Chapter 1.
"Tracy, don’t tell me you’re feeding me this poison. That’s murdering!”In the bedroom, Adam Cole swallowed hard, his voice cracked.Paralysis had locked his body from the neck down.He was slumped against the bedframe held upright only by a torn blanket jammed behind his back. His eyes widened in shock as he stared at the small bottle in front of him. A skull icon and red diamond hazard symbol glared back at him. Adam recognized the biochemical toxin at once. He had seen it on the news before, and there was no way he could be mistaken.Even one drop could kill him in minutes. Adam’s heart pounded, fast and uneven.By the bedside stood a stunning woman with a graceful figure and breathtaking beauty.Leaning intimately into the arms of a young man, a mischievous smile played on her lips. That woman was his wife, Tracy.“Don’t put it so harshly,” Tracy said, putting on a show of hurt. Then the corners of her lips curled into a mocking smile. “I’m just doing you a favor, helping tra

“A worthless piece of trash like you,” Tracy sneered, “could drive day and night for thousands of years and still never make any real money.”Then her eyes gleamed with greedy triumph as she looked at Adam, not like a person, but like a prize.“You’re useless while you’re alive,” she continued coldly, “but once you’re dead, you’ll be worth millions.”“Didn’t you always say you wanted me to live a good life?” she smiled, sweet and poisonous, “Well then, isn’t this the perfect opportunity?”“Once you’re gone, every dollar will be mine,” she said, tilting his head, her voice tinged with delight, “and I’ll finally live that good life you promised.”As if struck by a dream coming true, a smug smile spread across Tracy’s face. She turned her head to the man behind her.“Do you know who the man beside me is?” she asked.“The eldest young master of the Max family,” introduced proudly, smiling up at the man. “Luca Max.” “You know what?” she added casually, but her tone was full of anticipatio

Tracy froze for a moment, then her cheeks flushed as she shot Luca a coy complaint.“Ugh, you're so bad... I’m pregnant, you know!”“It’s fine,” Luca breathed heavily, “I’ll strike from behind and be gentle.”Status and wealth dictated everything—and Tracy never dared refuse Luca.Though embarrassment flickered across her face, she still did as she was told, bracing herself at the foot of Adam’s bed, her hips lifting up higher.Luca’s gaze darkened with satisfaction as he stepped closer. And then with a flip, he pulled up Tracy’s skirt, and torn down her pant. And then ... the two made no effort to hide it, carrying on brazenly, right there in front of Adam.Luca even ordered Tracy to turn her head.So that Adam could see her face clearly, the conflicted blush, the surrender, the irresistible pleasure written in every subtle expression she could no longer control.“You—!”Adam ground his teeth so hard that blood spurted from his mouth. The obscene scene before him made his eyes burn r

Meanwhile, after a final thrust, Luca let out a low growl as he released himself.Tracy still seemed a bit unsatisfied, but Luca had already straightened up, commanding, “Clean me up.”Accustomed to Luca’s commanding tone and demeanor, Tracy naturally squatted down, parting her fiery red lips.Adam shut his eyes in utter despair, tears streaming down his face. The scene before him drove him to the brink of mental collapse.“Time’s getting late. Let’s wrap this up,” Luca urged, pulling up his pants. “I already booked a suite at the Crystal Hotel. After this, we’ll celebrate....”And as if on purpose, he added in a taunting tone, a wicked smile playing on his lips, “... His death.”Tracy giggled and nodded obediently. Straightening her skirt, she picked up the poison she had carefully placed on the nightstand earlier. She turned toward Adam, her eyes cold.“Time to send you on your way, then.”Adam’s eyes were bloodshot as he let out a beastly roar. “I swear, even in death, I'll mak

Chapter 5.“Why did they have to push me to death? How could she be so vicious, so cruel? Why let that Luca go after my parents and my sister too? Why?!”Adam stormed out of the house, jaw tight, fists balled so hard his knuckles turned white. He thrust his arm up, flagged a taxi down and climbed in."Crystal Hotel.," he said, his voice low and edged with fury. The driver gave a quick nod, started the engine, and pulled into traffic.Inside the car, Adam clasped his fist together, forcing himself to suppress the madness and violent rage surging through his chest. His heart burned with bloodthirsty hatred for Tracy and Luca—hatred so intense that, in his mind, they wouldn’t even be granted the chance to regret it. “The accident wasn’t an accident. I drugged your coffee.”“I’ll have those two old wretches and your sister brought here. They’ll work for my family for the rest of their lives. Scrubbing floors. Bowing their heads. Living like slaves and dogs.”Their voices wouldn’t stop.

Chapter 6.Olivia Vatican trembled with rage and humiliation. She was the CEO of Vatican Pharmaceutical. The balding man before her, Dr. Shaun, was someone the Vatican family had spared no expense to invite. A legendary physician renowned across the region, he had been brought in with the hope that he could cure Lord Leonardo Alessandro.Even if the treatment failed, as long as he made a genuine attempt, Vatican Pharmaceutical, and the Vatican family as a whole, would gain a decisive advantage when competing for the major pharmaceutical contracts under the Alessandro family’s control. It could even open the door to a direct relationship with the Alessandros themselves. The Vatican family was wealthy, but still a rising power with shallow roots, ranked below the city’s eight true giants. If they wanted to climb higher, the backing of the Alessandro family was absolutely crucial.Yet who could have imagined that Dr. Shaun, so compassionate and benevolent in public, a saint in the eyes
Chapter 7.
The voice was cold and sharp, cutting through the empty parking lot.To Olivia, it sounded like salvation. All eyes snapped toward Adam.Victoria exhaled, relief flooding her chest, only for it to die the moment she saw him. Disappointment flickered across her face.He was slightly above average height, but far too thin, as if he’d gone hungry more often than not.Cheap, ordinary clothes hung loosely on his frame, the kind sold at street stalls. Even his leather shoes were patched in several places. He clearly didn’t belong to high society.Just another nobody from the bottom rung of society and no match at all for Dr. Shaun or Erik.“I said, let her go,” Adam repeated, his voice low but firm.Dr. Shaun and Erik exchanged a glance—then burst out laughing.Olivia's eyes darted between them and Adam, her heart tightening with fear.Even so, she didn't want Adam dragged into this mess. "Please, go," she whispered urgently, her voice trembling. “They’re not people you can afford to of

His fingers tightened on the trigger, but before he could fire, Adam's hand shot forward like a bolt of lightning. He snatched the weapon away, flicked it deftly around his finger, then smashed the heavy grip straight into the bridge of Erik's nose.Erik snarled in pain, his head snapped to the side. Blood trickled from his nose and the corner of his lip.“Get lost!” Adam said coldly. “Point a gun at me again, and I won’t hesitate to put a bullet in you first!”The icy glare in Adam's eyes sent a chill straight through Erik's core. Whatever arrogance he'd clung to evaporated in an instant, leaving only raw fear.Erik didn’t hang around for another word.Clutched his throbbing face, blood seeping between his fingers, he scrambled into the GLE beside Dr. Shaun. The door slammed shut with a heavy thud. Heart pounding, Erik floored the accelerator. As the car tore out of the parking lot, he twisted around and glared at Adam through the rearview mirror, burning the man's face into his

Chapter 9.Olivia’s face remained clouded with doubt. Just as she was searching for a way to decline, Adam caught the hesitation in her eyes.He raised his hands and shot forward like a striking snake. His fingertips pressed quick and sure against her lower belly—three sharp taps, as precise as needles. She stiffened, heat flooded had cheeks. Her hands flew up, ready to shove him back, words already forming on her tongue—”What the hell are you doing? This is way out of line!”But then— it hit.A soft, golden warmth bloomed deep inside her, spreading slow and steady through the cramped muscles that had tormented her for more than two years. The cruel, twisting stab that always lived there simply... melted away. Her raised hands froze mid-air. Eyes glistening, she stared down at where Adam’s fingers had been. She pressed her palms flat against her lower belly, bracing for the familiar pain.Nothing. Her eyes snapped up to Adam. "H...how...?" Those few quick taps—nothing more—an

“I’ve already made my decision,” she said. Don’s laughter cut off abruptly.Seeing that his sister was dead serious, panic crept in. “Sis! Have you lost your mind from the kidnap?”“Even if Dr. Shaun turned on us at the last minute, we can’t just drag some random homeless in to make up the numbers, can we?!” Another member also stepped forward, with a frown on his face. “Don is right. We cannot just send a random person to muddle through this. You’ll turn us into a laughingstock. Worse still, we’ll completely offend the Alessandros.” “Yeah, if the Alessandros think we’re treating Lord Leonardo’s life lightly and take their anger out on us, then we’re finished!” Don added anxiously. As he spoke, his eyes burned as he looked down at Adam with blatant disdain. He ripped his wallet from his pocket, flipped it open and pulled out a thick stack of dollars. “You saved my sister. Take this. Consider it your reward.”He flung the money straight at Adam. The bills hit Adam’s chest,
