In the outer corridor, ten bodyguards of the Wijaya Family stood in neat formation. They hurried down the emergency stairs, passing through the hospital lobby with quick and orderly steps.

At the entrance, they crossed paths with another group.

Four people were carrying a stretcher, on which lay the wounded body of a young man. They were led by a middle-aged man wearing a cowboy hat, walking calmly, unhurried, as if he had all the time in the world.

The Wijaya bodyguards did not look back. They had a mission. Other people did not matter.

The two groups passed each other, so close, yet never truly met. Fate played its cruel irony, they were searching for someone who was only two meters away from them, yet no one realized it.

Master Jade’s gray eyes glanced briefly at the departing bodyguards. He murmured inwardly, “They look like guards from a wealthy and respected family. Could there be an important person being treated at this hospital?”

Three weeks passed like morning mist under the heat of the sun.

Jay sat on the edge of the hospital bed, staring at his hands that had already healed. The wounds on his body closed rapidly, far too fast for normal recovery. His broken ribs had fused back together. The bruises on his face had faded.

Every day, Master Jade gave him strange herbal concoctions, bitter as bile, yet astonishingly effective.

Without hesitation, Jay even begged Master Jade to accept him as a disciple.

Five years later.

Hero Cafe, a busy yet anonymous corner of Permata City. Jay sat at a corner table, a cup of cold espresso in front of him. He wore a synthetic leather mask, a new face, a new identity. No one would recognize the former Jaya Wijaya.

Across from him sat someone relaxed. He was Ken, a technology genius.

“Boss, so this is the place?” Ken asked.

Jay nodded.

“We’ll start eradicating the parasites from its branches,” Jay said quietly. “I plan to drain everything he loves, money, power, family. One by one, I’ll destroy them.”

“But there’s no need to rush,” Jay continued. “I want that person to feel the pain of losing the things most precious to him.”

“This is where our mission begins,” Jay added, lowering his voice. “We’ll raid this place tonight.”

Jay took a sip of his now-cold espresso, the bitter taste spreading across his tongue. He smiled mysteriously.

“Interesting,” Ken murmured.

Exactly at eleven p.m., the roar of motorcycle engines thundered through the street, followed by a group of riders stopping simultaneously in front of Hero Cafe.

The large engines hissed softly as they were shut off. Helmets were removed, revealing youthful faces full of excitement. Leather jackets, sneakers, and eager expressions marked the beginning of the night.

“Boss, is this really the place?” one of the riders asked. “We’re not wrong, right, Boss?”

“Yes. This is the place,” replied a tall, well-built man with a proportional posture. He adjusted the black mask covering his face before stepping down from his motorcycle.

One by one, the riders dismounted.

One of them glanced at the cafe building, which looked rather unremarkable.

“Boss, a place like this … does it really have a lot of money?”

“We’ll see,” the man called Boss answered calmly but confidently. “Oh yeah, make sure you all remember your respective tasks. Got it?”

“Got it, Boss,” a young man with a Western-looking face replied enthusiastically.

Another chimed in, equally excited. “Okay, Boss!”

“Ready, Boss!” the others echoed.

As they walked forward, the boss shouted, “Come on, move out!”

“Let’s go!” several of them shouted, their eyes gleaming with mischief.

“It’s surprisingly crowded for this hour,” one of them muttered as they stepped inside, greeted by the aroma of robusta coffee and the sound of an acoustic guitar from a small stage in the corner.

“Since it’s crowded, let’s make it even livelier,” whispered the man walking behind the boss.

Inside the cafe, the atmosphere was warm and bustling. Young people laughed at corner tables, some busy capturing moments on their phones, while the baristas skillfully prepared drinks behind the counter. Conversations mixed with cheerful laughter, music, and drifting coffee steam, creating an inviting atmosphere that made people want to stay longer.

Saturday night at Hero Cafe was not just about coffee. It was about meetings, about savoring flavors slowly while gazing at the city lights through glass windows. It was about finding brief moments of happiness amid a glow that never truly faded.

However, that warmth did not last long.

Suddenly, the sound of the door being slammed open echoed from outside.

BAM!

Everyone flinched at the loud crash coming from the entrance.

At the broken doorway, seven young men dressed entirely in black stepped inside with firm strides, like soldiers ready for battle.

Everyone in the room was shocked by the presence of the group, each member bearing a distinctive logo attached to their clothing, a symbol belonging to a notorious metropolitan gang known as GANG JAY’X.

The source of chaos had arrived!
