The hospital corridor was completely deserted and dead quiet. Ethan Cole stood alone under the flickering overhead light. He held his cracked phone tightly to his ear. He dialed his wife for the twentieth time that night. The line finally connected after a long pause. Loud party music and cheering burst through the tiny speaker."Who is this?" Ashley Ward snapped. The secretary sounded highly annoyed and impatient."Put Sophia on the phone right now," Ethan demanded. His voice was low and desperate."Director Morgan is very busy," Ashley scoffed. Her tone dripped with pure disgust and superiority."My mother is dying in the next room," Ethan begged. He gripped the plastic phone tighter.Ashley let out a sharp and cruel laugh. She sounded like she just heard a hilarious joke."Your mother is dying? Good. That useless old hag deserves to die," Ashley sneered. Her voice dripped with nasty poison."Are you insane? Get my wife right now," Ethan shouted. His eyes went wide with sheer shock.

Ethan sat in the quiet crematorium all through the long dark night. The cold metal chair offered absolutely no comfort to his aching bones. He watched the tired staff slowly arrive at the break of dawn. His blank eyes stared straight ahead as the heavy steel furnace door closed. The loud clank echoed in his empty chest. He carried the dark ceramic urn back to the massive Morgan family home. He walked up the grand staircase and packed his few cheap clothes into a worn suitcase.Ethan placed his silver house keys gently on the glass coffee table. He stood in the middle of the familiar and expensive living room. A bitter taste filled his dry mouth. This miserable chapter of his life was completely finished. The heavy mahogany front door swung wide open. Sophia walked in with Tyler, Diane, and Ashley closely trailing behind her. They were laughing loudly about their fancy brunch after last night's successful dog party. Their bright and satisfied smiles vanished instantly when they noticed

Sophia stood elegantly over the fallen wedding photo on the expensive Persian rug.Tyler stomped the wooden frame into tiny splinters with his heavy leather shoes."That stray mutt will be back begging for scraps by tomorrow morning," Tyler laughed. His face twisted into a highly arrogant and ugly sneer."He has nowhere to go and absolutely no money to buy even a cheap doghouse," Diane agreed. She waved her hand through the air in total dismissal."A kicked dog always comes running back to its wealthy master eventually," Ashley mocked. Her voice dripped with absolute venom and superiority."He thinks walking out makes him look like some kind of proud lone wolf," Tyler sneered. He kicked a piece of broken glass violently across the shiny floor."But we all know he is just a pathetic little poodle throwing a stupid temper tantrum," Tyler added. His eyes gleamed with pure malice and extreme cruelty."He will realize quickly that street dogs cannot survive without our expensive leftovers,

Walter Thompson dropped the ten billion dollar offer into the silent room like a massive bomb.Tyler trembled with pure greed and completely forgot his previous anger."Ten billion dollars for us?" Tyler squealed. His eyes bulged out of his head like a starving street dog seeing fresh meat."We are going to be the richest family in the city," Diane gasped. She clutched her expensive pearl necklace in absolute delight."Director Morgan is a true genius and a queen," Ashley praised loudly. She clapped her hands together like an obedient seal performing for fish.Sophia felt a sudden rush of extreme heat flood her cheeks. Her bright eyes lit up with sheer triumph before her brain caught the unfamiliar name."The Phoenix Remedy?" Sophia asked. Her smooth forehead wrinkled in genuine confusion and deep thought. She had absolutely never heard of such a product in her entire life. Morgan Pharmaceuticals never manufactured anything with that specific name.Walter Thompson noticed her slight h

Mrs. Hayes narrowed her eyes at the young man standing by the warm fire. She took a highly aggressive step forward."Are you a filthy street dog working for the Black Tiger Crew?" Mrs. Hayes demanded. Her voice dripped with sharp suspicion and pure venom.Ethan rose slowly from the hot fire basin. He did not show any urgency or panic at all."I told you I do not treat gunshot wounds," Ethan repeated. His tone was completely flat and totally indifferent. He glanced briefly at the severely injured young woman bleeding on the floor."I do not want any trouble in my mother's memorial hall," Ethan added. His face remained a perfectly blank mask."Anyone using heavy firearms in this city is not ordinary. Take your violent conflicts outside," Ethan instructed. He turned his attention back to the burning paper.Victoria Harlow studied him carefully for three full seconds. She tried desperately to read his hidden thoughts. She found absolutely nothing in his dark and quiet eyes."We are leavin

She moved with the aggressive energy of a deeply humiliated woman seeking revenge."Here is your filthy money you greedy little street dog," Mrs. Hayes spat. Her eyes burned with intense arrogant fury."You act like a starving mutt begging for extra bones," Mrs. Hayes mocked. She glared at Ethan with pure unadulterated contempt."Let us leave this dirty doghouse right now," Mrs. Hayes urged. She pulled gently on Victoria sleeve."We almost died tonight collecting the White Dragon Root for the Old Master," Mrs. Hayes reminded her. Her voice shook with lingering fear and heavy exhaustion."We absolutely have no more time to waste on this arrogant stray puppy," Mrs. Hayes insisted. She crossed her arms tightly over her chest.Victoria ignored the angry older woman completely and stepped much closer to the counter."The Harlow family will treat you incredibly well if you come with us," Victoria promised. Her beauti

"Helen Cole is the exact same name on the memorial tablet at the clinic," Victoria gasped. Her beautiful eyes widened with sudden and totally intense realization."Bring me Ethan Cole background file immediately," Victoria commanded. She waved her hand frantically at her loyal bodyguards in the crowded room. She pulled up the bright digital screen and pointed directly at the beautiful painted portrait."Is this the exact woman who treated you?" Victoria asked. Her voice trembled with a massive surge of wild desperate hope.Nathan stared deeply at the glowing screen and his face went completely pale."That is Doctor Helen," Nathan confirmed. His jaw dropped wide open in pure unadulterated shock."She is the magnificent woman who cured my terrible infection with pure magic," Nathan cried. He pointed a shaking finger at the small screen.Victoria jumped to her feet before the crowded wealthy room could even react."Bring my grandfather body and follow me right now," Victoria ordered. Her

Ethan stood alone in the quiet memorial hall smoking a cheap cigarette. He suffered through his second completely sleepless night in the dark.Loud tires screeched violently to a halt in the dark alley outside. Victoria rushed inside with her expensive white shirt still stained with dried blood. He noted their incredible speed and drew his own firm conclusions instantly."There is only one single bed available in this tiny cheap doghouse," Ethan stated. His dark eyes remained completely flat and exhausted."The hard dirty floor is wide open if you plan on staying here," Ethan added. He pointed a casual finger toward the dusty corner of the room.Victoria stepped forward quickly and bowed with deep genuine respect. She presented a beautifully carved wooden box directly to his waiting hands. The rare White Dragon Root rested perfectly inside just exactly as he asked. Ethan opened the lid and kept his facial expression entirely neutral. His left eye twitched very slightly at the incredib
