CHAPTER ONE.
Finn Rowe jolted awake, soaked and freezing. Cold water burned his skin, and his heart was pounding. He blinked, trying to figure out where he was. Elara Voss stood right in front of him, glaring, her hand still raised. How could you? she snapped, her voice full of hate. How could you cheat on me? Finn opened his mouth, but nothing came out. His eyes moved left and stopped. A girl was curled up on the floor with a blanket, crying, totally ashamed. Finn's chest hurt. Before he could think, he saw the rest of the Voss family. They all looked mad and disgusted. The hotel room, supposed to be a celebration for his and Elara's anniversary, was now a scene of accusations. Finn's knees gave way, and he fell. Elara, please, he begged, his voice cracking. I didn't do anything.Elara narrowed her eyes and stepped closer. Is she lying? You're terrible. You won't even own up to what you did to her. Finn's mind went back.Yesterday, he'd arrived at the hotel, excited for a quiet night with Elara.
CHAPTER TWO.
2.Rain smacked Finn Rowe as he walked to the Voss mansion, soaking him. His wet clothes were heavy, but the storm inside was worse. He heard loud, angry voices even outside. Finn slowed, feeling his chest tighten. They were talking about him. He's back. That bum, Regina Voss said, her voice nasty. The son-in-law who's done nothing. A total loser.Leonard sighed. I never got why Elara married him. He's worthless, just a delivery guy.Maribel laughed. I can't believe she stayed married to that house husband for three years.Darius Blackmoor sneered, I should kick him out before he embarrasses himself more.Finn stopped, clenching his fists. He didn't run. He walked into the house. Everyone stared at him with hate. Regina started in, You're here, but you're still a nobody.Elara appeared, her hair wet, and smiled in a way that made Finn's stomach turn. Go your own way, Rowe. I'm done with you. Her words stung. Finn's heart skipped. He was shocked.Elara, what? Did you set this up? he as
CHAPTER THREE.
3.Lying on the freezing marble, Finn Rowe felt blood trickle from his busted lip and a cut on his head. Rain, mixed with his sweat, had drenched his clothes, and his body throbbed from the beating he'd just taken. He felt heavy all over, each breath reminding him how badly he'd been humiliated. His chest heaved as he tried to take in the situation: the woman he'd loved for three years, the family he'd given everything to, now saw him as dirt.Elara stood before him, her hair wet and stuck to her face, divorce papers in hand. She knelt a bit, holding up the thick envelope so he could see it. Her voice was steady, almost soft, but her words cut deep. Just sign. I'm done with you.Finn stared, shocked, angry, and heartbroken all at once. His lips trembled. Elara, after all this time, you're really doing this? Three years of love, of being there for you, and you're ending it like this?Elara smirked a little. There's nothing to save, Finn. You were never good enough, and now you're out o
CHAPTER FOUR.
4.Finn Rowe couldn’t believe the guy in front of him. He was big, bossy, and had this air about him that made everyone else look small. Finn had heard stuff about him, both in business and on the streets, but seeing him up close was something else. If he wasn’t wrong, this was the guy who started Blackwell Conglomerate—the big cheese of the Varla Skyfall league and the most feared Mafia kingpin in the Varla underworld. But Finn really wanted to know: what was he doing here, looking for a loser like him that the Voss family tossed aside and beat down?Finn looked around, trying to figure things out, but found nothing. Then, a woman showed up beside him, all calm and professional. She had on a fancy suit and looked serious and sharp. “Come with me,” she said, sounding polite but firm. “I’m Mrs. China, the big man's secretary. I’ll take you to him.”Finn followed, his legs shaking a bit from being tired and shocked. The rain, the double-cross, the roughing up, and now this big shot were
CHAPTER FIVE.
5.Finn Rowe stared at the band on his wrist. The black watch shined, even in the dim light of the hall. He felt its weight, literally and what it meant. This wasn't just a watch. It was a mark of status, recognized by all Blackwell groups. It meant he was someone important. Finn moved his fingers, unsure and excited. He could hardly believe the power he now had, along with all the responsibility and risk.Lord Sovereign watched him. His golden eyes seemed to see right through Finn. Ready for this, Finn? he asked, his voice steady. Finn stood up straight, full of resolve.I am, Finn said, his voice strong, filled with years of pain and hard times.Good, Lord Sovereign said, nodding. Each test is tough, but it comes with perks. If you win, you'll get rich, powerful, influential, and women will want you. You'll have the power to get loyalty and respect that others can only dream about.Finn swallowed, trying to take it all in. The thought that he could go from where he was just days ago
CHAPTER SIX.
6.A bunch of black Range Rovers screeched to a halt outside the Galton lounge, and heads swung their way. People waiting to meet Mr. Galton inside the hotel couldn't believe their eyes. The cars were shiny and black, and the low rumble of the engines seemed to shout, Power! Finn got out of the first car, a band on his wrist glinting. He walked coolly, like he owned the place. The waiting crowd was itching with curiosity. Whispers flew fast. Who's that? someone asked. Is he Valia royalty? another wondered. Everyone stared, unsure what to make of the guy swaggering in with such confidence.Inside, Elara spotted him first. Her eyes popped, then her brother-in-law and brother saw him too. Adrian, who was crushing on her, just froze. They hurried over, looking ticked off. What are you doing here? Elara snapped, blocking his path. Who said you could come here and mess with us?Her brother-in-law and brother jumped in, raising their voices. You don't belong here. Get lost before you embarra

7.The lounge went quiet as Finn Rowe stood next to Mr. Galton. The crowd, who'd been laughing at him, now just stared, confused. Darius, red-faced, pushed forward, unable to hold back. Why are you siding with this nobody? he yelled at Mr. Galton, while sneering at Finn.Finn glanced at him, his eyes calm. Get them out of here and cancel any deals with them, now, he told Mr. Galton, his voice firm. The room went silent. Darius blinked, surprised that Mr. Galton seemed ready to listen. What? Are you serious? he shouted, his voice getting louder. You can't do this for a fool like him. He's nothing. Why are you listening to him?Mr. Galton didn't react. He looked at Finn, then nodded to the guards. As you wish, he said. Right away, Darius and the others were being taken out, complaining the whole time. Finn didn't even blink. He stayed cool, his eyes steady. As they were dragged away, Darius kept yelling insults, calling him a nobody who had no right to give orders. Elara, next to him, r

8.Adrian and Elara showed up at the place, and she was steamed to see Finn Rowe chilling in VIP with his band on full display. She was all, He shouldn't even be here! Someone do something!Adrian patted her shoulder, Relax. Finn's gonna get what's coming to him today. Trust. They strutted inside, eyes locked on Finn.As soon as they got to VIP, Adrian lost it. He flags down security, ranting that Finn wasn't legit. He's not a member! Get him out now!The room started buzzing. People were confused about what all the fuss was about. Elara and Darius jumped in, throwing insults and questioning Finn's right to be there.Finn just sat there, cool as a cucumber. He raised a hand and said to security, Are you letting anyone make stuff up here? Looks like you messed up. He had this quiet authority thing going on. I think you should fix your mistake.Security looked at each other, then nodded. He's right, one said. You insulted a guest and made a scene. Either leave quietly, or it won't be pr
CHAPTER NINE.
9.Adrian and Elara stomped through the hall, faces tight with frustration. They'd spent the whole morning planning how to deal with Finn Rowe, and seeing him chilling in the VIP section, all calm and collected, just made them madder. Elara whipped out her phone and called someone at the Ashburn Group. Check today's VIP list, she snapped. Is Finn Rowe on it?A second later, they got their answer, and they both froze. He's not on the list, the person said. The only way he's in there is with a VIP trial card. He's not officially anyone.Elara's lips tightened. A trial card? That jerk is faking being a VIP, she muttered, disbelief mixed with anger. Adrian's jaw clenched. We'll expose him, he said, his voice low. He won't get away with this.Meanwhile, Finn was quietly sitting in the VIP corner. The fancy band on his wrist caught the light, a low-key sign of power that got people looking. He saw three young guys come up, all from rich families. They bowed a little, handing him their busin
CHAPTER TEN.
10.Mrs. China stepped up, her voice loud enough for everyone to hear. Alright, folks, let's get this auction going! We've got a special item today, straight from Mrs. Ella Ashburn herself. Whoever wins this doesn't just get the item; they get Mrs. Ashburn's attention and respect too.The crowd got all excited. As soon as they understood what she said, people started trying to get in good with Mrs. Ashburn. They crowded around the auction area, whispering compliments, and basically trying to flatter her, hoping she'd notice them. Everyone was watching Finn Rowe in the VIP section, just sitting there, taking it all in. He didn't move, didn't say anything, and didn't even crack a smile. He was totally focused on the last item, number 15.People started whispering about him. Is he broke? He hasn't bid on anything, someone mumbled. Others nodded in agreement, while Adrian and Elara looked annoyed. They figured Finn was just nervous, unsure of himself, or waiting to ask them for money. Ela
