouted hoarsely, on the verge of tears, sadness mixed with anger. “I have to see Brother Danny!”“I have to see him!”“Brother Danny, you have to be okay!”But his body grew weaker, and despair began to creep into his heart.“Is this as far as my life goes?” Jay’s eyes slowly dimmed.Suddenly, the handle of an umbrella extended down from above, its tip bent into a hook.“Grab this!” someone shouted from the top of the cliff.Jay saw several figures above him, clearly trying to rescue him.“There are people?” His dull eyes widened instantly. “Who are they?”Seeing him hesitate, someone shouted again, “Hurry! Grab the umbrella, and we’ll pull you up!”Jay was startled once more, but his desire to live made him accept the stranger’s help. He would consi

In the outer corridor, ten bodyguards of the Wijaya Family stood in neat formation. They hurried down the emergency stairs, passing through the hospital lobby with quick and orderly steps. At the entrance, they crossed paths with another group.Four people were carrying a stretcher, on which lay the wounded body of a young man. They were led by a middle-aged man wearing a cowboy hat, walking calmly, unhurried, as if he had all the time in the world. The Wijaya bodyguards did not look back. They had a mission. Other people did not matter. The two groups passed each other, so close, yet never truly met. Fate played its cruel irony, they were searching for someone who was only two meters away from them, yet no one realized it.Master Jade’s gray eyes glanced briefly at the departing bodyguards. He murmured inwardly, “They look like guards from a wealthy and respected family. Could there be an important person being treated at this hospital?”*****Three weeks passed like morning mist und

This group was infamous for causing trouble in public places and was considered highly disturbing. Yet who could stop them?Even law enforcement officers were often treated like toys by them, let alone a small security team.GANG JAY’X had an intimidating appearance. They wore black synthetic leather jackets, dark sunglasses, torn black pants with strange stickers patched onto them, and long, messy hair that was unpleasant to look at.As they barged in, one of them whistled and casually patted a female waitress who was about to greet the guests. He was Kenzo, one of GANG JAY’X’s members. With an insolent grin, Kenzo said, “Hey, pretty. Hurry up and serve some wine or whatever the best drink you’ve got here!” His voice was loud and commanding.Wine? The waitress froze.“Y-Yes, sir!” she nodded with a pale face, briefly glancing at the uninvited guests who were heading straight for the far corner table.“Don’t forget to bring some hot, sexy girls to entertain all of us too. Okay?” Kenzo

He approached with fury burning in his eyes. “All of you, stop causing trouble here! If you don’t, we will take legal action!” Ali’s warning was completely ignored by those who had clearly come solely to create chaos. “Law?” Zane scoffed, slamming a large bowl onto the floor as he stepped toward Ali. “What law? You think we’re afraid of that? You pathetic little slave.” Hearing Zane’s words, Ali’s anger boiled over. He immediately called the security unit on his phone. “Get here now! There’s a pack of rats causing chaos in here!” “Yes, sir!” a voice answered from the other end. After pocketing his phone, Ali said coldly, “Hmph! Just wait. You’ll all be arrested soon!” The riot continued until a group of uniformed security personnel arrived. They immediately clashed with GANG JAY’X, who numbered only seven. Seven against a dozen might seem unfair, but make no mistake. Besides their individual skills, every member of GANG JAY’X possessed martial abilities that could not be under

Ali ordered several café employees to gather all the money Jay demanded. It doesn’t matter, he thought. Madam will take it back eventually anyway.Jay then spoke to his companions. “You wait and guard the outside. Remember, don’t let anyone break in and ruin my plan.”“What about these people, Boss?” Nayaka asked, pointing at the restrained café staff.Jay pointed toward a room. “Put them all in there and lock it from the outside.”“Yes, Boss!” Jay’s subordinates replied in unison.Swiftly, the six members of Jay’s crew seized all the café employees and locked them inside a single room. Not long after, stacks upon stacks of banknotes were neatly arranged before Jay, who now completely dominated the situation. If counted, the amount reached hundreds of millions of rupiah.Jay’s eyes gleamed as he stared at the orderly piles of cash, a sneer curling on his lips.“Look at this,” Jay said, touching the stacks and squeezing them with simmering rage.“This is money earned from my family’s b

Diana’s eyes widened, her heart pounding faster than usual. The sound of a birthday song played. The camera showed a room filled with colorful balloons, a large cake, and a clown dancing in the center. Guests laughed, danced, and raised their glasses in celebration.Everyone looked happy, enjoying what appeared to be a kindergarten-style birthday party in the video.Diana’s emotions exploded. She felt mocked by Ali. This was not the file she wanted. She grabbed the phone on the table and called Ali again, her anger overflowing.“Ali, what kind of video did you just send me?” Diana shouted, her face flushed red.“What do you mean, Madam?” Ali asked, confused.“Look at it yourself! Is that really last night’s CCTV footage? Why don’t I see any chaos at all?” Diana demanded, clenching her fist tightly. “Are you trying to toy with me?”On the other end of the line, Ali panicked. “Please calm down, Madam. Let me check the video file again!”Ali immediately rechecked the files he had obtaine

Meanwhile, elsewhere Inside an old warehouse in the northern part of the city, the temporary headquarters of the JAY’X group was buzzing with activity. Computers were running with countless data windows open. Kenzo typed rapidly while chewing on instant noodles, while Nina, the only woman in the group, was busy cleaning weapons stored in a long case.A large-built young man named Gara was lifting crates of logistical supplies onto a metal rack in the corner of the room.Jay sat on a worn-out sofa, staring at a wall covered in strategic markings. At the center hung a photograph of a young man, the focus of his gaze. The person in the photo was Danny Wijaya, his older brother.Jay picked up a pack of cigarettes, took one out, and placed it between his attractive lips. Nina, Jay’s personal assistant, hurried over with a lighter.Jay let her light the cigarette for him. He rested both feet casually on the table.“So, Ken, did you get the information?” Jay asked after exhaling smoke.“Yes

Jay felt incredibly foolish. How could he forget something so important?Grandpa, forgive me, Jay whispered inwardly.Heru Wijaya, the number one figure in the Wijaya Family, was still alive, and he was also the only person who had ever truly cared about Jay and Danny. However, three years ago, Heru Wijaya’s condition had not been good. When the car accident happened, he was never informed and believed that his two grandsons were studying abroad.Jay felt an urge to see his grandfather, but his hatred and resentment toward the woman named Diana Legiani, Hendra Wijaya’s second wife, ran far too deep.Jay took a long breath. I can’t possibly attend that event. To them, Jaya Wijaya has been dead for three years. Right now, I’m just Jay, no longer the young master of the Wijaya Family.Jay stared at Danny Wijaya’s photo for a long time, his gaze filled with longing. They shared similar facial features, even their smiles were almost identical.Jay took a deep breath. “Continue, Frans.”“Ye
