Nightmare

An old woman, dressed in a flowing black dress, stood before him and made the entire room feel ominous.

The darkness that surrounded her made it difficult to make out her features, but the way she stood sent shivers down his spine. The tattered fabric of her dress clung to her thin frame, and her hair was a wild and tangled mess.

He narrowed his eyes and peered into the dark, trying to make out the woman's face. But the room was shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere.

"Devour Life." The woman spoke with a grating, chilling voice that sent shivers through him.

His palms grew slick with sweat as his hands trembled uncontrollably. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself for the worst.

"Devour Death." A cold breath tickled the back of his neck, but the woman in front of him remained still, making the situation unnerving.

Then suddenly...

"hehehehehehe!!!!"

Her crazed laughter filled the room as she ran towards him with wild, crazed eyes. He could feel his heart pounding and every muscle in his body tensing up, but he was too scared to move. He was frozen in place, held captive by fear

Thud...

Mo Shen's heart was pounding with fear as the old woman suddenly stopped right in front of him, her face so close that he could feel her breath on his skin. He was paralyzed with terror, his body shaking as he realized what was about to happen.

"Destroy... the worlds."The corners of her mouth curled upward in a twisted, sadistic smile.

The room fell deathly silent, and his vision blacked out briefly. He could feel his pulse pounding in his ears as he struggled to stay conscious.

Then...

He bolted upright, sweat pouring down his face as he frantically scanned the room.

"I..." He opened his mouth to speak but found that no sound escaped his lips.

Mo Shen was now fully awake, but the feeling of terror still lingered within him.

"What happened, Mo Shen?" one of his female classmates asked, getting up from her seat and sitting beside him.

He turned to look at her, still trying to shake off the remnants of his nightmare.

"I just had a really vivid nightmare," he said in a low, weak voice.

"No wonder you looked so pale when you woke up," she said with concern, examining his condition.

"Let me check your temperature, you might have a fever." She placed her palm on his forehead.

"Tsk, lucky bastard," some of the male students gritted their teeth in annoyance. They were pissed to see such favorable treatment.

The girl had a perfect oval face with charming innocent eyes that fully emphasized her dazzling beauty.  She was wearing a miniskirt under her uniform, which further showed off her long, soft-looking legs.

The girl in front of him is their class president and his childhood friend. Her name is Mia, and she's the top flower in their school.

He felt the piercing eyes of his classmates but decided to ignore them.

Well, that's his opinion about her; he couldn't think of any reason to explain her intimacy to him.

"You don't have a fever, but you're so sweaty." Mia pulled out her hands.

"I'm fine, I just had a bad dream," Mo Shen played down his concern because he did not want her to worry too much.

"But why do you look so ill?" Mia got closer. She was not concerned about other people looking at them. From her perspective, Mo Shen is her long-time childhood friend, so things like this are only normal.

"Really?" Mo Shen was stunned.

"Go see for yourself," Mia said, taking her cell phone out and opening the camera app. A small mechanical camera snapped out on top of her phone.

After snapping a picture, Mo Shen hurriedly looks at the screen. He saw his face as soon as he looked up. It was pale, and there were little cracks in his lips. He looks like someone who hadn't drunk water for days.

"Maybe you have a fever? Why don't you go to the nurse's office?" Mia was concerned about him. They had been friends for so long.

"Got it." Mo Shen nodded his head, he was also concerned about his current condition.

He lifted his backpack, checked his phone for the time, and hurried out of the door. Mia wanted to accompany him, but he refused.

'I don't want to experience that kind of situation again,' Mo Shen muttered to himself. He walked out of his classroom, passing by some students on the way. He needs to hurry up because their lunch break is about to end.

He finally reached the nurse's office, and the school bell rang as soon as he stepped into the room.

"Devour life." He heard another sound coming from the nurse's office.

The old woman showed herself again. Although this time, Mo Shen was able to see her more clearly.

She was sitting in an office chair, her back facing him, so he was not able to verify her identity, but he could hear her weeping voice. It sounded like she was mourning for someone.

"Devour death." The old woman murmured the exact phrase again.

Time seemed to slow down. He could hear his sweat dropping to the floor.

"Deeeeevour the Gods!!!! "

With terror in his heart, Mo Shen watched as the old woman lunged towards him, her head suddenly twisting in a complete circle as she moved. The sound of her neck bones snapping and cracking echoed in the room, adding to the already haunting atmosphere.

"What the fuck!!!" He was so scared that it was the only thing that came out of his mouth. Forget about running, he couldn't even lift his legs.

He was completely powerless, unable to escape the terror that was unfolding before him. He lay there, waiting for the inevitable, his heart pounding in his chest. The last thing he heard was a sinister laughter, and then everything went black.

Suddenly, a pair of arms caught him just in time before his head hit the floor. He opened his eyes groggily to see the nurse's worried face looking down at him. She helped him to a nearby chair and checked his pulse and breathing. She looked relieved when she found that he was stable and just in shock.

"Hey, are you ok?"
